Not private, unsanitary, not allowed to lock doors, feeling of being watched, female guests beware.

The property upon a quick glance is visually nice. It does capture a 1920's aesthetic, especially liked the locking cabinet with drink serving materials. These went unused, but were a great touch even if upon further glance all of the glasses were of minimal quality. It makes sense to get the cheapest items if you're stocking a rental property I suppose.

The owner was incredibly invasive, and the location is clearly falsely advertised. It is not private at all, you in fact share the property with both the owner and another renter, and the yard is shared. The laundry room within the home is apparently part of the shared property which was not made clear during booking, and the rear facing window has no blinds and is clearly visible from the owner's property leaving a distinct feeling of being watched. The owner made several comments suggesting he did not trust my character specifically the day I arrived, and only to myself from my small group which suggests that perhaps he had some sort of bias against me for some reason? I was the only clearly Hispanic member of the party and do not know if this had any bearing on it. The owner also made it clear we were not allowed to add any locks to the property nor were we allowed to hang blinds or anything as it would detract from the property somehow, yet refused to provide us keys to the internal locks of the property leading to all guests, especially female ones, to feel very uncomfortable staying there and constantly on edge ESPECIALLY given that comments made by the owner on several occasions made it clear he had been watching us. Several nights were spent off the property as people wanted to be elsewhere, and there were several occasions were people awoke in the middle of the night certain we could hear someone either in or around the home. This was booked as a private retreat as is stated several times in the title alone but in fact is nothing of the sort.
