We loved our weekend here. It was a cold but beautiful time of year to admire the river and surrounding landscape. Perfect driving distance to the main part of Elizabethton. The rental was very clean, had all necessary accommodations, and provided an excellent place to relax.

Communication-was awesome with the owners. I had a few questions and they were quick to respond each time.
Cleanliness-Cabin was very clean and all we needed was available.
Location-You are located next to the town where you have many restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores to shop. The neighborhood is very cute and in the backyard you feel like you are with nature. We saw so many cool birds and the frog, geese, birds and cicada singing to us every night were so relaxing. Both my husband and I on different occasions witnessed a osprey swoop down and grab a trout out of the river. It was so amazing but I was not expecting it so I couldn’t get to my phone quick enough that was a bummer. Watch for deer we had four bucks cross the road also unexpected because you are in a little neighborhood but was so cool to see all the nature around us.
Fishing-Make sure you watch for the power generation schedule so you know when the river is going to rise you can find that on the TVA website. When the water is lower it is easier to walk out and fish and will not need waders unless you want to go deeper. We used rubber boots on the hotter days. We caught lots of trout all different sizes. There are other places to check out to fish very close too. We went to Doe river in a couple places and the Wilber dam on the watauga river. The dam has many places to stop and fish and it is connected to watauga lake. On the way to the lake there is a place to fish above the dam. Love this place♥️

If you’re wanting to get away but still be close to thing this is the place. Peaceful water front so you can sit and relax and enjoy the water. Inside is well maintained with plenty of room too. Everything you have in your home it’s here all you need is food or plenty of places nearby to eat. Fishermen you will need to move around to fish or bring your kayak cause of the shallows.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The river was about 50 feet from the back door, you can sit next to it or on the back deck. We used both fire pits during our stay. It rained all day our last day so the deck pit was a nice touch. The house is just down the road from a grocery store and maybe 10 minutes from a Walmart for other items. Very easy to get around the area. If you are into fly fishing this is a wonderful place to stay!

Peoperty was clean and well located in a nice area. The Watauga river was in the back yard. Easy access for fishing and lazying by the riverside watching the beatiful scenery. Property host was very responsive to any questions we had. Highly recommended.

Our family of four with two young kids enjoyed our stay. The fishing was great-my husband caught 30-40 trout in 2 days! He was definitely a happy camper. The kids loved hanging out on the river rocks and fishing on the river bank. We made s’mores in a thunderstorm on the back porch with the propane fireplace and cooked hot dogs and s’mores over the real wood fire pit the following night. The fireflies put out a nice glow and the kids loved chasing them around the yard. It was a wonderful family weekend.

This is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay! The river is so beautiful. We saw cranes, ducks, and geese. There is a covered back deck that was my favorite spot to relax. This house is close to Elizabethton, so you’re only minutes away from everything you could need. I highly recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay and loved the location which was very convenient to meet our fishing guide and any groceries or supplies we needed.
Our only suggestion is that the bathroom sink and tub need a little Draino to clear them a little bit.
We would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay! It was exactly as described. Boys loved fishing the river and playing ball in the backyard. It was just what we needed for our short stay for a baseball tournament.

We throughly enjoyed our family trip. A great place to quiet down city noise and enjoy the views, watch birds and the river and even catch a fish with our kids!

We enjoyed our time. Fishing on the river was great until mid afternoon when water rises with dam release. Also because the fishing is good, there are many fisherman who fish this area both by wading and in boats. We enjoyed being close to shops, local attractions and restaurants but we also missed a more secluded location. It was kind of the best of both worlds. Our main focus was fishing for our adult son. We enjoyed the back porch and sitting out there every day. Would suggest some updates on the mattresses. The master bedroom especially was very noisy when sitting down and rolling over. Enjoyed the openess of the floor plan and having everything on single floor.

The property was nice and clean with a great back porch. Nice fire pit in the back yard and a great sitting area on the rivers edge. Easy access into the river to go fishing. Although we did a full day guided float trip we still had a couple 1/2 days fishing the river at the property. Just a very nice spot.

Right on the river, wonderful view. And the house stayed warm even when temp dropped to 18 degrees. Plenty of space both inside and out. Enjoyed using the fire pit on the colder nights.

This is a great place to stay. Nothing fancy but very comfortable. It's in a residential area but the backyard on the river still makes it feel like you are someplace pretty. It was too cold to sit outside and enjoy the fire pit or river seating much but we saw a Great Blue Heron every day. Would love to come back to enjoy the outdoor area and do some fishing! I would suggest adding a kettle - either electric or stovetop - for tea but otherwise it was reasonably well appointed with kitchen supplies.

The pictures don't do justice to how peaceful it is to sit by the river or even sit in the living room and watch the water flow. Kitchen is well stocked and the neighborhood was really nice and quiet. The owner was super responsive to one minor issue had. They also put in a really nice new gas fire pit on the deck. Lots to enjoy!

This property is just beautiful! Very clean, well stocked kitchen and roomy. We love ❤️ the deck and sitting area just to listen the flow of the water and nature. We were very appreciative of the quick response from the owner when we had an issue and the info regarding the River was so helpful. Although the weather didn’t cooperate to well the guys did some fly fishing when the water level was down. They had fun. We will be planning another trip and would love to stay here again. Very comfortable place for 6 adults with a couple with assistive devices. This is our second time staying here and again we enjoyed the large table for meals as well as card games. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home.

We loved the view of the river and the chairs right beside it. We didn't fish, but this would be the perfect spot for fishing. We visited family and tourist attractions in the surrounding area. This was a nice central location.

This place was very well stocked with items needed for cooking, laundry and cleaning up after ourselves.
Two fire pits. One gas and one wood. Owners had plenty of wood for the fire pit. Even had fishing poles for people who wanted to try and catch something in the river. We didn’t try as we had other trip plans.
Would definitely rent this home again if I were to come back to Elizabethton.

This was the first time Ive done this and I'm so happy I did. We arrived and walked out to the beautiful river view. The home was perfect for a clean, comfortable, beautiful setting vacation spot. We will definitely be back.
