This was our first time staying in Emerald Isle and staying at Kiaola made it so easy! The house was beautiful and clean. The owner was quick and responsive when we contacted him about locating the coffee maker in the kitchen. The nearby pool was great for the kids to take a break from the beach. Groceries and other activities were just a short drive away including mini golf and an incredible water park. We had a wonderful week at Kiaola!

My family loved staying at Kiaola! We have stayed in many different vacation rental homes in various places but NEVER in a home as well equipped as this one! It had everything we needed and even more. The kitchen was so well stocked with dishes and appliances. The extra refrigerator in the garage was great. Loved the beautiful views from the decks. Every morning we watched the dolphins swim by and every evening we watched the deer in the backyard. It all was perfect! Scott was great about communication! Truly a very special place!💙

Been coming to EI for over 30 years and loved our stay in Kialoa. It’s very rare that a property has comfortable beds in every bedroom, but everyone said how comfy they all were. We absolutely LOVED sitting at the high top deck chairs that were on the upper covered deck.
Scott was very responsive and sent someone over right away when we had sliding door problems.
Kitchen was stocked and we loved having an extra fridge in the garage for our beverages.
Very clean and updated home. Can’t wait to come back!!

We were very pleased with the property. Perfect location and the house was great. The covered deck was a great place to watch the beach or read a book. We’ve been going to this area for about 10 years and this is by far our favorite place!

The property was exactly as advertised. The beds were comfy and our three generations enjoyed large family meals of locally caught seafood at the generous dining table. The waves and the beach are among the finest in North and South Carolina.

we could not be happier with the property! it was beautiful, clean, and everything we could've asked for at a property. There were beach chairs, ping pong tables, and so much more. This was a perfect location and home for the college reunion we had waited so long to have. We will definitely be back next year! The drive (from CLT) was easy and there were grocery stores/shops/restaurants only a few driving min away. Thank you again for such a great vacation!

Everything went easily with check-in and communication with the owner. We were a little bit worried about staying in one side of a duplex but we only heard our neighbors one time. The decks and private walkeay to the beach were great!

We loved our stay. The kitchen and bedrooms are well stocked with all the necessities. Very easy walk to the beach. Great to have a covered deck and it was fenced in with a gate. Perfect for our small children! The garage had everything we needed for the beach. We will definitely return.

This property was exactly as stated in listing. We loved the lay out and enjoyed our stay.
The cons …..The coffee makers in the kitchen could be replaced as they are old …don’t drip well and the water reservoir was dirty. We also need to use the hand mixer and it was not working. There was also a shortage of the smaller eating spoons.
Pros….Apart from that we had all we needed with respect to dishes, glasses and cooking utensils.
Beds were comfortable and having them made on arrival was very nice. It was also nice having extra bath towels for towel changes later in the week.
My only other comment would be to say that the washing machine was pretty moldy and smelled pretty bad. It could use a good cleaning.
All that being said we would definitely rent again.

Great beachfront property (half of duplex). Main living space is on the third floor, so make sure all of your party can handle three flights of stairs. Has all the amenities and good ocean-front porch space.
Down side was semi-public walkway right next to us that enabled a flood of other beach-goers on "our" beach.

We had the best time last week in Emerald Isle! Kialoa was the perfect beachfront property for our family of 9. Plenty of space for all. The townhome was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well stocked. It was directly on the beach with a short, private walkway to the sand.
Scott was fantastic to work with. The second refrigerator in the garage was not working. Scott had Lowe's delivery a new one the very next day. Talk about taking care of your tenants! Having five kids in the group, a second refrigerator is a must!

Wonderful vacation at the Crystal Coast!
We had the best time last week in Emerald Isle! Kialoa was the perfect beachfront property for our family of 9. Plenty of space for all. The townhome was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well stocked. It was directly on the beach with a short, private walkway to the sand.
Scott was fantastic to work with. The second refrigerator in the garage was not working. Scott had Lowe's delivery a new one the very next day. Talk about taking care of your tenants! Having five kids in the group, a second refrigerator is a must!

Family beach vacation
We enjoyed our stay in your house. There are many things that made the stay more enjoyable. The covered top deck made it a great place to watch beach and ocean. I noticed many other houses did not have shaded top deck. Also the new composite deck and walkway is very nice. The kids and adults liked the ping pong table. Just a very relaxing vacation. Only minor issue was the side house entrance lock was sometimes difficult to get unlocked. We think you need to pull the handle towards you when unlocking to release the tension on the lock to make it work better.

It is also directly across the street from the community pool. The decks and landscaping look new and updated. We saw dolphins most mornings from the porch and enjoyed the close proximity to groceries and restaurants. The ping pong table in the garage and accessible beach chairs and sand toys were an added bonus. Our family of 11 had plenty of room and loved every minute we were able to spend on Emerald Isle! Of note, this house does not have an elevator; so, as with most oceanfront homes, the stairs to the kitchen/dining and upper bedrooms might be a concern for seniors or anyone with health challenges. (Although a bedroom and bathroom are located on the ground floor as well.) We hope to stay here again in the future!

The Perfect Beach Getaway
This property is fantastic! Though our group ended up being smaller than we anticipated (we went from a group of 6 adults and one toddler to just four adults and the toddler prior to the trip), we could easily see this townhome accommodating a much larger group. Bedrooms were spacious and laid out in such a way that everyone had privacy and a space of their own.
The home was spotless! I've never entered a VRBO property that was this clean upon arrival. And it smelled fantastic, too.
The kitchen was well-equipped and was large enough that all four adults could be in there prepping breakfast with no problems. We especially enjoyed the in-counter ice maker!
You just cannot beat the proximity to the beach! We watched nearly every sunrise the entire week from the large deck off of the family room. And I saw more dolphins at one time than I have ever seen from any beach!
Scott, our host, was WONDERFUL about promptly answering our questions along the way.
We will be back for sure!

We loved the location and the property! It was absolutely beautiful and just what we needed. However, in all the many communications we had with the owner, we were never told that the other side of the duplex was undergoing MAJOR renovations. On the Tuesday after Memorial Day, we were awakened at 9:15 on our vacation asking us to move our car (from in front of the garage on our side of the home) because they were pulling down the outside wall on the other side of the duplex. The workers were polite but if we had known we would be listening to banging and hammering each day, we would have booked elsewhere. I feel like that was a HUGE oversight and was really uncalled for.
