Occidental Torremolinos Playa

Great location with lots to do.

We paid for parking and left the hotel at 12:30 pm. Our cards no longer worked to open the parking garage and we were waiting there for 25 minutes until my husband was able to get back into the building to go to the Reception. When he got there, there was a long line and they told him he needed to take a number and get in line. This system does not work since you should keep the car park keys working until later In the day since some people might stay for lunch, even after checking out. This was very inconvenient.

Close to the beach. Two nice swimmingpools.

There was a very unpleasant smell throughout the entire room, seemingly coming from the sewage system or from outside. The food offered for lunch or dinner was terrible — repetitive, tasteless, and typically “hotel food.” I do not recommend eating at this hotel. The hotel is very close to the airport. From 5:30 a.m. until 1:00 a.m., you can hear planes taking off very loudly every few minutes, which can have a very negative impact on your ability to rest. The hotel seems to be a popular base for young British tourists, who are often very loud and spend a lot of time partying. It is certainly not an ideal place to relax for families with children.

Reception staff unhelpful and understanding when we checked in late in the evening after a long day travelling. No on site food was available after 10pm.
