Very clean with all the necessary items to make a great place to stay while at the beach. Good location being in Buxton makes it close to every thing on Hatteras Island. Good communication with the owners.

We stayed for 2 days before a week long vacation on the island with friends. This property is in a great location, perfect for 2. Fairly private for being close to other units. Would definitely stay here again.

The Maiden was the perfect location for our first stay at OBX. Perfect size with 2 bedrooms and a living room/kitchen area. Outdoor shower was perfect for coming home from the beach. And location location location. A literal two minute walk down the street and you are on the beach! Would definitely recommend this place!

We loved that this cute little apartment, perfect for the 4 of us, and located just a couple hundred feet away from the beach!
Our host was incredibly wonderful to work with.
A few comments for improvement - the front left kitchen stove burner doesn't work, we were supplied with 4 toilet paper rolls, not the advertised 1, and we didn't have enough bathroom hand soap for the week. The kitchen would also benefit from having a cutting board.
Overall, wonderful cute place. If we're ever in the area again, we'd choose your apartment!

Could see the ocean from the one bedroom window. We walked right down the street to the beach, which was amazing. People were surfing, fishing, swimming, playing with dogs, driving right on the beach. (Not a lifeguarded beach, but for swimming the sandbar gave us plenty of security.) The outdoor shower was really convenient. We could walk to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. Good sound insulation, never once heard the neighbors. But if we were outside they all made sure to say hello, very friendly neighborhood. It was our first time in OBX and we really liked everything about our stay. We hope to stay here again.

Very clean, family oriented. Perfect location with nice beautiful beach . Convince to all restaurants . Local people very nice and informational to areas and activities to go and see . We had a Great visit. Definitely will come back.

A nice property, walking distance to the ocean, restaurants, and ice cream parlors! Pleasant deck with chairs and a side table where you can hear the surf while you enjoy your coffee or evening beverage. A better dining table would be nice, as the high-top isn’t comfortable for everyone.

Clean, cozy and easy to locate. Just a short walk from the beach and decent restaurants. Nice accommodation for a quiet beach getaway! Will definitely consider a return visit.

The three of us enjoyed our stay and everything could not have been any better.
We fished from the beach at the end of the street and drove out to Hatteras point when weather permitted.

The cottage is clean and quiet, in a lovely village with nice places to eat and shop. I found everything I needed and wanted very close by. The setting reminded me of childhood visits to the beach in the 1950s and 60s. It was a delightful week of solitude and walking on the beach. The VRBO experience couldn't have been better. Thank you, Linda!

The Maiden was super cute and clean Loved the location! The beds were cozy but the sofa isn't very comfortable. I think it is outdoor lounge furniture. Not a deal breaker, just not too comfy to chill and watch TV.

We had a great stay here. It accommodated our family perfectly! The neighbors in the other unit were very nice and polite also. Only a short walk to the beach was awesome! Definitely would stay here again!

We absolutely loved this apartment. The location is great, convenient to just about everything you can think of. Practically on top of the beach. Also the cleanest place we have stayed in the outer banks! We were impressed. It’s great for couples. It’s not a huge space, but just right for two people, especially if you stay out during most of your trip like we do. We have already decided we are staying here again!

Not the best week
The only thing good I can say about the property is that the bed was somewhat comfortable and the water was hot. The coffee pot which was no less than '60's era, had a totally rusted heat plate which I had to clean before it was used. The sofa was old porch furniture which was totally uncomfortable. No end tables/nowhere to put a drink, etc. The burners on the 50/60's era stove were all crooked. The only table had 2 stools which were so tall and hard they were hard to sit on, so we didn't...we ate off our laps. We also had to wash some of the dishes before they were used - lipstick on a cup. Outside, the street was totally flooded the whole time we were there, so you had to walk in the yards to get to the beach, which was nice. For the money wouldn't recommend and will not stay again.

It was a wonderful area where we could walk to the beach! The beds were comfortable and clean!
The place was wonderful and close to everything in Hatteras. It had an outside shower to get the sand off and cute gallery kitchen. The only suggestion I could make is to put blackout blinds in the rooms. The sun woke us up about 6 am every morning. It would have been nice to sleep in on vacation a couple of days. 😉

Beautiful cottage close to the beach! You could literally walk to the end of the road and be at the beach. The cottage was very clean and well STIs me. Beds were super comfy!! The property owner and her husband were amazing and so kind! We had a bad storm with flooding and they both were so helpful and were able to give us information on what we needed to do and offered to help in anyway possible. I would rent from them in a heartbeat again!

The Maiden is everything you need and nothing you don't!!! The beds are comfortable and the space was good for the 3 of us. It was clean and nicely updated. We were there a little early in the season so some places were still closed or had limited hours. If you decide to drive on the beach make sure to lower your tire pressure to 20lbs or less!!! Expensive learning lesson. This was our first time in the are and we will definitely be back!!

This property had everything you could need! Great dishes and cookware. I went grocery shopping at Food Lion less than 10 minutes away and was able to easily make my meals. Close walk to the beach and 1/4 mile walk you can see the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse! Bed was very comfortable and had no problems checking in or out. Recommend this property to others and would love to visit again.
