Questo delizioso cottage, Golden Glen, è un gioiello per il relax e la tranquillità in un ambiente perfetto di serenità. Si trova ai margini di 2200 acri di NY State Forest e boschi lussureggianti. La parte posteriore si affaccia su un burrone con un ruscello, completo di una piccola cascata. L'interno è deluxe con una bellissima zona giorno e cucina completamente attrezzata, 2 comode camere da letto decorate magnificamente e tutti i comfort di casa. Il soggiorno fa parte della grande sala che comprende la cucina e la zona pranzo. C'è un grande camino in pietra a gas per serate accoglienti. Le pietre sono state tutte raccolte dal torrente e dai boschi circostanti.
I bagni sono spaziosi e dispongono di docce piastrellate. Poi ci sono i portici incredibili !! Il posto preferito di tutti è il portico schermato che corre per tutta la lunghezza della parte posteriore del cottage. È confortevole e l'ambiente è completamente circondato dalla natura. C'è anche un falco che ha fatto il suo nido in cima a un albero vicino alla casa !! È lì da un paio d'anni. C'è un mazzo fuori dalla camera da letto al piano superiore che è un ottimo posto per guardare le stelle in una notte calda. La lavatrice e asciugatrice completa gli sforzi del proprietario per rendere questa una vera casa lontano da casa.

We stayed here for 2 nights to spend a weekend snowboarding at Holiday Valley. Perfect location close to Ellicotville and it was so nice to have a clean, warm, and peaceful spot to return to after being at the mountain. The house was adorable and surprisingly spacious! Very clearly a well-loved and taken care of home, it was bright and clean. Bette was a wonderful host! Would definitely love to stay here again in the future!

Oh gosh! We had so much fun. In our group, it was my wife and me, my brother and his wife, and my sister and her husband. Ages ranged from 50 to 70. The cottage was exactly as pictured. It was very clean and well decorated. We could appreciate the interior decor, including many older artifacts. The beds were comfortable, the dining table was perfect for our evening game sessions, the kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils we needed. Not everyone is an outdoor type, but a few of us are. We took a trip to Allegany State Park for a nice hike one day, a trip to the Seneca Casino, and one day we took a walk " around the block" which was actually about a 4 mile hike. Just a heads up, it seemed like that walk was uphill the entire way. I'm not sure if it was because we were there in the dead of winter, but the surroundings were so peaceful. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who enjoys the great outdoors.

This is the perfect little getaway for a long ski trip. Close enough to the slopes but far enough away to enjoy a quiet evening away from it all.

Our family loved staying at Bette's place. She was super responsive and the cabin was incredibly comfortable. The gas fire place and screened in porch were highlights. It is close to Ellicottville and just yards from a park.

My Husband and I will definitely be back to this beautiful piece of Heaven! Bette is an amazing and caring person. She went above and beyond to make our stay one of the most memorable vacation. We absolutely loved the screened in porch and the top deck! We had family both weekends come and visit from Canada , and they were in awe about the cottage and the surroundings. We will always have beautiful memories of our trip and especially Bette who non stop works to please everyone! We’re looking forward to seeing her again! The cabin was very clean. Very nice with all the amenities we expected. It is on a quiet road and provides plenty of privacy. The back porch is great for quiet afternoons in the shade. Even though it was July, the temperatures during the day stayed in the 70s and there was usually a cool breeze.
Very close to the Allegheny National forest so we did lots of hiking and other outdoor activities.
Bette did a great job of preparing the cabin and helping us get checked in. No complaints.

The drive takes you to a secluded but populated area, the house is warm, inviting, and positively comforting. We had a great weekend stay, and enjoyed the neighboring towns. We could t wait to return to the house, if you are looking to relax this is one.

Bette was even kind enough to let us check out late and enjoy the property just a bit longer. Even though we didn’t have cell service, the wifi was strong and we enjoyed being in the forest! If you love nature, this is the perfect home!

Although the weather was rough (no snow) the house was amazing! We enjoyed bundling up, sitting on the screened in porch listening to the creek. It was easy to get to the slopes or into town. We will definitely return.

This place is a little treasure nestled in a quiet and peaceful setting. Very clean and updated property. Communication with the owner/manager was very easy. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

We loved this property. Very clean, cozy and just as pictured. The property around the house was so nice. Being cold and snowy we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the screened in porch, but when we stuck our heads out, we could hear the lovely lull of the babbling creek right outside. It would be a wonderful place to spend some time out there during warmer months. Downtown was only about 10-15 minutes from the house. Plenty of shopping and restaurants to choose from. Our host, Bette, was wonderful to work with and easy to contact. I’m hoping to grab a couple sisters and rent there this summer. It was a great choice for us.

The renovations in this property are impressive - a beautiful mix of original, antiques, and modern amenities. It was more than we expected. The screen porch is amazing. The drive into Ellicottville is easy and being in the woods made it the best of both worlds.

The home is cozy - a wonderful location surrounded by woods. The boys loved exploring in the wooded area around home.
The fireplace is such a nice touch, there is a full washer/dryer, comfy beds and nice large bathrooms on each level. The top level has a wonderful roof top deck.
Would definitely visit/stay again if we come back to the area.

Beautifully appointed cottage with comfortable furnishings. Loved the fireplace and the screened porch! Peaceful quiet location - away from it all but less than a 15 min. drive to the great town of Ellicottville. We would definitely return!

If you want a place to just relax, this place is for you! We spent a lot of time on the screened in back porch with a view of the forest and sounds of the creek. We also hiked every day and went in town in the afternoon for food!

We enjoyed staying here! Very clean and easy check in. The back porch was the best! Calm serenity. We were surprised to find no A/C in the house- but apparently that is normal around these parts. The manager supplied fans. Also, the Dish satellite didn’t work - so we were only able to watch the DVD’s provided. But, that didn’t bother much with our plans- since we enjoyed playing board games and eating on the back porch.

Monarch butterfly welcomed us at the door
We loved our time at Golden Glen. We came to celebrate one of our birthdays as close to nature, good weather and peace and quiet as we could find. I don't know how the caretaker managed this but a monarch butterfly greeted us by the front door as we arrived, welcoming us into this oasis, and hung throughout our stay. Auspicious! It seemed like every time we turned around, we were surprised and delighted by the serenity of the cottage and surrounding forest. We cooked meals together, went on 2 hikes, explored the lovely Ellicottville town and relaxed in all of the outside spaces (especially the wide, screen back porch). We are grateful for the thoughtful touches of beauty and convenience of the cottage. A joyful birthday celebration indeed. With any luck, we will return soon!

Beautiful cottage in the woods!
This place was stunning. So quiet and serene. Very little traffic, and less than 15 minutes from town. Bette was the perfect host. My kids are already asking to go back!

A lovely property, secluded and quiet yet close to everything. Spacious and comfortable with everything curated to perfection. Furniture, beds, bathrooms, porch, deck, artwork... all of the highest quality. It outdid our expectations on every front.

Great getaway!
Wonderful place to stay. No neighbors, sitting on the border of a state forest. The screened porch looking over the woods with a babbling brook was heavenly. The level of thought and detail in this place made for a great stay.

Very nice house - very secluded, Muddy yard
The house was very nice and the pictures provided accurately reflected the house. It was clean. It is very secluded and any phone calls had to be completed using wi-fi calling. The wi-fi did work well. We felt the the upstairs bed sort of sagged in the middle. Downstairs bed was fine. I had a hard time finding the dishes and glasses (they are stored under the steps). We we found to be unacceptable was that the yard was a mud pit. You had to walk through significant mud to get to the house and there was no way around it. My husband had a boot on after having foot surgery and it was very difficult for him maneuvering through the mud. We actually resorted to putting plastic bags over our shoes to walk to and from the car. There needs to be some sort sidewalk installed or significant amount of gravel spread to make this workable. I would not stay here again unless this was fixed.

Great location
The location was great and it was exactly what we were looking for. The only negative thing I have to say is the furniture is old and very uncomfortable, not great if you have a bad back.
