a conveniently located comfortable cottage. nothing fancy, but adequate for a nice vacation in door county.

The place had a musty smell that didn't go away even we opened the windows. Great location for us and our dog. Could use a little updating of the house. Enjoyed being able to see the lake.

This little cottage must be very old based on the weights in the double hung windows. I imagine decades ago it had an outhouse. Some time ago, what had been the kitchen entry was converted into a bathroom with tub and shower. Later, a second bathroom was squeezed in between 2 bedrooms. We went there with another retired couple. They choose the "kitchen bath" because of the tub., and we used the other one. It's not modern, but everything works well enough, and the location is fabulous. It's less than a block to the lake, and there is a little bench there to enjoy the sunsets. I loved the screen porch on the front. I took my woodcarving and sat there practicing. The concrete floor on the porch was a breeze to sweep up! The hostesses were very responsive to every question we had. Depending on how many we travel with we would definitely consider staying again.

The cottage was clean and lovely. The owners responded right away when I thought there was a plumbing problem (there wasn’t it was just condensation) the beds were very comfortable. I only wish there were some chairs outside so we could look at the stars. I wish I were back there right now instead of 108 in the desert

4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) and our senior dog stayed at the cabin. It was very clean and cozy. We did have issues with the internet, which was only an issue because one of us was trying to tie up some loose ends at work. However, if you are there to disconnect, it is not something you need to worry about. The location was also great and we enjoyed the beach (short drive away), exploring Egg Harbor and other places on the peninsula, and appreciated having our senior dog with us.

Great week at Birchmont. Great location, just a very short walk to see the sunset. House is comfortable and clean. Furniture is a little older, but functional. Quite neighborhood and friendly. Will definitely be back next year.

Great spot and very clean

It was a quiet retreat, a wooded neighborhood to walk & enjoy looking at the bay & sunsets. We used it as home base to take visiting grandchildren to our favorite places to eat, explore, fish, swim, kayak & shop.

Somewhat older in style but still very comfortable and pleasant to enjoy the surroundings. Super location with walking and sitting down by the lake. Cozy front porch and good for quiet surroundings and relaxing. Loved the restaurants, especially the Landmark and Burton' by the Lake., both within one mile.

The cottage was a central location for us to visit multiple Door County attractions.

Great location. Not far from the water. We went on a wine tour, saw some lighthouses and ate some of the best pizza, all within 30 minutes of our location. We all enjoyed our stay.

The property was great. We really enjoyed the front porch. The only issue was that the beds are very uncomfortable. Aside from that though we liked the property and will likely come back... with a pillow topper for the bed.

We had a home nearby for about 40 years. This was our first trip back since we sold our place. This place was reminiscent of our old home, a bit outdated, but cozy. The internet hardly worked, but talking with several people including the owners, this is a problem for the County. I had two people at businesses tell me that since a recent storm, they have had issues with their Internet. There may be value in setting it up so people can hardwire to their tablets rather than use wi-fi. These services are expensive and when they don't work it is frustrating to everyone. I found my bed to be comfortable and loved sitting on the screened in porch. If you rent the place, I recommend taking an air mattress and sleeping out there. We had beautiful sunsets every evening and swam at Egg Harbor Beach. The photos are accurate, and yes, there is a bit of a musty smell. It comes with older homes that are or have been closed up for the winter. You smell all the minerals of good old fashioned well water when you shower and wash dishes. This too is part and parcel of Door County. If you want a cozy place with rustic charm, you will be happy here.

I was hoping the old reviews were going to be that...and the property was going to be better than people said. I can live with a place that isn't updated. The place was clean, and certainly not full of amenities. It was also really close to the water and the night skies were great to look at all the stars. But the beds were so uncomfortable. We didn't get a good nights sleep for any of the nights. One of the fitted sheets didn't fit, and we could have used some extra blankets with the nights being cooler. Wi-fi also was spotty as some people have said. I could see it as being a charming place, but it wasn't very comfortable. I can't comment on the TV service because we never used it.

We've been coming up to Egg Harbor and staying at The Alpine since 2005. The Alpine isn't opened, but this is the next best thing.

The property is in a convenient location. Short drive into Egg Harbor, in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed relaxing in the screened-in porch. Property needs to be updated. Very musty smell in the property. Be ready for bathrooms and kitchen that likely haven't been updated since the cottage was built.

Great property in an absolutely fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay here! The neighborhood is quiet and picturesque, and the cottage has a fabulous front porch that faces the lake. We would definitely recommend this property!

We stay in Door Co every year and hope to retire there. The location of the house in fantastic. It was great. However the house may need some updating as the beds are very uncomfortable and it reminded me of staying at my grandparents lake house back in the 60's as a child. Also could not get the wifi to work. all in all I would return.

Great location in a wooded area where we could get nice views of, and access to Green Bay. The cottage was very clean. The exterior and yard need a little TLC. Easy to get to the popular towns and attractions of Door County from the location.

We arrived at the place, it is super clean and in a great neighborhood. That's the good. Opening the door the musk slapped us in the face. The place needed to be open prior to us getting there. We opened the windows and eventually it was tolerable. The next morning we ran the water for some coffee and it was so rusty to the point that we had to run out for drinking water. We had a great time in door county but at the end of the day coming back we wanted to watch TV. Unfortunately the satellite TV did not work. We had great weather, that wasnt the issue All in all with a few issues the place is very nice. It definitely could use some updating. More towels, pillows and such would be a plus. We would have loved to have sat by a fire pit in the yard in the evenings. We enjoyed our stay depite a few issues.

Beautiful, relaxing setting right by Green Bay (little beach a half-block from the house, can see the sunset through the trees!). Convenient to Egg Harbor shops while still having a "retreat-like" setting. Lovely!

It’s a nice location. The place is pretty small and needs updating. The beds and seating area are not very comfortable. If going back, I’d bring my own bedding and bath towels. The WiFi is spotty. The kitchen has the basics but nothing more. If you want to sit outside, you have to bring your own chairs.

We had a very relaxing week in Door County. The cottage is located close to all the attractions. Emily and Cindy are extremely helpful. Thank You!
