Had a AWESOME Valentines weekend with my girlfriend the place was clean nice and cozy the hottub did great the 1st night but couldn't seem to get it to temperature the 2nd night prob cause it was so cold out its only a mile or so from the state park and a bunch of neat little shops grills and whatnot right down the road too will definitely be going again perfect little get away for lovers

Fireplace and hot tub were great for romantic getaway. Only minor negative was the fireplace was full of ash on our arrival. Lots of burntout candles were left throughout property

Upon arrival the cabin was not marked so we had no idea what cabin was ours. We found the name plate on the ground. The cabin smelled like sewer the entire time. They have sewer gas coming back into it. The kitchen and bathrooms where so dirty. The fireplace ash had not been cleaned out and was full. The hot tub was set at 108 degrees....too hot to stay in and after 2 minutes was about to pass out. The water was so full it over flowed with 1 person. When the water was over flowing we notice the outside electrical outlet was out of the wall and open!!! Trash left in cabin....boxes piled up in corner. Would have enjoyed the views if I could actually see out of the windows. The windows are so dirty you can't see out them. The slider has a broken seal and is all fogged up. The bed in the loft is about to break. I laid across to see the firmness and the bed moved so much I was afraid to sleep on it so we stayed on main floor. The carpets are stained and not vacuumed in bedrooms. Under the bed looked like it hadn't seen a vacuum in months. In the kitchen was a dead cockroach about 3" long on the floor. I had to wash anything I used....cup, plate, etc. The cabin needs a remodel desperately. Will not stay there again!

My family and I have just enjoyed our stay at the Mohican Cabin. It was an exceptional location, close enough to town (Chimney Rock Village) for a 20 minute walk, which is important, especially during busy times. The owner, Jerry, is extremely hands on. Upon our arrival the cabin was very cold due to the recent winter storm and within 24 hours he was able to provide three additional space heaters. He was also quick to provide recommendations on must-do attractions nearby. The cabin is ideal for a family. The cabin provides incredible views of Chimney Rock. The hot tub was a welcome escape after a day of hiking through Chimney Rock State Park. The fireplace was welcoming & inviting. Jerry's cabin offered a cozy atmosphere and we will definitely be making another trip to the Mohican Cabin again soon!!

Great cabin, had a few issues but owner and manager very responsive. I would suggest giving a few more directions for checkin, especially if checking in after dark. Overall very nice.

We had an amazing stay. The hot tub was perfect, the location was up the hill away from everyone else. House had kitchen items and a grill, fireplace. The res so many places you can buy wood from in the area too so no worries finding some. The only thing I would suggest is to bring some Redboxs. The cabin does have DVDS. We were 10 mins from chimey rock and 15 to hendersonville and lake lure. Perfect location. Overall our stay was so fun and we look forward to coming again next year.

Nice getaway! Enjoyed the hot tub and location. Road to property is narrow and steep. A few minor updates would be great.

We had a nice time. Really enjoyed the close proximity to Chimney Rock State Park.

Me my husband and my friends came here to have a nice get away and it was nice the hot top was perfect and the place was nice had a few minor problems but other then that it was nice.

Tv broke in master bedroom downstairs other than that had a great stay!

This is the first time I have done a review, but this place was disappointing enough that I feel it was necessary. We've stayed in many mountain cabins, and this one we certainly the worst of them. I read the older reviews but had hoped things would have been improved. I wouldn't have written a bad review like this, but it's obvious the owner hasn't addressed any of the concerns over at least a few years so just didn't want anyone else to be as disappointed as we were. Sorry to Jerry the owner, but if you don't invest in your properties you can't expect to have happy customers that will give you good reviews

It could be a nice place , but the kitchen was dirty with mouse dropping underneath the cabinets. The shower was not clean . It definitely has a need for updates and repairs.

This cabin has a lot of potential to be amazing. Unfortunately it was not. The Positives - Location is awesome! The way the house was built with the wooden walls are beautiful.The wood burning fireplace worked well and we used it nightly as it was super cold in the house otherwise. The Negatives - We are not picky and did not expect perfection with a cabin but this house is in serious need of a deep cleaning. The skylights would be beautiful, if you could see out of them, even after we had a really long and hard rainstorm it did not help at all. The cobwebs in between each rail of the stairs looks like no one has been here for months. The windows were also just as dirty. It looks like the cleaning crew does the absolute bare minimum to keep this house in order. It is extremely off putting to find 4 different kinds of rat/mice killer in the bathroom cabinets (thankfully we did not see any) We did kill two HUGE spiders a day which we think were coming from somewhere in the downstairs bathroom. The hot tub did not get hot. The bubbles worked but no matter what we did, it never got hot. In the closets of the bedrooms, extra blankets were crumpled in a ball looking like someone just shoved them all in there and the ones on the beds all had a moldy and musty smell. It looks as if it was once loved awhile ago but it has been left to just deteriorate and no one is no longer putting any effort to take care of its upkeep. With a little TLC and updates this rental would seriously be amazing.

Driveway very steep would be difficult in rain. Not all of the electric plugs worked. The cabin sleeps four in comfort. It would be nice if their were 4 place settings, glasses that matched and 4 chairs that matched for the table on the porch. The table in the dining area sags in the middle. For someone like myself directions as to how to open the lock would be helpful.

We had such a wonderful time staying at the cabin! Very clean and had everything we needed. My son loved the fireplace and the hot tube! Would recommend to anyone and we hope to go back and stay again!

Everything was perfect, super roomie, quiet, and overall very pretty. Only downside is all the bugs and multiple spider webs. Spiderwebs looked as though they had been up for a huge time

Power went out on first night did not come back on till 2 in morning there was no matches or flash light. Needs new towels and linens. Bathroom floor in downstairs needs to be replace. Needs a good cleaning. It was nice a nice and quite place

We went up for a weekend with another couple and we had plenty of room and privacy. The covered back porch was awesome, since it rained most of our stay. I would stay here again.
