Arrival and check in easy, first appearance of property was good, but we did notice animal smells and upon removal of the throw rug from the living quarters it was much better. There was an animal bedding in master closet that made the closet smell also. Removal of that would help that situation. A lot of animal hair under all the furniture and dirt and sand also. Some cereal droppings and food also under furniture. Housekeeping should move furniture around to resolve that. We only used one bedroom and one bathroom as there were just the two of us so we closed off the rest of the house and did not use.
Main entrance door jamb has been damaged and not repaired with door parts laying on top of refrigerator.
Bedding in master had several bad disgusting stains on the top comforter. Well there were several black hairs on sheets also. We planned our trip with our personal bedding so that was just removing supplied linens and using ours , but it should be addressed.
The property is in need of some minor cosmetic touch ups and more attention to cleaning areas that get over looked.
In short we were okay with the property as it was convenient for us to vacation. Would we stay there again, probably but we move around to different locations and most likely won’t be back to that area.

Home met our expectations and exceeded in others. Very pet friendly. The coffee maker needed to be replaced and it was done so the next day. Just a short walk to the beach.

It had 4 bedrooms which is nice for a family, and it is dog friendly. It is close the beach. However, there is noise coming from the traffic on either side of the cottage. There is a weird old man who lives across the street. He isn't a vacationer. Just ignore him. He won't bother you.

Place was clean, plenty of towels. Theoutdoor shower wasnt great (shower head could be better) and the hose was old/broken so we bought a new one and left it there. Rooftop deck at night was great for parents to hang out. Overall would stay again. Beach access one block north was great (wide with mats, making it easier to drag beach buggy). Lots of birds roost in the trees surrounding the house which was cool to watch in the evenings.

This was very easy since we did every last year. And everyone kept us informed as to opening and closing the house. We did report that they need new mattresses on the beds. I hope they follow thru!

Inside was very clean with amenities to make a week long trip comfortable (laundry, dishwasher, plenty of bath towels). Outside shower was awesome and the grill. The outside of the property seemed to have some minor trash around (plastic bottles, cigarette butts, etc. In addition - the three decks gave amazing views however the back deck seemed to need major repairs soon or someone could get hurt (rotting boards). Besides these two small things the property was amazing and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Nice, convenient property. Close to beach and restaurants. It was obvious that the owners have not visited recently, as the management of the cleanliness and function was less than what I would expect. If they did they would have discovered multiple lights inside and out that did not function or burned out. In an elevated property in inclement weather, seeing the stairway properly lighted is important (it snowed) They did try to get the outdoor working when we arrived but did not last. Kitchen appliances like the blender did not function. There was also old food under the couch.Bottom line, house was ok, the management and oversight was lacking. You might ask why you did not request assistance. It was because my expectation was these things should have been dealt with before we arrived. I did not want to wait around until someone arrived to fix the issues. Did not want a stranger in the property, especially with my dog there. A 4 for this property is all I can do, if that.

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at cozy cottage. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need. It was close to all the activities and restaurants. The street is great for walking and riding bikes. Very close to the beach and the property is very well kept and clean.

Family beach trip
We had a great stay at Sharon’s place! She was quick to respond and got us everything we needed during our stay. The house was in a great location, and we loved being able to walk to the beach every day. We were especially grateful to find a place we could bring our dogs so they could be a part of our vacation as well. Thanks Sharon!

We had the best time staying here! Very clean, close to the beach, and lived up to the name of being very cozy. Spent a lot of time on the front deck with our dog. She had the best time! We are already planning our next trip back. Thanks so much!

Very cheerful cottage
I really enjoyed my stay at this clean, bright and cheerful cottage. Just what I needed to fight the winter doldrums!! Conveniently located in a safe and friendly neighborhood, the cottage is close to the beach, attractions, restaurants and shopping. Homeowner was quick to answer questions, and I really appreciate that she welcomed my dogs to stay in her cottage. A lovely place for a restful getaway.

We had a great time and were pleasantly surprised that this was the first property that we stayed at that the home was actually nicer than the pictures. Its very close to the beach and a great view from the crows nest. Plenty of outdoor living space. Would definitely recommend for any beach/outdoor lover. Also close to shopping and dining

Perfect Beach Cottage!
Very much enjoyed our stay here. It’s perfectly located on a quiet street and just a few minutes to the beach. We walked to restaurants, ice cream shop and beach daily. The house is cozy and clean with a relaxed vibe. Kitchen is very well equipped. Loved finding beach chairs and toys there. Really enjoyed all the decks too!

We enjoyed the location of this property very much. It is an easy walk to the beach. There were some kitchen items that I found to be unavailable, but we had brought some of our own things, so we did fine.
I do think some of the mattresses need replaced. They were not comfortable for a week of sleeping

Had a wonderful stay. House was great. Proximity to beach was good. Quiet and clean neighborhood. The master was very comfortable; other mattresses were uncomfortable and difficult to sleep on. Overall would recommend staying here.

Clean, comfortable and close to the beach!
We enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cottage, especially its location. The beach is one block away and there are several restaurants nearby. Sharon sent us detailed instructions before our arrival, which helped our check-in, stay, and check-out go smoothly. The home was clean, which was especially important to us amid the COVID-19 outbreak. We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces -- wide decks with chairs and a picnic table. This property is truly dog friendly (and, therefore, kid friendly, too). It has vinyl flooring throughout, so wet and sandy paws are easy to clean up after. There is a gate on the front deck and an additional baby gate inside for guests to use, which we used on the back deck to contain our dogs when we were out there. The kitchen is well appointed, and it has a nice big work space. There are extras at the house, too, like puzzles, games, books and beach chairs. I have no reservations in recommending this home to other VRBO renters.

Enjoyed our stay
The cozy cottage was a the perfect getaway for a family! Loved the location, it was only 5 minutes away from the local grocery store and the beach access was only a couple blocks away. We will be recommending this rental to our friends and family. And look forward to coming back next year!

We love this place!
This is our second year coming to the Cozy Cottage and the name is very fitting. We love this cute place and the new floors look awesome! It’s a super short walk to the beach and you can see the ocean from the front deck and crows next. A must go to restaurant is the Black Pelican and if you enjoy shopping, Duck has a super cute place with shops spread out under the trees and an awesome coffee shop called Treehouse Coffee!! We hope to be back again next year!!

Cozy as Described!
My husband and I traveled to Cozy Cottage for a few day's getaway to the Outer Banks from Maryland. The house couldn't have a better location: two short blocks from the ocean. We loved the view and ocean's roar. We particularly enjoyed the "crow's nest" deck where the wind and sky greeted us each morning.
The house itself has four bedrooms - we only used one. Everything was as described - it is a bright and cheerful beach cottage.
The kitchen is well-stocked. We didn't cook much, but there were plenty of tools (including three - count 'em! - cork screws, which we did use!), pots, pans, plates, coffee maker, toaster, etc.
Everything worked, and we were grateful for the reliable air-conditioning, Wifi, cable.
Our host left a lot of good recommendations for local restaurants, of which there were many within a couple of miles on Virginia Dare Trail.
As other guests noted, Cozy Cottage would be good for families, and for two couples traveling together. For the two of us it was very comfortable, too.

Very nice house and perfect location. Owner was friendly, responsive, and helpful. Provided great recommendations for shopping and restaurants. House was clean and decorated nicely. Smart TV had cable and streaming capability. Queen bed was comfortable although other bedroom mattresses could use an upgrade. Had a great weekend!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The house was beautiful, very comfortable and clean. We appreciated how it was close to the beach. It was also out of the way of many crowded areas so the beach didn’t have too many people. The outdoor shower below the house was great for rinsing off sand after the beach. The kitchen was fully stacked with everything we needed. Thanks!

Great Common Area
Overall we thought the house suited our needs. We appreciated the newness of the kitchen, how it was laid out, and it’s flow into the common area. The view was great from the kitchen as was the location. The only two negatives were that the beds were small and uncomfortable, and there was very little beach gear for those that travel far from out of town like us. The beds may be a reason to why we may not consider renting this property again.

The property is comfortable and accommodating. Our grandkids loved the Crow's Nest. The beach is in close proximity, and the neighborhood is quiet but friendly. We had a very nice time at the Cozy Cottage!

Excellent location close to beach
Well appointed beach home with plenty of cooking utensils and cookware. Comfortable, quiet neighborhood. my only suggestion/criticism is that you replace or cover the plastic mattress covers with a cloth mattress pad, as it makes sleeping very hot, uncomfortable and noisy. Everything is in working order. The view from the crows nest is splendid. There is a lot of outdoor living space and comfortable decking. We enjoyed our week at the Cozy Cottage.

Cozy Cottage
The house was super cute, perfect size for our family to stay. It was nice sitting on the deck in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee! It wasn’t as clean as I thought it would be upon arrival, crumbs on tables, stains on counters, kitchen cupboards needed wiping down, definitely needs a good cleaning! We also didn’t know till the day before that we’d need to bring our own bedding. Blankets and very old pillows are provided but there weren’t any mattress covers on any of the beds and the mattresses were very old, squeaky and uncomfortable, they should be replaced.
The lamp shade in one room had so much dust on it, it hadn’t been cleaned for some time. There is a list of other items we had to bring last minute since they didn’t provide them at the beach house, dish soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels and toilet paper, these are items I thought would automatically be there, we never stayed in a rental where we had to bring so many things before, most of these items are usually provided. Thank goodness I brought Disinfectant wipes to wipe everything down!
We loved how close it was to the beach, literally a minute walk and over all we thought the house was super cute!! We’d definitely stay again, recommend it to friends, we just know now what to bring and what isn’t provided. We thank you for having us and truly enjoyed our stay!!
