Grace's Place, a Real Maine Cottage
Grace's Place è un vero cottage di Maine, con pavimenti in pino e un camino in pietra lavorata. Cammina lungo il sentiero di una spiaggia di sabbia e di pietra, leggendo un libro sul portico interno o sul ponte esterno con una splendida vista su Harpswell Sound, Bailey's e Orr's Islands e l'oceano aperto oltre, mentre i bambini giocano nel cortile. Questa è una posizione molto tranquilla, proprio per quello che ti stai cercando, con abbastanza spazio dentro e fuori per evitare quella sensazione di "febbre della cabina".
Detto questo, Grace's Place è vicino a Brunswick con il suo festival musicale e il teatro musicale, Bowdoin College e ottimi ristoranti; Freeport, con LL Bean; Portland, con la squadra di baseball di Sea Dogs e grandi acquisti sul mare e ristoranti.

Great location. The views from the numerous porches and decks are simply spectacular. Quiet. Comfortable. A charming cottage near great restaurants and hiking.

Highly recommend! The cottage is homey and immaculate. We loved all the different porches. The area is so quiet and we were able to visit our favorite places nearby— Stover’s Cove, Pammy’s ice cream and The Dolphin. John is a wonderful host and very responsive. I wish you could swim in the little cove at the end of the path but it’s better for beach combing at low tide.

This was our second stay at Grace's Place. It would have been our third stay but we didn't book early enough in 2021 to beat the post COVID rush.
We love this house. My previous review describes the house, the amenities and how well it is maintained. This time I would like to talk about the location and the surroundings. The house has a beautiful view of the bay, Orr's Island, the Crib Bridge and Bailey's Island. The house is perfect for children. Our 5 and 7 year old grandchildren stayed with us. There is absolutely no traffic near the house. The yard is a vast mowed lawn with a swing. Children can safely run and play outside. There is an ice cream stand within walking distance for after dinner treats. A 5 mile drive brings you to great fried fish stand (Erica's) located on a working harbor, or a town beach with shaded picnic tables, or Stover Cove Beach or a grand stand with weekly concerts, or a large tidal pool that can entertain for hours.
15 minutes driving brings you to Brunswick and all the shopping a small city can offer. A 30 minute drive gets you to Popham Beach. The best family beach in Maine. (plenty of parking and clean bathroom/changing room.
The house was very comfortable for 4 adults and 2 children. We have rented many VRBO homes and this is our favorite by a big margin.
We are already planning our 2023 summer at Grace's Place.
