My husband and I stayed here for a week and we did not want to leave. Susan’s cabin is very special and one of a kind! She was a great host and replied quickly if we had any questions. This place is truly magical and I would highly recommend! 5 stars for sure!! ❤️

We enjoyed our stay in the woods. A nice place, quiet, peaceful, and funky in a positive and creatively stimulating way. Beautiful view of the bay. Plenty of natural light coming in. Close enough to walk to the quite impressive Roche Harbor area. The host was friendly and helpful. We would definitely return for another visit.

Last minute booking. Worked out very well. The property was well prepared for us, rustic, quaint, and relaxing. Very close proximity to Roche Harbor. Terrific view from cabin of Westcott Bay. We’d love to return.

We have rented many wonderful places on SJI, but this is by far the best. The cabin is simply wonderful and the location and views are superb. Susan has equipped the cabin exceedingly well. It is very comfortable and charming. We cannot recommend this highly enough!

A lovely cabin with a great water view. Lots of personal touches in the decor. Obviously owned by a person with an artistic bent. Fresh oysters, clams and mussels at the end of the road. Farmers Market in Friday Harbor on Saturday. Easy drive to beautiful beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved the cabin, the views, the beach access. Perfect for our family of 4
We hope to stay here again! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. Very comfortable beds. We enjoyed walking on the beach at low tide.

Just as expected!!
We loved our visit to this unique home! It reminded my family of a "gnome house" complete with moss along the lane! It was obvious the homeowner put a lot of thought and energy into building this cabin by repurposing materials. We enjoyed playing games in the evening and our morning coffee and evening wine with beautiful views of the bay. The photos represent it well.

Peaceful and serene, we loved watching the sun go down from the little outside deck below the house.
Very secluded, yet easy access to main island roads. We hiked and biked all over, and it was a delight to come "home" to the cabin to cook and enjoy the sunsets. Lovely sunrises too!

We had a bit of a rough start, do to a scheduling mix up. I give the owner, Susan, the highest accolades for making everything right for us. We had glorious weather, so were gone exploring most of the time. You would totally enjoy this cabin in bad weather also with it's well supplied kitchen, many books & games & dvd player to watch movies. The view of the bay is beautiful & we had deer visit in the yard.

Just as charming as we remembered
We loved sharing the space with our kids l. The eclectic nature of the cabin feels cozy and warm and the views of Westcott Bay are lovely. Finding the washer dryer was an unexpected bonus, too!

Wonderful relaxed cottage with lots of charm.
Great view, quiet, lots of wonderful touches-books, games, cooking utensils, etc. walking distance to English camp, Roche harbor and oyster farm. Loved it.

Perfect and authentic
Many great dinners were had out of this well- equipped kitchen. Rich times with family were set in this wonderful cottage with its great layout and welcoming interior design. We settled in and immediately reached for the extensive and impressive literary offerings and view of the bay. We loved it, every minute.

Delightful and unique
We LOVED our time on the island and especially in your lovely cabin. We went out with a realtor looking at property and places for sale and my husband kept saying he wished we could just find a place like that!

July 2014
My husband, our two school-age kids, and I rented the Westcott Woods cabin for a week at the end of July in 2014.
What an amazing week, and the house was absolutely a big part of it. Cozy, comfortable, with plenty of room, and all the amenities. The kids said it felt like a fairy tale cottage tucked in the woods and overlooking the water. We picked blackberries (not *quite* ripe enough), we stargazed, we enjoyed the ravens and eagles in the surrounding trees....
And the property is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from both Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor, so it was a piece of cake to get to various attractions and restaurants (e.g,. English Camp, Kayaking, Whale Watching).
At night, we'd sit outside and enjoy the stars or go inside and enjoy the various games the house is equipped with (my daughter's particular favorite was Bingo).
What a delight! Thanks, Susan, for sharing your house with us. It truly felt like a home away from home!

Beautiful, welcoming space
I cannot recommend Westcott Woods highly enough. I spent an idyllic weekend there with my boyfriend, brother, and sister-in-law. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, and clearly so well loved by its owners. It was the perfect size for two couples. It was well-equipped, decorated with a discerning eye, and very comfortable. It reminded my brother and I very much of our beloved family cabin in Vermont, and felt like home as soon as we arrived. Perfect for a weekend of relaxing, spending time with loved ones, making music, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors. Thank you for the perfect weekend getaway!

Amazing views and a great location.
The cabin itself was exactly what I was looking for: rustic, semi-secluded and totally relaxing. The views are amazing—especially if the weather is nice. The inside has a well-appointed kitchen and all of the comforts of home. The two wood-burning stoves will keep the place very warm, once you get the fires going. If you stay here, make sure to see the bald eagle feeding. It's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. 10/10 would recommend.

The most amazing experience... EVER!
This cabin experience was everything we could have hoped for. The place was so cozy and romantic, the views where amazing, and the attention to detail was perfect. Everything we needed to have a great/comfortable time was there and well labeled. We almost didn't want to tell our friends so we could keep the place all to our selves! But we just can't imagine others not being able to enjoy this lovely place. Thanks Westoctt Woods - We will be back for sure!

Quiet, comfortable and we'll be back
This was just what was needed - a perfect respite in a beautiful, quiet setting. Spent almost a week here and wish it was longer - easy to get around to all the spots on the island though mostly we loved coming back to this spot and reading and hanging out. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and a short walk to the most amazing oysters I have ever eaten! Surrounded by blackberries at this time of year so I had to spend some time baking muffins and a delicious crumble - having time to bake, read, walk and sit and listen to the wings of the birds overhead made the time very special. Cottage lovingly decorated in the style that felt like home to me - you can tell this spot is well cared for; thank you for sharing it. San Juan Island is defintely a place to return to.

San Juan escape!
I spent 3 lovely days at Wescott Woods. The cabin was rustic, charming and very cozy. It was difficult to leave to explore the island. It is out of the main city and so peaceful. It is still is to travel to all the sites San Juan has to offer but just enjoying the cabin itself is reason enough to go there! Thank you for sharing your unique property with us!

We had the best time, our teenage daughter commented it was one of her favorite places – the eagles were amazing, we also went clamming, visited local parks, and enjoyed an outside fire in the evenings. Thanks for sharing this very special place with us.
