The house was cute with a great location. Diane (owner) met us at the dock - making the location easy to find. Diane was extremely helpful and responsive. Helped with bikes and all other needs. The house provided many amenities, including washer/dryer - convenient outside shower (also full bath inside) - grill with propane.

We had the best week in Ocean Beach. This cottage is exactly as advertised - charming and clean. Diane met us at the ferry with a wagon so we wouldn’t have to lug everything. Short walk into town, grocery store around the corner. We had our two dogs with us. Diane’s husband recommended a beach a few blocks over from Ocean Beach where dogs are allowed. We brought them there every morning - they had a blast. Would definitely stay here again!

Great little house in ocean beach near the bay side. Grocery store is right around the corner, short walk into town. Property was clean, Diane was very helpful and met us at the dock with a wheelbarrow to help move in all our stuff. Great place would recommend. This is our second time at this property.

I booked this home for a week in August. The home was as advertised, charming and perfect for a week at the beach. Every convenience was within walking distance. The sunsets were sensational. Very family friendly. Awesome host! I will definitely be back.

We loved staying at Diane and Joe's cottage in Ocean Beach, Fire Island! The outdoor space was great, and we were so happy that it was gated in, so that our dogs could be off leash outside :) Diane was also very understanding about how yappy my little dog can be, which I really appreciated!
The bedrooms are very comfortable, and felt "equal", which may be a concern for people splitting the price. We didn't use the pull-out bed in the living room. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, the coffee makers, etc. which was great.
I was worried about noise bing so close to town and the back of some restaurants, but it was only loud on two nights out of seven. However it didn't matter too much as the AC drowned out the noise.
Great cottage, we would love to return!

Very cozy cottage
Great little place toward the bay side of ocean beach. Within walking distance to everything. Grocery store is like 30 seconds away around the corner. Very convenient location. Fairly short walk to the beach. Place was clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

Lovely, unexpected getaway :)
We absolutely loved Diane and Joe's property. It was inviting and cozy and had everything we needed and more for our weeks stay. The use of the beautiful and private outdoor area as well as a grill, outdoor shower, wagon, bikes and laundry was wonderful. The cottage has an awesome location right off the bay and very close walking distance to the restaurants and stores. The beach is about a 5 min walk which we enjoyed the days the weather cooperated! Diane and Joe are awesome hosts, very friendly and accommodating and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I highly recommend their beautiful place and we will be back!

Exactly What We Needed
Finding the right beach vacation with 3 young kids (1,3, and 4) is no easy feat. We were hoping for something clean, comfortable, and easy. This cottage exceeded our expectations!!! Close to town, steps from the bay, private, and the accommodations clean and childproof. We caught sunrises in the morning and sunsets at night. Breakfast and dinner at Rachel’s Restaurant and Bakery was our favorite. Scoops for ice cream every night :) Outdoor showers every day and even got in some running on the flat walkways and beach. Kids slept like rocks after a fun day of digging holes and building castles. Wish we could do it all again!! Thank you to our gracious hosts Diane and Joe, who hopefully didn’t mind having 3 kids running around for 6 days straight :) Highly recommend and hope to make this an annual trip!

Second time even better than the first
Diane & Joe are the best hosts. The cottage is clean, cool, and so comfortable. Outside area is large and very private. 5 seconds to the bay, 5 minutes to the ocean beaches. This was our second time staying there and we love it! Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic Stay
Diane is a fantastic host with a wonderful property. Located very conveniently next to grocery stores and main restaurants, yet you still feel like you are in complete privacy. Just a few short blocks to the beach as well! We look forward to coming back soon.

Perfect getaway
The cottage was perfect and exactly what my husband and I were looking for. The location was great - only steps from the bay and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Definitely will book another stay.

A Sweet Getaway!
Diane and Joe’s sweet beach cottage provided cleanliness, comfort, and the feeling of home away from home. The amenities provided, as well as, the welcoming interactions with Diane and Joe made this stay nothing but pleasant. I would recommend anyone looking for all the above not to hesitate in booking this cottage. And the highlight was that our Golden Retriever was in heaven with a jump in the bay just steps away!

Great Little Place very close to Ocean Beach
Owners were great from the start, very flexible and accommodating. House was perfect layout for our two couples. Deck layout is perfect for relaxing after the beach. All amenities needed were already in house making it easier to just arrive and relax. Two minutes from all restaurants and bars but off to the side so quiet at Night. It was just right for us!

Perfect weekend getaway!
We loved our stay at the cottage. It is in a great location beside the bay and very close to all of the restaurants, shops and the beach. The cottage is adorable inside and out. Quaint and beautifully decorated. It has everything you could possibly need and is well kept. The homeowner was very easy to communicate with and was available if we had any questions. It’s definitely the best place to stay on fire island! I’ve stayed in plenty of beach houses around the island but the cottage was by far the cleanest and nicest I’ve stayed in. I would definitely recommend this home and hope to stay again soon!

Excellent little cottage by the bay- comfortable for 5 people + 1 dog. Diane and Joe were very attentive hosts with excellent communication. They were readily available the entire time, making sure we had everything we needed. Excellent location close to the town, but just removed enough to avoid the noise. Would love to stay here again!

Charming cottage - great location
Nicely appointed cottage with comfy beds and a cute patio to unwind on. Close to good eateries (we liked Maguires, Mathew’s and The Landing. Drinks at the Schooner Inn; pretty, relaxed setting; would skip the food, though). The best was Diane, our incredible host, who did everything she could to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable - she even helped us through some potential trip hiccups (traveling with a special needs animal).

An Awesome Labor Day Weekend!
The Cottage was perfect in every way. Located a short walk from town, steps from the bay and a small stroll to the beach. All we had to bring was some cloths and a plan to relax. The cottage was cozy and clean as well it included beach chairs, beach umbrellas, towels and so much more. Everything you need is in town...restaurants, bars, grocery stores & clothes stores.
Diane & Joe were extremely welcoming, we cant wait to go back!!!

Perfect cozy ocean beach retreat!
Private feel in a cozy comfortable beach cottage. This has all the conveniences of being in town without the noise or foot traffic. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and bedding, wonderful private outdoor space just steps from the bay and straight down the path to the ocean. Owners/managers were helpful in every way, although very little needed to be done to make this an ideal setting to enjoy a family vacation in paradise. Thank you! We'd love to return next summer!

This little gem has plenty to offer.
It definitely surpassed my expectations. The quite place to unload and forget about my high stress job and have my kids enjoy fun games, the playground next door, the convinent grocery shop in the back. Everything just works, the internet connection was better than at my house, the dish tv had all channels you can think of available. I brought my laptop to watch Netflix, and the hdtv plus the good wifi worked flawlessly. The decor is cool, full of board games for kids, and neat little beach decor. And all the things you generally miss at the hotel, like toothpaste, shampoo, towels, beach toys for kids, umbrellas, a high end bbw grill, a cart to move stuff around, etc. it's all there.
