The Perch: South-facing Elevated Waterfront Cottage
Arroccato su un robusto scudo canadese, The Perch at Kennebec Lake è un cottage di proprietà privata che offre agli ospiti il meglio che il paese ha da offrire: grande cielo, vista dall'alto degli alberi, paesaggio accidentato, nuoto, pesca e nautica. Tutto questo e ampie vedute esposte a sud che offrono molto sole.
Situato a 20-30 minuti da alimentari, LCBO, birra e altri servizi sia a est che a ovest.
Il lago Kennebec è famoso tra i pescatori con il varo di una barca situato in posizione comoda sulla strada del cottage, a pochi minuti dall'autostrada 7. Il lago lungo 14 km è l'ideale per la pesca, la nautica, la canoa e il nuoto. Il lago Kennebec offre anche sentieri, noleggio barche a motore, gas marino e una spiaggia pubblica.

We were very happy with all the amenities of the cottage, there was even a hand mixer for a birthday cake. The swimming was great off the dock. It is also a dark location for star watching. The local boat launch is easy to use and in good shape.

My family and I returned home from our vacation at The Perch this past Saturday. It was absolutely lovely.
Our hosts we very organized and timely in their communications and they set a level of expectation that they more than achieved.
Upon arrival we found all kinds of little touches that warmed our hearts. The cottage is clean and very well stocked. I mean WELL STOCKED. It is sadly very rare to rent a cottage and find pots and pans that are not warped or furniture that smells of a curbside. It is obvious that David and Lucy take pride in their cottage and treat it like a home. Everything is in good condition including their restroom.
The lake is clean and quiet. My kids could have swam all day and I proud to report that I won the annual fishing contest and my hubby didn't even come close.
I read a lot about the stairs to the lake in other reviews - but I think they are exactly as advertised. The cottage is set up high in the shield so you have to walk down to the water. The stairs you take are very well maintained (I could tell you horror stories of other cottages) and have rest stops throughout them. Every effort is made to ensure a safe and well paced ascent and descent.
The Perch has a lot of fun games to play, toads to hunt,,and comfy furniture to sink into while reading a good book. I brought my dogs with me and they might not ever forgive me taking them back home.
Thank you for showing us what life could be... alas, back to work we must go.

What a lovely place. Clean, everything you could ask for and then some. Don't have any suggestions on how to make it better (unless you could move the water closer to the cottage :))

This is a beautiful, tranquil, well equipped cottage. We enjoyed the screened in porch, the lake and the very relaxing and comfie beds! It felt like home 😀.
