We had a wonderful family weekend at Madeleine and David's home. Lisa, the property manager, meet us to help the check in process and was quick to respond with any questions we had. The home is very warm, comfortable, well maintained and welcoming with plenty of space for our children & grandchildren. Madeleine was easy to communicate with and emailed all the information needed to make our arrival and stay seamless. We hope to return next year! I would highly recommend Shore Crest!

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend family retreat at this spacious, cozy Adirondack home. The location is perfect! The host was very responsive and the home contained everything we needed for a memorable visit. The beds and bathrooms are plentiful, with comfy beds and a beautiful view. We look forward to a return visit.

This location is central to Main Street and the lake. 30 sec walk to town and a gorgeous view of Lake Placid. The house was beautifully decorated and felt very homey. Madeline the owner was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any of our questions. Looking forward to staying there again on our next trip to LP.

Stayed for IMLP in July 2023. Two families: 4 adults and 7 kids. The house was bigger and nicer than the pictures suggest (and the pictures are great). The location was perfect to access town and get to and from the Ironman. The rooms are all very big and the deck overlooking the lake was a great place to sit and relax. Highly recommend!

We had the best time in Lake Placid, and so much of that had to do with this house! It is even better in person - there is so much space in the living area/kitchen that was actually bigger than I thought it was going to be based on the photos. The bedrooms upstairs are pretty big with comfy beds, and it was so nice for each bedroom to have their own bathroom. The front porch was amazing, and a great gathering place for people. Being steps from downtown was incredible and with a big group. It gave people the freedom to come and go from the house as they pleased, or not stay out as late as others and just easily walk home. We were there for my bachelorette party and it truly was magical! I love Lake Placid and cannot WAIT to come back to visit...hopefully with a group to this house! Thank you, Madeleine, for everything!!

We had a group of 10 guys who came from all over the northeast and Italy to reconnect and celebrate us all turning 50 this year. This home was perfect for our needs, with every guy getting their own bed, although several had to share rooms. Each room had its own bath as well, which helped with getting us up and out the door each morning to enjoy the wonders of Lake Placid. And it didn't take much as the house is right in the center of town with spectacular views of Mirror Lake. We returned each evening to spend time together around the large dining table or spread out on the ample seating in both the living room and out on the front porch. I highly recommend this home to both families and groups looking to have some quality time together in a fantastic setting. Oh, and I cannot say enough about the owners. They were great, courteous, and very responsive. I hope to return here someday to share this home with others.

We stayed at Shore Crest over a weekend in July with family and friends. You absolutely cannot beat this location, it doesn’t get any better. Madeleine was a very gracious host - she emailed us prior to our stay to make sure everything was ready for us, answered all of my pre-trip questions immediately, and met us at the house when we arrived to ensure we got settled. The house had many nice extras - lots of games and puzzles that we made good use of, there were clear directions and instructions for everything (tvs, cable, lights, etc). I had to call Madeleine late at night once (we locked ourselves out of one of the bedrooms) and she answered immediately and also fixed the issue immediately. Great hosts and we definitely would stay there again!

We had a large group and this property did not disappoint. The house was clean and had everything you can ask for cold or warm weather stays. The common spaces were more than large enough to accommodate us and each bathroom getting their own bathroom was a huge plus. The house is also located just steps from the main street, which made it super convenient. 10/10 would recommend!

My family and I plan an annual trip to Lake Placid and usually stay in the local hotels. There are 5 couples and we travel from up to 8 hours away so this time is precious and this year, in this home, was unforgettable.
From the start the owner and property manager were responsive and accommodating. The home was immaculate upon arrival and Lisa gave a great run down of the place to my cousins who showed up first. We always appreciated our own space in the hotels but every room having its own full bath made this beautiful home feel more like your own resort than a VRBO rental.
The home itself was so comfortable that we found ourselves staying in and cooking as a family or sitting in front of the fire playing guitars and enjoying each others company instead of going out. When we did go out, our favorite spots on the main strip were within minutes of walking!
If you were try to compare this home to any others on the quality/location/owners etc, I doubt you'd be able to touch it, especially for a large group. Thanks for the great stay Madeleine, we will definitely stay here again!

We came to ski with a my wife and I and our three children and their families. 12 total and we had plenty of room. A great house in the perfect spot downtown. Walk to everything.

This is the best location in Lake Placid. No worrying about parking and such a beautiful view of Mirror Lake. The house was spotless when we arrived and super comfortable for our large group. Also having a bathroom for every bedroom was key!

There's only one word to describe this property and location: MAGICAL. My family (who traveled from a few different countries) and I have had the best Christmas ever at ShoreCrest. Madeleine and Lisa were just phenomenal ensuring that our stay was as comfortable as possible. We have plans to book this again next year.

Madeline and David’s home is the epitome of charm.. coziness, and warmth! What an perfect example of the Adirondack experience! The spacious covered front porch overlooking Main Street was the primary gathering place for our family! Cool breezes… stunning views of the Adirondack mountains above gorgeous Mirror Lake! The occasional loon swimming by with its haunting call. The house was well stocked with all the necessities we could ask for, and their eye for decor makes their Lake Placid home the perfect blend of antiques and amenities! So happy and grateful for their attention to detail, and there responsiveness was on point for any questions we had! Highly recommended!

Lake Placid at its Best
This property has all the rustic ADK vibes including, furnishings and decor, fabulous Oriental carpets, dark wood wainscotting, commemorative Olympic memorabilia and historic photos. But it's also totally warm and cozy (no terrible drafts) and incredibly comfortable with en suite bathrooms and a well appointed kitchen. Our crew loved being just a half block to main street perched like catbirds to watch the action of people strolling and enjoying the lake below.

Shore Crest is a beautiful, big house in the best location in Lake Placid. Easy access to main street. Every bedroom has its own bath, which is a huge luxury hard to find in a large house. The wood-burning fireplace was also a huge hit for our family reunion group. Thanks so much!

We were a very large group, 13 people, consisting of another family, teen friends, and my 78 year old mother! It was special for everyone, 13-78. The house sets the perfect stage for celebrations and large dinners are well as quiet days by the fire reading a book. It is close to skiing, Olympic sites (walking distance), and fabulous pub dining with maybe 20 places from which to chose. There is also great shopping so you can support local artists and businesses…and get some great stuff to take home! The view of the lake is serene. There is a beautiful church across the street with a bell tower that chimes hourly (9 am- 6 pm…it won’t wake you up!). I loved cozying up on a window seat, looking at the steeple, gazing at the stained glass windows and listening to the bells. The house is huge and offers you so many special places to find to make your own memories. Try my favorite window seat! We were able to cook and serve this large crowd without needing a thing. The house holds a special place in our hearts. Thank you for setting the stage so that the perfect vacation could be effortless. Oh, I would be remiss not to mention the enormous hallway as you enter. It is the greatest drop zone for snowy boots, hats, gloves, skis, boards, and all the stuff that comes with winter. Our ski boots stayed warm and we didn’t have to worry about snow or salt being dragged in. There is a place for everything! Thank you!

Mother's 100th Birthday!!
If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Lake Placid, Shorecrest is it!
We recently spent a wonderful week there to celebrate our mother Clara's 100th birthday. The owners, Madeleine and David, couldn't have been nicer. They greeted us upon our arrival, making sure we had everything we needed. Then they presented Mom with a birthday cake and a silk sash that read, "100 and Fabulous!" Mom was so tickled!!
Shorecrest is a delightful combination of vintage Adirondack charm and modern conveniences. It is located steps away from Main Street , making our shopping trips or dining so easy. The five bedrooms with attached baths gave us all our own space. We enjoyed the gathering rooms immensely. The kitchen table where we had most of our meals is surrounded on three sides with windows from which you can see the lake and the beautiful, old St. Eustace Episcopal Church. The living room with its fireplace is cozy and has books and games galore that we took advantage of when we were stuck inside on rainy afternoons. Our favorite spot was the large front porch with the view of the park, Main Street and Mirror Lake. Whether with our cups of coffee in the morning watching the sunrise or hot toddies in hand in the evening watching the moon come over the mountains, it was a most relaxing place!
We can't thank Madeleine and David enough for being the perfect hosts and making Clara's birthday and our week better than we ever imagined!
We had the most marvelous time at Shorecrest.

Perfect location, welcoming host
Our ski team stayed here for a mini training camp, and the house was in an ideal location and very well set up for large groups. Very nice to have a bathroom associated with each bedroom. The outdoor porch is wonderful, and being so close to the Main Street was a lot of fun for the kids as they went on various shopping and ice cream runs!

Great Property
This was the perfect house for our family vacation. Great location with a view of the lake and Main Street. The owner was very easy to work with, very helpful and available if we had any questions.

First, communicating with the owners was efficient, friendly, and immediate. Second, our family chose the Adirondacks because none of us (1 senior, 4 adults, two children 9,11) had ever been there. It is glorious: we canoed the Racquette River, hiked Rooster Comb, swam just down the street from our house in Mirror Lake where we could rent kayaks and boards next to the Lake. Ate tons of ice cream. The house is very well located to restaurants, shops for browsing; and an easy drive to hikes and historic attractions (see John Brown’s Homestead!). Third, the only issue staying in the center of Lake Placid town is that it has only one main drag and all the trucks, cars, buses, people come along there. Deliveries can begin at 5:30 -7 am to the town stores. For some period of time there is also ongoing construction, with heavy equipment moving. This inconvenience was overcome by the comfort of Shore Crest where everyone had plenty of space and it was very well provisioned. Kids got answer to the question: What is that box? Answer: A video cassette! Fun!
