The atmosphere, the decoration and the staff’s welcoming attitude.
Some parts of the structure could use a bit of restoration.

Seating in the open area was not the most comfortable and the blinds in the room were blocked by the vintage table from closing entirely

The tasteful decor, the spaciousness, and the hotel’s perfect location. The good breakfast althought the breakfast hours (8:30-9:50) are pretty shorts if you need an early start.
Too many annoying rules, and above all: no real willingness to help travelers during their stay. In particular, it is not possible to leave your luggage after the 11 a.m. check-out unless you pay an extra fee to store it until 3 p.m. at the latest, which is ridiculous. Otherwise, the staff simply smile and tell you to find a locker by yourself. If you have luggage and want to enjoy your last day in Tainan, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
The ironic part is that the hotel is huge and clearly has plenty of space to store luggage 😅
