Mike was so gracious, accommodating and a pleasure to meet! The cottage provided everything we needed and the location was perfect! Loved the sounds of the roaring river from the backyard! We will be back!

Thos was our second time staying at this property and we had a wonderful stay. It is close enough to the ski resorts, restaurants and casinos while providing a peaceful and quiet place to stay. The property is gorgeous with the rushing creek and hiking options.

This property and our host, Mike, made our stay at this stunning retreat an amazing and memorable experience. Our visit coincided with historic snowfall in the Sierras, literally hundreds of thousands of tons of snow shut down highways, cut power, caused avalanches, etc. but we arrived to a freshly plowed road and driveway with even a hand-shoveled pathway to the front door through 4 foot deep blasting snow. And that was just the beginning. Our host, Mike, texted us to see that we'd arrived safely and texted again in a couple days to see if all our needs were met. They certainly were !! Every aspect of this immensely appealing little lodge is perfect. It's very clean, which to me is important and the linens and towels are far better quality than those in many hotels. The downstairs master bedroom is perfect yet the upstairs is nicely appointed as well, and can accommodate a family comfortably. The decor is current and the property doesn't show much age, especially considering the winter conditions. Both Wifi and satellite TV worked very well for us, despite the historic stormy weather. Cell coverage is spotty but our InReach satellite device worked perfectly. Unfortunately we were unable to see the creek during our stay (it was buried in the snow) but we fell asleep to its soothing sound at night and spoke about how splendid this private little treasure of a place is. The surrounding near-vertical mountains afford soaring views of boulders and pines... a photographer's dream. Aspens sprinkled around the property lend another opportunity for terrific photos or to simply enjoy their part of the endless breathtaking views. Our night vision viewing and photographing equipment worked wonderfully with low ambient lighting surrounding us. At any time of the year this home is a treasure not to be missed. This was an exceptional experience. I felt like I was staying in the mountain cottage of a good friend who wanted to make sure that my family was comfortable. Pictures can’t really show all of the attention to detail, the warm fire place, and the well stocked kitchen, clean bathroom and shower, etc. My last visit to the area I stayed 3 days at the Edgewood resort. For the purpose of relaxing and enjoying life in the Sierras this is a far better option. It would also make for a great romantic getaway. If arriving In the evening in the snow it would be good to arrive with food as this is located in a quieter area without the commercial traffic.

We came for the snow and nature and that’s what we got. Awesome sledding hill out back. Cottage was better than expected and much nicer than the photos. Great bedding and towels. Everything you need for a family of four. We want to come back in summer to check out the creek! Thank you!

This was perfect for our family stay. We spent an entire morning roaming around the river bed behind the cottage, and were thrilled to find so many games in the loft. There’s a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, and crock pot to satisfy most light cooking needs. The fireplace heater was more than adequate to keep the house warm during nights in the 40s.

This is a beautiful cottage right on the river, surrounded by lovely aspens and craggy cliffs. Perfect base for enjoying fall color.

This cottage is wonderful. Very well appointed with lots of charging stations, luxurious furniture and upgraded decor. However you walk outside and you’re in the trees with the sounds of nature and running water. Perfect combination of comfort and serenity

Lovely place we would stay again!

We stayed for two nights and loved it. From the beautiful river and babbling brook to the fun loft and great beds, we loved every part. We will be coming back.

Our cottage stay was wonderful. It is well appointed, peaceful, very comfortable. It is private and surrounded by nature-- trees, including Aspens, mountains, birds, a river, and the starts at night are brilliant. We needed a relaxing retreat to recharge and were so glad to be at this place.

It was so positive that I am hoping to make this at the very least an annual trip

We had such a nice time at Mike's cabin. It is actually even nicer than it looks in the pictures! Super clean and has lots of amenities and nice touches, like extra towels and games to play. Our 5 year old was obsessed with the little stream just behind the property and loved "his" room (the loft.) The kitchenette was great, it doesn't have a stove but we didn't really need one. It's nice to have a big fridge as we brought food with us.

Very lovely & peaceful cottage! We enjoyed being near the river, especially in the evenings when we sat outside & could catch a cool breeze while having Happy Hour & dinner. Although, a person does need to be cautious about climbing over the rocks that lead from the backyard down to the lower part of yard. It would be nicer/safer if there were actual steps put in. The owner, Mike, was friendly, helpful & easy to communicate with, and he was most accommodating about providing the gas grill so we could cook outdoors. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed. We also slept quite well in the comfortable King size bed! The only downside to our visit was that, unfortunately, the daytime temperatures were 100+ degrees...of course we had no idea that it would be so hot when making our July reservation back in the early Spring! The cottage does have a ceiling fan, plus 2 large standing fans provided as well, but no a/c. There are many screened windows on all sides of the house, so when it did finally cool down at night we had good cross ventilation. Also, by closing all the windows in early morning and lowering the shades, we could keep the house at a fairly comfortable temperature during the day. It would've been even nicer if the doors had been equipped with screen doors, too. Over all we had a wonderful, relaxing time & enjoyed our visit on the Carson River! We'd love to come again in the Fall, when all the beautiful Aspen trees surrounding the cottage have turned golden, and snuggle by the fire on a crisp, cool evening! Well appointed, lovely property. Although there is no kitchen, the toaster oven, micro and hot plate are sufficient if you have a small group. There were only 2 of us so it was sufficient. Great place!

Cozy and quiet cottage.

My wife and I came middle of the week with our 2 kids. Can’t say enough about the natural beauty of this spot, but the cabin itself was perfect in every way too. The kids especially liked the loft with stacks of board games and the views out the skylights. We will definitely be back!

The cottage is very cozy, well maintained, and clean. The owner has done an excellent job to offer comfort to the guests. It has everything we need. We were very happy to stay at the cottage for the last few days of our anniversary trip to CA. It made it extra special.

Property and the stay was wonderful- greatly enjoyed the grounds, the running river in the back and the privacy. Wonderful overall!

It is located along side the river with a well landscaped private beach. We most appreciated the privacy and sighting of the property. It is the last road accessible property in that section of the river and right at the base of the mountain, a very beautiful sighting. There is a larger, main house near the cottage, but it was unoccupied when we were there. The check-in glitch was not having cell service outside the house (internet service inside was good). We did not print out the access code before we left so had to drive into Gardnerville to get access to the VRBO web site and the access code. Our lesson, dont rely on cell phone coverage!
