The location is incredible. We loved all the windows looking out on the beautiful countryside. It was a perfect place to stay when visiting Acadia National Park.

Overall, this was a nice and convenient place to stay during our trip to Acadia NP. I would definitely stay at this location again, but there were a few things that could be improved at the price you have to pay. First, please be aware that there are two properties on both sides of the house that are separated by trees, but are still visible and close enough to lose the sense of seclusion that one may desire. Also, there are no blinds in the downstairs living room/kitchen. Given that the property isn’t completely secluded, adding blinds would be an easy improvement for privacy. Regarding cleanliness, I was disappointed to find the coffee machine was quite dirty and no coffee pods were available. I had to improvise and make pour-over coffee using coffee grounds and the kettle. Two placemats were also dirty when we first arrived and the smell of trash upon entering the home, where the trash is stored when leaving, was not what I was expecting. Also, my wife reported loud banging sounds on multiple nights. One night, the outdoor furniture had been knocked over. I don’t know what caused either of these, but something to be aware of. It could have been animals, but finding an unlocked downstairs window on arrival and being confused whether a door was locked or unlocked led to a feeling of unease.

Just as advertised, great base camp for our Acadia adventure on the quiet side of the island. Close enough to nature that deer would peek into the windows!
