An unusual two-storey apartment with beams and an open fire.
Un insolito appartamento a due piani con travi a vista e caminetto. Camber Sands nelle vicinanze per wind e kite surf .. Scale al primo piano: soggiorno / sala da pranzo / cucina con pavimenti in legno e travi. Bagno con doccia oltre vasca idromassaggio e servizi igienici. Ripide scale al secondo piano: 1 camera matrimoniale più zona notte aggiuntiva con futon doppio .. Aprire il fuoco nel soggiorno. Riscaldamento a gas centralizzato, elettricità, biancheria da letto e asciugamani inclusi. Culla. Tv satellitare. DVD. CD. Fornello elettrico. Microonde. Lavatrice. Accesso al congelatore Wi-Fi. Parcheggio (150 metri, £ 1, 50 al giorno). Vietato fumare.. Godetevi gli eleganti ambienti con travi a vista nel cuore del centro storico di Rye in questo insolito appartamento di 2 piani, classificato di Grado II, che conserva caratteristiche originali, tra cui le travi e un camino funzionante risalente al 1700. Esplora la cittadella e guarda Rye dalla cima del campanile della chiesa; gironzolare per le strade acciottolate, esplorare i negozi e le gallerie insolite e approfittare della miriade di ottimi ristoranti, sale da tè e pub che Rye ha da offrire. Belle spiagge e gommoni a vela nelle vicinanze, tra cui Camber Sands che offre vento e kite surf. Negozi e ristoranti a 10 iarde, pub a 25 iarde.

The novelty of staying in a 400 year old property, in an incredible location, right in the middle of Rye, made this the perfect place for a long weekend. Everything needed was right out the front door - museums, castle, pubs, and cafes. The actual house was well laid out with decent furnishings and clean towels, and linens. However, it was dirty in areas, like the crockery all had to be washed before use, blinds were dirty and dusty, and there was a lot of dust, dirt and dog hair around. Not ideal when having small children running about. Ultimately a small thing for such a wonderful place, but it did mean we ate out more then we were planning to.

Clean and warm cottage in the center of town, very quirky but a nice environment, it is on one of the few roads running through Rye so does suffer from some traffic noise although not too intrusive. Everything was in order on our arrival so all in all a nice place to stay.

We stayed here for a weekend, to attend a wedding nearby - two adults and two children (aged 5 & 9). The configuration of the apartment was perfect: there are two double beds on the top floor, all kind of in the same room but separated by a wall (it makes sense once you see it), which was perfect for us. Really, really cute place oozing with character, and a very friendly vibe (again, that makes sense once you see it). Well provisioned kitchen (our catering needs didn't extend beyond making breakfast, but one could rustle up lunch or dinner no probs), and - the real clincher here for anyone spending a weekend or more in Rye - it's bang in the centre of town, next door to a great pub and with endless restaurants etc a "short stroll" (as estate agents would say) away. We parked at Wish Street car park, which was around £6 for 24 hours and had plenty of space - I think there are cheaper options but this was fine. The owners live nearby and were super-responsive. Entrance was via a key box, which was straighforward - and you could use to stash the keys when heading out for the day. Recommended!
