We had stayed at this house in the late 1990s, and it has since that time not been updated. It's a fabulous house with wonderful beach access, but needs work done to make it comfortable and safe again. On our last day, the air conditioner was finally replaced. There were several bathroom exhaust fans that needed replacing…one had an electrical fire odor. There was an exposed electrical outlet, the bathroom exterior doors of the first floor bedrooms would not lock, a very slow draining shower, and a need of some regular beverage glasses and better skillets. Also, the cleaning was not the best.
Your employee, Shay, was wonderful, and tried to help us with several of these problems…can't say enough good things about her!
I love this house, but it needs a little updating! If this happens, please let me know, and we'll rent it again!!

My family had a great time at the Sea Castle in DeBordieu. It was exactly as advertised. Great ocean views, comfortable and very clean beds, and lots and lots of room.

Great beach house. We hope the beach will improve next year as the renurishment made our beach experience less than satisfactory. Had to go to the beach club to enjoy the beach. Maybe next year the beach experience will be better. Another disappointment was that the beach club was closed in the middle of our rental. We are still deBordieu fans and hope to return next year. Our original reservation was for a very nice home in Inlet Point where we had stayed before. Due to the beach renourishment in process and dredge pipes in front of the house we realized it would be dangerous for our grandchildren (ages 5 to 13)to access the beach. We contacted Brad Wasserman with your company and somehow he worked out a house switch where we could stay at Sea Castle I know this was no easy feat and his efforts were most appreciated. It turned out to be the perfect house in the perfect location. Thank you Brad and to your rental staff for saving our vacation.

Beautiful views of this georgeous beach, perfect accommodations for our family, two grandparents, three children and spouses, six young grandchildren. we rented kayaks, biggie boards, tent and chairs , golf cart( lots of alligator tours) from friendly vendors. Bingo family night at the club. Various artwork, baskets, books, great atmosphere, who is the artist? Caught several sharks 4ft in the surf.

Great Place
House was great. Perfect location, plenty of bedrooms and a huge kitchen. The deck and view of sunrises were awesome.

Wonderful location, good view from all bedrooms, at ocean's edge, and roomy. Needs updating and repairs. Swing fell down with one person on. No one hurt, though. No response from rental office when we called concerning the swing. Outside wicker tables and chairs on middle deck were broken previously. Mattresses were worn out. Blinds were previously broken and others inoperable. Locks frozen. Dishwasher top spray bar found in bottom of dishwasher (we were able to reconnect). Thanks—wonderful weather.

Disappointed
We were looking forwards to a nice relaxing extended weekend at Debordieu Beach since we had heard nice things about it. The location of the house was great since it was close to the beach, unfortunately there is no beach to sit on at high tide. Sea Castle is about 28 years old and it shows. It is pretty close to the point where it need to be torn down and replaced with a new house. It needs sheetrock repair and painting in a few spots, the tile floor is worn in heavily traveled areas such as the kitchen, the finish is worn off the steps from the kitchen, and at least one of the exterior doors would not lock. In addition, the owners live next door and they would let their white dog out at the crack of dawn every morning and he would bark for about 20 minutes. We will not be visiting Sea Castle again.

Excellent
We always love Sea Castle but there are a few things in the house that needed to be fixed this year:
1. VERY IMPORTANT- one of the railings on the deck opposite the sliding glass door was loose causing a gap that a child could fall through to the ground 2 stories below!! Security came and looked at it and was going to file a report and hopefully have it repaired.
2. The right cabinet door above the ovens needs to be rehung correctly
3. The ice machine was supposed to be replaced while we were there but it wasn't. There is no ice in the house at all
4. The laundry room door is very difficult to shut bc it rubs on the floor. It needs to be shaved a little.
That's all we love staying in this house.

Sea Castle suited our needs
We enjoyed our week at Sea Castle. The house had exactly the number of bedrooms our family needed. There was plenty of room to be together and everyone had their own space when the needed it. We were disappoint to find the ice machine did not work - and was extremely dirty. The trash compactor was out of order also. The AC system for the 2 bedrooms on the upper level, north side of the house did not cool, but repairmen tweaked it and began cooling the 2nd half of the week. Someone also came to repair the ice machine, but the ice was too dirty to use. A vacation is not a time to deal with repairs and wait for repairmen! The beautiful tile floors did not meet our standards of "clean" - several of the bedrooms needed to be vacuumed and mopped. We understand the turnover time between visitors doesn't allow you time to make repairs, but clean floors are essential.
