Arroccato sul bordo di incontaminato Silver Lake, il nostro chalet si trova su un grande terreno ondulato con vista sul lago. Il cottage è stato nella famiglia per quasi 60 anni e goduto da molti visitatori da tutti gli angoli del globo.
Il giardino all'aperto e il lungolago: un ambiente perfetto in tutte le stagioni. Nuoto, kayak e pesca nei mesi estivi, troverai l'ambientazione paradisiaca sul nostro tranquillo lago. Oppure fai escursioni nei numerosi sentieri della zona. In inverno, lo sci di fondo, il pattinaggio e le ciaspole, mentre passano accanto alle case di pesca sul ghiaccio che prendono posto sul lago, è un sogno. Troverai due kayak, giubbotti di salvataggio e tanto spazio per rilassarti in riva al lago o leggere in giardino.
Goditi la colazione, il pranzo o la cena nel patio del giardino. La nostra grande griglia Weber consente di preparare i pasti per tutta la famiglia, mentre si gode il tramonto sul Lago Argento. Le serate in chat attorno al pozzo del fuoco sono un modo perfetto per concludere la giornata.
Spostiamoci all'interno: il cottage ha tre livelli con 5 camere da letto, un bagno per ogni livello. Al piano principale, troverete una cucina ben attrezzata, camera da letto principale con un bagno completo, così come un solarium di 40 piedi per cenare mentre si affaccia Silver Lake. La grande sala con un grande camino in pietra e un comodo divano componibile è perfetta per coccolarsi con la famiglia e i cari amici; giocare a giochi da tavolo; indugiare dopo un pasto gustoso o guardare la TV.
Il piano superiore dispone di tre camere da letto (2 matrimoniali e una doppia), un bagno con vasca da bagno con piedini per ammollo e un salotto per scrivere o leggere. Tutte le camere di livello superiore si affacciano sul lago.
Il livello inferiore è pieno di luce e spazioso con un muro di finestre, che si aprono su un patio con vista sul lago. Un soggiorno aperto / sala da pranzo con TV e cucina cucina, una camera da letto con un letto matrimoniale, bagno completo e una sauna fanno per aggiunta meravigliosa allo spazio principale.

We had the good fortune of staying at this property in 2021. We always wanted to return and finally our calendars allowed for a brief albeit lovely visit this January. We had the whole house this time which was lovely and much quieter (last time there was a loud teen in the basement apartment...just weekends). The house still has spectacular views and a cozy feel. We like being in Barnard. Not far from Woodstock or some of our Ikon ski mountains. Our host is terrific. Very quick to respond! We hope to return again!

Amazing accommodation for a family on a beautiful lake in a great location

Diane's home is just stunning. It is even more expansive than the photos capture, while still being warm, welcoming, and cozy. It has everything you would need on a relaxing getaway on Silver Lake, with personal touches, and feels private despite being just a short walk to the Barnard General Store (which has groceries and prepared food, should you decide not to stray far from this beautiful home). My family stayed here while they were in town for my wedding and my parents were so happy with the space. My dad made use of the dock, going for paddles early in the morning on quiet Silver Lake and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio together the morning of our wedding. Barnard itself is such a gem of a town with so much to explore in the surrounding area but even if you never left this property, you would have the best time away! Highly recommend this space for families or that group of friends that feel like a vacation in themselves. It is hard to think of leaving the space, but if you do, be sure to go to nearby Fable Farm for their tasting room of natural wines and ciders, Kiss the Cow Farmstand, Abracadabra for coffee and donuts, Cloudland Farm for dinner. And of course, the BGS for pancakes or sandwiches. Thank you Diane for accommodating my family and making our wedding weekend all the more special.

The house, location and lake are all perfect for a family vacation. The house is beautiful yet very comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. It was great to be able to walk to the general store and the state park. The lake is one of the best for swimming, and we really enjoyed the available kayaks. Communication with the owner was excellent. Everything was wonderful, a treat to be able to stay here.

What a wonderful place to spend snowy winter days! We found the peace and beauty we were seeking, both inside, in this lovely home, and while snowshoeing on the frozen lake right outside our door. Best gas fireplace ever and the sectional couch is super comfy! Loved all the windows and the open floor plan. We had such a restorative time and we thank you, Diane. We enjoyed connecting with you!

My family and I wanted a winter vacation and we surely got it. The home was beautiful and the lake was frozen. There were sleds we were able to use and the back yard was perfect for sledding down. The house was within close distance to multiple ski resorts. We were able to visit three different ones on three different days. The view from the back looking towards the lake was breath taking.

If you are so fortunate to be able to stay at this property, you will feel as we did, that you have won the vacation Lottery.
The property is beyond clean, comfortable(all the beds too) and the care and consciousness that went into linens was not lost on us.
We were able to spread out and enjoy the views, yet come together to make dinner in the well appointed Kitchen.
Diane was so kind in reaching out during the storm(she was also in communication during our stay to unsure our comfort),
and with the whole house generator we had nothing to worry about.
Barnard and the lake offer a respite that allows you to unwind and nourish. We hope our path brings us back soon.

After a Christmas with no power, we were relieved to see the whole house generator so we could relax the second part of our trip. Comfy home, nice location and already planning a return trip!

Perfect location and home!
The overall experience was wonderful. Beautiful, well kept house. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds with nice linens. Dock and kayakers were a huge plus. My family enjoyed their stay, plenty of room.

This lakefront house was perfect for our winter getaway. It is a comfortable house but the decoration, fireplace and it’s layout in general makes it feel cozy. The interior decoration is tasteful and, the kitchen is amazing and well stocked with modern appliances.
The pictures in the listing look nice but the property is even nicer.

This lakefront house was perfect for our winter getaway. It is a comfortable house but the decoration, fireplace and it’s layout in general makes it feel cozy. The interior decoration is tasteful and, the kitchen is amazing and well stocked with modern appliances.

We had an absolutely marvelous time in the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The house had everything - cozy bedrooms, great kitchen facilities, a dock on a beautiful lake with kayaks, a sauna!, gas fireplace and on and on. All this in a glorious part of Vermont with a cute general store a few feet away and nearby Woodstock with all the restaurants and shops that amazing little town has to offer. Diane was great in communicating and we couldn't have been more pleased. Looking forward to returning in the future!

We had an absolutely marvelous time in the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The house had everything - cozy bedrooms, great kitchen facilities, a dock on a beautiful lake with kayaks, a sauna!, gas fireplace and on and on. We had a terrific time in this beautiful house right on Silver Lake. The kitchen was large and very sell stocked. The rest of the house was nicely furnished. Everything was extremely comfortable. We loved the long picture windows overlooking Silver Lake, the large comfortable common spaces, the ample bedrooms, the well-equipped kitchen and the sauna! Also, a terrific location with direct lake access and a short walk to the Barnard General Store. Great place for a family retreat. I can't think of any problems.

A slice of heaven in Vermont
My family and I stayed over Memorial Day weekend and could not have been happier. The location is amazing, with the Barnard General Store being a stone’s throw from the house, and Woodstock a few minutes’ drive away. We spent most of our time outdoors birdwatching and soaking in the incredible views and clean, fresh air but time spent indoors was just as enjoyable, snuggling in front of the fireplace, cooking together in the wonderful kitchen stocked with all the supplies you need, and falling asleep in the very comfortable beds. This is a truly magical place full of happy, loving energy and little glimpses into the extraordinary family to whom it belongs. We wrote an ode to the silver lake retreat in the guest book before dragging ourselves out of the door at checkout...we didn’t want to leave!! Needless to say, it has been officially decided that this is our new family vacation spot and we cannot wait to return.
