Arrived in the rain. Misty, cozy, inviting. Sunny & glorious next two days. Beach walking, beach running, hot tubbing, wildlife viewing, puzzling, pool playing, dining…enjoyed it all!!

We only had a few days at the Abalone Alcove, and they were lovely. Beautiful views of the ocean and bay. Would love to spend more time here. The home is a bit dated, but very comfortable & clean. Owner provides a parking pass to reach the beach area. We cooked and grilled and owners provided everything we needed for that. FYI, shop before arriving, as there is very little nearby that would equal a full on grocery. Easy day trips to vineyards and oceanside. Look forward to returning.

We were all amazed at the views upon entering the property. The architecture of the house is fabulous and quirky. We enjoyed the amenities and were happy about the proximity to the beach. Overall a fabulous stay!

This rental fully met our expectations. Super clean & organized w/ spectacular views. The walk too/from the beach kicked out butts due to the large hill. But a small price to pay on the weekend when the line of folks in cars waiting to enter the beach parking lot was HUGE & we were able to walk right in w/o paying. Love that the restaurant in town offers water bowls for the pooches, & the store has a yummy selection of ice cream treats. We did the bioluminescence kayak tour through Blue Waters Kayaking in Tomales Bay which was the highlight of our trip. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

This home worked perfectly for our family of five plus our four legged boy! The main bedroom was upstairs and the other was downstairs with a pool table, tv, and plenty of movies and entertainment. Plenty of board games too! We drove down to the public beach and enjoyed the tide pools! I grew up coming here so Dillon Beach has a,ways been a magical place for me!

The view is extraordinary. Breathtaking really. The house is in great shape, and is quite interesting. Pieces of the history of the home adorn the walls for those interested. This is a perfect place for a romantic getaway, or a small family trip to the coast!

You can’t beat waking up to the view of Dillon Beach from Abalone Alcove. Every room on the top level has a spectacular vista. The kitchen is well equipped and the pool table provided lots of fun. The house is in need of updating but overall worked well for us. The hot tub was a nice addition as it was a bit cool and rainy. It was a little disappointing not to have a view. The tub is located inside a walled courtyard and when the cover is lifted, the small window with a view is blocked. Towels were not provided, as clearly stated, for outdoor purposes, but for those of us traveling from afar, it sure would have been a nice option. All said, we would definitely return.

We all absolutely loved this home! The view is just incredible, nothing beats it. The home was clean and comfortable. Easy access to town and the beach. Although it's close, it's not really walkable because the road up to the house is very steep. Overall we had a lovely stay and can't wait to come back again!

Our stay was from Thursday night to Sunday morning and we lucked out with some great weather during this normally cloudy, cold October. The house was quite clean, came with a kitchen stocked with necessities like spices, salt/pepper, and a full complement of kitchen supplies, and also included some things that I suspect previous guests left behind, like yeast, tea/coffee, etc. We were also given some welcoming snacks and a bottle of sparkling water, which was a pleasant surprise. Our stay was very relaxing, with an upstairs and a downstairs and several comfortable nooks and crannies where people could find some quiet time to read or get away from the group. We played pool and enjoyed the hot tub (though for some reason the cover of the hot tub comes up so that it blocks the only window off the porch area, thus blocking the only possible view from there). There was also an outdoor grill which we didn't use, but which looked fully serviceable. Internet was fast and reliable. The house was easy to warm and while space heaters were provided for the rooms we used them mostly for enjoyment, not because they seemed necessary. The wildlife viewing from the house was spectacular! We saw deer, fawns, raccoon, quail, red-shouldered and red-tailed hawk, kestrel, and turkey vultures all from the comfort of the sitting room window.This is definitely a house to enjoy the view, and not one for easy (walking) access to the beach. The house is up a steep hill and it's about a 15 minute walk downhill. This is not a walk for people unused to walking and hiking back up to the house should only be attempted if you are healthy with good lungs and walking muscles. The house includes a parking pass for the neighborhood, which is great for parking at the bottom of the hill and avoiding the $10 parking fee at the beach. Overall we had a wonderful weekend!

The property was very nice.

Great place to hang out with our adult son and his wife and dog! Close to beach and an easy ride up the coast...Spacious kitchen to prep food and cook in with well supplied pots/pans and dishes. (Wish there was a teapot for we tea drinkers!) Amazing views of the beach from the comfy couch and chair in the upstairs space where we read, ate, and played games at the large table. Game room downstairs for pool and smart TV to watch movies. (very uncomfortable couch to sit on - please replace!) Disappointed that unfortunately the hottub was broken, but hosts were responsive in compensating for this. (And also responded quickly to a question regarding laundry facilities.) We 4 would definitely come back! Thank you!

The views are spectacular! Lots of wildlife, including deer, quail, and other birds. The kitchen had all of the tools we needed and we did a lot of cooking. Perfect for 4 people with private bed and bath arrangements for each of two couples. Dillon Beach Resort was a sweet little restaurant to have a drink and a meal inside or outside by the beach. The surrounding countryside is farm land with cows and sheep. Glad we brought lots of pants and long sleeves to wear as the temperature stayed in the high 60’s during most of the day. Too bad the hot tub was not working.

The property is perfectly located on the hill, just a short walk down to the beach. The views are amazing and cannot be beat. You can spend hours sitting in the comfortable living area looking out the picture windows at the ever changing landscape. The house is well appointed, clean, cozy, and well stocked. You will not be disappointed with this rental and I hope to return again.

Everything was organized and tidy. My only suggestion would be to have the hottube serviced. It had been drained and unusable.Beyound that one detail its a great place and I recommend others to stay here.

The Good: - Amazing View. The best part of renting this house by far. - Separated Levels. It was nice to have a level downstairs with a bedroom and bathroom for our younger lads to occupy, with a TV and Pool Table. - Kitchen. Well stocked with all the necessities to cook and clean. The Not So Good: -Spa. As mentioned in other reviews the SPA was broke upon arrival. However, the management company did call us while we were driving to the house to inform us and made a nice compensation for the inconvenience. It was a bummer as we really wanted a house with a spa. but that's life. -The Beds. The master bed felt like sleeping on a box spring. I enjoy a firm mattress but this one is really tough. If you have any sort of back issue I'd bring a sleeping pad to put on top. It felt as if I was sleeping on the floor. -Mobile connection. If you have anything other than Verizon you will get spotty reception at best. The house wifi works great and that was welcoming. -The weeds. There are knee high weeds around the entire property. Not such a big deal but the pictures showed a sort of grass area with two chairs looking over the ocean. That entire area is weeds. And if you're bringing your pup and they have longish hair check for burs. -The Miscellaneous. The stairs going down to the lower level are steep. Fair Warning. I advise taking pictures of everything you see that is out of place. We noticed a small burn mark in front of the fireplace (we had no fires), there were a couple of white marks on the pool table that we could not identify, and there was a missing blind in the downstairs bedroom leading out to one of the outside areas, along with two more that were rigged to stay up. We found this out when we tried to open the blinds and they just fell off. There are miscellaneous stains here and there, not very noticeable until you've been there a day or so and start to wonder where it came from. All in all the stay was fun, the area around the house is great and worth the trip. The management company was upfront about the spa issue and the view is absolutely spectacular.

The view is unbeatable! Wildlife watching was an added bonus, we saw baby deer, baby quails, and baby bunnies. The view of stars from the hot tub is unmatched. Will book this place again!!
