We enjoyed our stay at the honey barn. It was a perfect getaway cabin. It was tucked away and not too far from a coffee shop, lunch etc.

We enjoyed our stay at this location. Just the right size for us. Loved the rustic interior and yet all the modern conveniences you need. Quiet, peaceful. Enjoyed watching the Amish buggies go by. The location worked out great for travel to a couple of different parks for hiking. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely beautiful and exactly as described. Just close enough to town where finding a coffee shop/places to shop and eat wasn’t an issue, but far enough away where the stars were gorgeous and the property was peaceful and quiet. Would love to stay again in the future. Excellent experience, and communication from the host was above and beyond.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, relaxing stay over Thanksgiving weekend and this spot didn't disappoint.
The house was clean, charming and very comfortable throughout.
The property was very quiet and private.
Great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
Thank you!

Lovely place for a long weekend getaway! The fall colors were brilliant! We'll definitely return!

Bedding, linens, and towels were clean. Decorations and accessories were very dusty, dirty, and there were many cobwebs throughout the cabin. The lighting was very yellow in color and dim throughout. All amenities were well stocked and accessible.

The Honey Barn is a peaceful retreat in a gorgeous setting. The house is cozy and has everything you need, and the hosts are friendly, responsive, and attentive. We especially appreciated the porch and fire pit, where we could enjoy the sunset and listen to the owls hooting in the woods across the road. Our October drive on the county roads to Wildcat Mountain State Park was stunningly beautiful. The house is a bit closer to the road than we expected, but there's little traffic to disrupt the serenity, and we appreciated the Amish buggies trotting by. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very beautiful area. We enjoyed the Amish traveling by the cabin. We took many scenic drives and stopped by the farm stands and orchards along the way. Traveled to trout streams throughout the area and had some good luck fishing. We enjoyed grilling at the cabin after a long day of sight seeing. We look forward to coming back to the area again. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Property owner very responsive. If you like peace and quiet and beautiful view of bluffs in the valleys of the Driftless part of southern Wi. You will enjoy this house. The Amish bakery close by and the Amish going by daily was a plus.

Unfortunately the road is too busy and loud. The great room is wonderful. Needs a few repairs on the railing upstairs. And the shower should have grab bars.

We really enjoyed this quiet property. There was a constant flow of Amish horse and buggies down on the road which we really enjoyed watching. The stars are quite beautiful at night.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay! The surrounding countryside was so beautiful & quiet. A great place to visit & get away from all the hustle & bustle. The Honey Barn was very neat & clean and Rick was quick to respond when we accidentally locked ourselves out lol. We are hoping to return soon!

We loved our stay at the Honey House! It was well-equipped and clean, and Rick responded quickly to our messages. Our favorite things: the antiques and assortment of eclectic furniture and decor, the sound bar we could play our music on, the fire pit, the horses ciip-clopping by, and the peace and quiet. :)

This is the 3rd year in a row a group of us have stayed at Rick’s cabin. We locked ourselves out and he was there within minutes. Incredible host, spotless cabin, all the luxuries, safety and cleanliness of home. We will continue to stay there every year!

We enjoyed our stay, but didn't feel the description of the property was entirely accurate
The Good:
This place is beautiful with great views and a real feel of serenity.
The yard is huge, my kids and dogs loved playing, flying kites, tossing frisbees and so on.
Great place out front to have fires
Kitchen well stocked and good working order and the grill outside was top of the line
Aside from the heat, the loft sleeping area was a winner for the kids. Beds were very clean, comfortable and we very much felt at home.
The Not So Good
The pictures of this place are a bit skewed. It's not as far from the road as it appears and not nearly as big. That's not to say its tiny, but the pictures make it appear to be much larger.
The stream pictured is not across the street, at least not in any way that seems accessible. We did find a way down to it, but it was a VERY dangerous climb down a steep embankment that we made once and couldn't justify making again. That was a real disappointment for us, because the kids LOVED wading around in that stream.
The air conditioning is woefully inadequate for a barn style home with sleeping for four in the loft/attic area. An investment in some ductless units over the beds or a larger window unit would be a game changer.
We spent a couple days exploring local parks, shopping and playing in the yard, but we left a day early. With the uncomfortable heat and the stream being inaccessible, we didn't see a reason for one more day.

We absolutely loved eveything about Honey Barn!! Rick was very kind and responsive to any questions we had before our stay. Check in and out was very easy. Pulling up to the Honey Barn I could see the excitement on my family's faces instantly! Its such a beautiful property inside and out. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed. Including coffee and creamer which I had forgotten to bring! The Honey Barn was exceptionally clean and sooo cozy! Beds were very comfortable and no shortage of linens or towels. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the tree line from the front porch, campfires and watching the bunnies play in the yard. Trout stream just across the street for easy access to fishing. We seen lots of wildlife including deer, sandhill cranes and got a close look at a bald eagle that landed in the front yard. Overall 5 stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We will definitely book again!!

the honey barn was a perfect spot for our family of four and a pair of grandparents. Absolutely perfect in every way. I would highly recommend to anyone heading to the Viroqua, Westby or Cashton area.

This was our third time staying at the Honey Barn, and we'll be back again. The location is ideal for going fly fishing and i's pleasant to sit on thew front pooch and watch the buggies go by. Richard is a gracious host and is quick to resolve issue that may occur.

Horrible experience! Upon our arrival, we noticed a lot of bugs throughout the cabin. I did a quick sweep and threw out a huge pile of beetles
(alive and dead). Shortly after clean up, more beetles were on the floor, ceiling, lights, couch and windows. There was a massive amount of dead bugs in the ceiling light in the upstairs bedroom. We all kept our shoes on since they were all over the floor and we constantly would step on them.
My family had a horrible experience and unfortunately had to end our stay early. When we reached out to the host, Rick, about the massive amount of bugs, he stated they were just bugs and to deal with them. He would not provide any accommodation nor any type of refund.
Please make sure you read this before you decide to book your stay at this place. Rick does not advertise massive amount of bugs in the cabin.

What a cool property and such a unique and relaxing getaway after a winter that kicked everyone's butts. The converted barn structure leaves an open, airy floor plan and the open loft adds to the charm. LOVE the dark stained knotty pine, such a relaxing experience. A lot of guests wrote about the nice open area for pups and dogs of all ages to run and our four legged pal Archie had a GREAT time after being housebound for so much of this winter. We will be back!

We love staying at the Honey Barn. Plenty of very comfortable space for our family of 4 and our dog enjoys the wide open space to run around and explore with our kids. Great road biking from the property and plenty of hiking nearby. Can't wait until our next visit!

We did not stay long at the Honey Barn because we had a family emergency and had to drive home only an hour after arriving, but we would LOVE to return in the near future. The property and countryside were serene and beautiful. Rick was very responsive and super easy to communicate with from start to finish. He gladly returned a bag I had left in our hasty departure and even refunded me a nights stay. He was a very attentive host and I highly recommend staying at the Honey Barn!

The Honey House was the perfect place for this Irishman and his lass. It may have looked like a fancy machine shed from the outside, but it had the look and feel of a cozy cabin (a very nice cabin) on the inside It was well supplied with all the accouterments you would expect of a nice living space. The beds were comfy and the heated floor throughout the cabin was like the icing on a delicious cake. A doff of my paddy cap to Janie and Rick for allowing us to stay in their Honey House.

Relaxing stay at the Honey House. Everything was as described. Clean and cozy with all the typical amenities vacationers seek. I traveled solo but there is more than enough space for a family or group of friends. The owner, Rick, was quick to respond to any questions I had even with the challenge of spotty phone coverage in parts of the Driftless.
Great central location for exploring the Driftless. The West Fork of the Kickapoo being right across the road. Westby and Viroqua a short drive away. The Kickapoo Valley Reserve not much longer of a drive.
I highly recommend a stay at the Honey House if you visit the Driftless.

Second time staying at the Honey Barn - another great experience. Clean, great space w plenty of room for relaxing or playing games. Nothing was missed. The full Wolf Moon was seen from the sky light above the upstairs loft bed. Heated floors and two electric fireplaces kept us warm and cozy.

Overall a great property to spend a few days at! The barn is welcoming and cozy. As a critique I would say it is a bit dusty and there are Japanese Beetles inside of the building. The kitchen is decently supplied but the items could be better quality so cooking on property is more attainable. The beds are comfortable and there is various seating to use in a myraid of ways, as well as great lighting that can be adjust to suit multiple needs. I would also add that the gps does bot lead you to the location. The location is about another 10 miles out. It would be helpful if this information was offered upon booking or noted elsewhere. We would definitely stay again!
