great central apartment, with decent a/c, good shower, outdoor seating. host responded to messages. info given on where to park.
would prefer check in info 24hours before rather than on the day as travelling. Outdoor area would of benefited from a bit of a sweep and wipe down of table and chairs. House advertised as three bed but one bedroom locked off - assume this was because we booked for two and house sleeps 6. would just of been nice to know. For info if you are booking for 6 you would need to walk through one bedroom to reach the other.

The apartment was tastefully designed and decorated. It is located in the old historic center with its typical and characteristic small streets. The small village Montescaglioso is a hidden gem near Matera. It is situated at the top of a hill which gives a panoramic view over de valley.
Due to its location in the historic center, it is impossible to park a car next to the apartment. If you have heavy suitcase(s), you need to take into account a walk of about 300 meters and a staircase with 27 steps to the apartment on the first floor. For elderly people this is not ideal, but the location compensates a lot.
