Albie's cottage: Cute secluded timber home on a bush block by the sea
Albies cottage è una piccola casa in legno a due piani, a pochi passi dalla baia di Killiecrankie. E 'familiare, pulito, calmo e tranquillo, e arredato in modo semplice e pratico. Il posto può essere descritto come shabby chic piuttosto che standard di hotel in acciaio inossidabile. C'è una piccola camera da letto al piano superiore con un letto matrimoniale e uno studio al piano superiore con un letto singolo, un divano letto matrimoniale, una buona collezione di romanzi e libri di cucina e una lunga scrivania. Al piano inferiore c'è una cucina-salotto e una piccola lavanderia e bagno. Il cottage si trova su un isolato di mezzo acro, e non può essere visto dalla strada. È un po 'in salita, e non è adatto alle persone con problemi di mobilità. A causa delle scale ripide, non è adatto ai bambini piccoli. Sarebbe ideale per chi finisse un progetto di qualche tipo, o semplicemente per una vacanza tranquilla vicino alla spiaggia.
Ci sono cucine e prodotti per la pulizia di base in cucina, e tutte le lenzuola e gli asciugamani, un kit da cucito e alcuni strumenti. Tuttavia, non c'è negozio nel villaggio, e il supermercato, il pub e l'aeroporto sono a circa 40 minuti di auto a Whitemark. Mentre in teoria è possibile fare a meno di un'auto, in pratica bisognerebbe quasi certamente noleggiarne una sull'isola. Durante le vacanze scolastiche, le auto a noleggio sono difficili da prenotare, quindi si prega di pianificare in anticipo.

Lovely place with gorgeous view over the bay from the upstairs balcony.

Quiet and secluded cottage. You will need to park your car at the bottom of the driveway and walk uphill a short distance. Short stairs up to the front decking are slippery in the wet. Upstairs small patio has a nice view of the bay and mountain.We felt a bit disappointed with the general cleanliness, lots of old cobwebs. The shower had a dried up used flannel hanging on the tap and the shower base had dust / dirt. Definitely needed a vacuum clean throughout the whole place.Glasses and other crockery sitting up on the shelf were greasy and dusty, some cooking items in the cupboard, under the sink were dusty/ dirty. We ended up washing everything we needed to use first in the kitchen.There was a lot of other personal items left in the laundry area. (hair /skin products etc. (I guess left over from previous tenants). The soap holder for hand washing was caked in old stained dried soap had an old yellow grimy piece of soap on it. We left that alone! However the bedding and towels were clean and fresh.Plenty of room, the heater worked well.Phone reception only Telstra. No WiFi but they have plenty of CD's for background music if you like their style!It's the quiet end of Flinders which is lovely. Short walk to the beach and fossicking. Lots of wallabies and wombats to see as you walk to the beach.

The house was just right for two. We found it comfortable. Plenty of wildlife in the surrounds - it was fun seeing wombats everywhere. The location was peaceful, the night sky from the balcony upstairs was amazing and there was the right amount of walking from the house to the beach. We could have stayed for a month.

For our first trip visiting Flinders Island we couldn’t have imagined finding such a quiet quaint property like this. Everything we needed and more was provided, the home was relaxing and made us feel like we weren’t just visiting we were in our own getaway house.As we both like fishing maybe a suggestion to have a few fishing rods for guests to utilise while staying is the only thing we would have liked but overall there is nothing else we could have desired for a great weekend away. We will definitely be back and thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise. Kind regards Dan and Mel.
