Upon arrival notice door knob to door was held together with duct tape.Big cabin with a view and lift. Needs some cosmetic work.Beds were hard and uncomfortable .Cobbs were professional and easy to work with.

This gorgeous beach house is even better than it is described! The house is on a corner giving it direct beach access. Although technically it is row 2, it just gives you a large yard in front of you before the dunes and the beach. The 2 houses on either side are closer to the beach, but they don’t obstruct your view of the Gulf. The house itself is beautiful and spacious. It exceeded our expectations. We used the decks everyday and grilled out in the tiki bar one night and had a fire. We made some awesome memories. We were there the 3rd week of March and it was so quiet. The kitchen was fully stocked, and the whole place was spotless and well-maintained. We did rent the winter linens, which was worth it for us. We wouldn’t have had room in our van for traveling with sheets and towels from WI. We barely made it to the office by 4:30 on a Sunday to avoid the $50 penalty and they were very friendly. We didn’t have contact the rest of the week, because our stay went so smoothly. We enjoyed everything we did in Crystal Beach: fishing with Sharklife Outfitters and Galveston Party boats, beachcombing, kite flying, renting an 8 seater golf cart from TX Custom Carts, walking the jetty, visiting Fort Travis, crabbing, skim boarding, and boogey boarding. We also enjoyed these restaurants: Tia Juanita’s, Huli Huli Hut (in Galveston), Busta a Lime, Hardhead’s, Tiki Bar and Panini Press. The Big Store was friendly and convenient. We loved our stay in Crystal Beach and would highly recommend Janie’s!

Amazing beach house. Great view right on the beach. Wonderful grassy area for the children to play badminton and Bocce balls. while we cooked BBQ. Plenty of kitchen and dinner ware, comfy beds, clean linens lots of room to be able to have quiet moments Front porch for relaxing with morning coffee as we watched the sun rise.Big grocery shop close by if needed.

We have stayed at the property before and like the location and size of the house, number of bathrooms, and the decks. The only issue was there was no garbage pick up during our week stay, even though garbage trucks were going up and down the streets on Thursday.

Our family of 8 had a great 2 night stay for Mother’s Day Weekend at Janie’s at Crystal Beach/Port Bolivar Texas. EVERYTHING about the location of Jamie’s was just perfect. Cabin was clean and well kept inside and out. You can’t get a better view of the beach, than at Janie’s on the top floor deck. We rented JANIE’S last year , and we would rent Janie’s again.

A blanket upstairs was damp & sour smelling, we received 1 dish towel for 4 days, 1 roll of toilet paper in 3 bathrooms & half roll in the 4th. No paper towels hardly any soap in the soap dispensers. Property condition was "dated". Upstairs bath didn't operate properly; dishwasher didn't operate properly; doors were difficult to open and shut. Outdoor furnishings were old and below average. Home location, size is great. We really enjoy our annual trip to Crystal Beach but expected the house to be a bit nicer.

Although our pets didn't travel with us this year, the house and its location were fantastic. The only problem is their central ac wasn't functioning properly. Luckily the winds from the ocean and open doors and windows made the temperature bearable but then we had to deal with the noise of other homes & beach goers radios, smells of smoke from fires on the beach or other vacationers grilling and such. And couldn't very well leave the doors and windows open when we left the house. The rental company, Cobb, when I called and did send out an electrician and ac repairman within an hour and on Good Friday, the problem was not resolved to where the ac would cool the house. And when I called Cobb again on their after hours phone number, the lady who answered was quite rude, explaining that they sent someone out, what else did I want. Well, I want, when I pay that much for a rental, to be able to sleep at night in an air conditioned home. Cobbs other customer service is great. Great reusable grocery bag at check in with goodies. DVD rental card (like a redbox) for free DVD rentals when you stay with Cobb. But the AC not functning properly was a HUGE deal for me. The house is as it is described, plenty of beds and space. Great beach location. Pet friendly.

Staycation
Location is the best. The house needed cleaning. Hair on bathroom floors and sink. Nice having a washer and dryer as well as allowing our dog to stay. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Pull out couches were not able to sleep on.

We loved the house and had a great time. Kitchen needs to be better stocked. They need a pizza cutter, pizza pan for sure. Down stairs is pretty nasty with lots of bird poop so we felt like it could have been cleaner down there. Over all we loved the cabin and would rent again. Renting thru Cobb was a great experience and super nice people. Thank y’all!! Oh and and the location was wonderful!

After losing our brother unexpectedly in Aug my sisters and I decided to have Thanksgiving with our families away from Houston. Our time at Janie's was very relaxing and much needed. We were all very well pleased and happy with our selection. This location is strongly recommended.

The house was great. Great location, and great layout.
But, I'm not sure who wrote the description of the house.... but the kitchen was lacking in a lot of areas. There were more wine glasses than forks. And for a house that slept 12, the kitchen was definitely lackluster. We had to cook eggs in batches... no large pans. We also had to go to the 'big store' to buy a cheese grater, and potato peeler. When the kitchen is described as "Fully stocked kitchen will please even the most discriminating cook"... I expect pans and larger skillets to cook in.
Other than that, no other complaints. The beds were super comfy... (although the kids said the pull out beds were "springy", but that's to be expected in a pull out couch.)
There was lots of lounging space outside, which we used a lot. Will probably rent this same house next year. (but will bring extra forks!)

We liked Janie's and all of the space just a little disappointed in the kitchen. There was not enough pots and pans to cook for even 10 ppl. There were 5 forks in the whole kitchen. We had to go buy more. Also we did not have a big pot, no cutting board, skillets were thin and flat. Couldn't really fix meals. We were also disappointed in the living room furniture. It only seated 5 for a house that sleeps 12. We also arrived and were shocked the floors weren't clean in the house. Based on the amount of money we paid to rent the house it was upsetting the conditions and amenities.

We loved the house. It was very spacious and accommodating for our group. Loved that beach access was very close to the house.
I wished we would have prepared for ants. Apparently, everyone was having issues with them as friends and family who own homes close by had the same problem. The only other issue but minimal was ceiling fan in master bedroom didn't work. Luckily a small fan in the closet worked well for a quick fix.

The only other issue but minimal was ceiling fan in master bedroom didn't work. Luckily a small fan in the closet worked well for a quick fix.

This house is beautiful, clean and roomy. We had 4 adults, 6 kids, a small dog and we never felt crowded. The location and view is perfect and the beds were very comfortable. The only problem we had was when the microwave stopped working and someone from Cobb was out in less than 20 minutes with a replacement. We will definitely rent this house again.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 8. Beautiful home in a great location. Only 2 complaints. No WiFi. I needed this badly to be able to work. The other was the mesquito's. It was almost unbearable. Not sure what Cobb can do about that, but it was definitely an issue.
