"The Grand" Big Bear Lakefront Log Home. Breathtaking views. Fire Pit. Hot tub.
Questa casa splendidamente decorata con le sue viste spettacolari è diversa da qualsiasi altra a Big Bear Lake. Situato su un tranquillo cul-de-sac in Inspiration Point ai confini della baia di Boulder, i panorami sono mozzafiato da ogni direzione. Aspettatevi un'esperienza "esagerata" quando soggiornate in questa casa. Lo spazio abitativo unico offre una sensazione di cabina accogliente e confortevole. I bellissimi tronchi sbucciati a mano a tutto tondo, i pavimenti in legno, i ripiani in granito e i mobili confortevoli vantano una vera esperienza a casa in montagna. Il patio esterno con camino è dove probabilmente trascorrerai gran parte del tuo tempo godendoti la vista e rilassandoti mentre ascolti i suoni della montagna accanto a un fuoco scoppiettante. Il patio inferiore è il luogo perfetto per rilassarsi su una sedia Adirondack con i piedi alzati mentre guardi le barche del tour "Pirate Ship" o "Big Bear Queen": tieni pronta la macchina fotografica! Se sei un adoratore del sole, ti godrai il terzo patio sul lago, o meglio ancora, vai avanti e cammina sul molo per essere ancora più vicino a tutte le azioni del lago: pesca, canottaggio, imbarco, tubing, kayak e kayak nuoto. Con l'avvicinarsi della sera, tieni di nuovo pronta la fotocamera perché vedrai alcuni dei tramonti più belli di sempre.
Visita The Village con tutti i suoi negozi unici e ristoranti caratteristici. Approfitta di innumerevoli sentieri per escursioni a piedi e in bicicletta e altre attrazioni. Beautiful location; could be the best location on the lake; great fishing from the dock; no need for boat! Weather was cold, but warmed up nicely. Time to start going two, three times a year! After nine, ten years at this house annually, it's still the best and never gets old. Thank you for having us again and again.

The property is enormous and is vertical with multiple layers of wrap around decks. It sits right on the tip of the peninsula of Boulder Bay. You have a panoramic view of the lake and the big houses across the bay. The master bedroom has well placed picture windows to enjoy the view. Outdoor spa and two fire pits are well placed to enjoy the view as well. I would return.

While the property has lovely views, there are a few significant drawbacks. Only one of the four bedrooms (the dark one in the basement with no attached bath) had true curtains, while the other three bedrooms (including the master) had skylights or sheers, making it difficult to sleep past sunrise. The kitchen was disappointing—lacking sharp knives, with poor-quality pots and pans, and an outdated stove with malfunctioning gas burners and no oven light. The bathrooms are quite dark, and the outside jacuzzi, while nice to have, has seen better days. Many lightbulbs were out or not installed at all, and despite the landlord's assurance that they would be fixed, nothing changed during our stay. Additionally, the carpeting is very worn (looked dirty) and becoming unseamed in many spotsThe home itself felt dated, which contributed to the overall impression. On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable, and the numerous fireplaces were a nice feature. You do need to bring your own firewood, which we did. However, our sleep was definitely disturbed—an issue the homeowner surprisingly had no prior knowledge of and suggested I should have brought sleep masks, which I found quite odd. Additionally, having to haul your own trash in your car to an off-site location was very unpleasant, especially considering the rental price.Overall, the views are beautiful, but the home requires better maintenance and some updates to justify the cost.
