We enjoyed our stay here. Close to everything! The kids loved having their own space. Kitchen had everything we needed. Parking was great. Communication with property manager was very easy. Great coffee shop right across the street!

Convenient to shopping
Had to speak with the owner several times during our stay. She communicated with me in a timely manner and extremely eager to help with the issues we were having.
The backyard at the property is not huge but gave our grandkids and granddog a safe place to play without worry of traffic.
Unfortunately, there is a nightclub extremely close to the house in which we could hear the thumping inside the house however the only time we could hear the actual singing was when we were outside. They were playing good music so we just enjoyed it while we hung out.
We had four vehicles (2 large pickups, 1 van, and 1 car) during our stay but parking was never a problem. The drive is a meant for one car but there is ample parking off to the side.
The only problem we ran into was having a bathroom that is open to the entrance/exit to the backyard. We worked around the issue and made it work for us.
There are two bathrooms with showers but no tub however there is an outdoor shower which was quite handy after a day at the beach.
All in all, our stay was great and I certainly thank the owner for communicating with me throughout our stay.

We enjoyed the fact that we could walk to restaurants, taverns, grocery store, beach, etc. The back yard was really nice for relaxing, bonfires, games, etc. Loved the boathouse as well, how unique is that?!? Madelyn was nice to talk with and helpful when we had a question.

We were very happy with the accommodations. Madelyn was extremely responsive and helpful. We stayed with our 2 adult children. Having the boat house meant everyone had plenty of space. We didn't do much cooking, but we did make use of the coffee maker and there seemed to be plenty of supplies if you did want to cook.
Our only knock on the place isn't really something the hosts can control. While we really did enjoy and take advantage of being centrally located with lots of options in walking distance, the live music venue a couple buildings down means you could have sleepless nights. Through most of our week, they had acoustic one man performers. That was fun and allowed us to sit out back and enjoy live music from the house. It was easy to call it a night and go to sleep with them. Our last 2 nights, though, they had a full band and the bass literally shook the house. We could all deal with that except it went on until 2am both Friday and Saturday night, which IMHO is excessive. The city of Port Aransas really should do better in that regard. We've been to very expensive concerts that shut down by 11pm, due to noise ordinances. Letting the extremely loud music go until 2am shouldn't be considered acceptable. I suspect if we were making that much noise that late, we would have gotten a visit from the local law. Again, I don't see this as the fault of the host, but it is something I think people should know could be an issue. Madelyn if you think it would be helpful to write someone at the city and you have a contact, please let us know. We'd be glad to share this. Or you're welcome to show it to them.

It is a quaint, older home, but is well-kept and very comfortable. It is within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the beach! The fold-out couch contains an air mattress that was quick and easy to air up and was surprisingly comfortable! The guest house/boat house was perfect for my teen daughter and her best friend. They enjoyed having their own space and it worked well because they like to sleep in and we like to get up early to fish! It has a very nice fenced back yard with outdoor lighting and a charcoal grill that we put to good use. It was a great set up and we had a fabulous time!

I cannot express how wonderful it was to step inside my Grandpa's old house again. It had been since 1983 and Madelyn has done a remarkable job on the place...My Grandpa Revell, I'm sure rests easy knowing how the old place has held up and being well taken care of. Everything you need is there that you would need except for your food and fun, and I can guarantee you will not have problems getting that either...Thank you so much Madelyn, we'll be back!

We went to Port Aransas AFTER the february storm, 2-27 to 3-6. We had reservations for 13-20th. Madelyn, offered a later date due to the storm. There was some plumbing damage to her cottage due to the storm. No fault of the owner. The owner, Madelyn, found a great place for us to stay for the week. She was very concerned that we have a great Port A experience. She even purchased a sleep aid for my wife who had been waking up at 3 AM (before we were in PA). She is amazing and went above and beyond anything we had ever experienced before through VRBO. We did have a great vacation all because of Madelyn!
