Disappointed in the property. Did not have the Hot Tub and no outdoor furniture to lounge out on the grounds . Would have been nice to have a fire pit to sit around. The neighbors dogs where in the yard made it hard for us to leave the dogs outside with us . Property was clean beds where small . Had a little issue finding it tucked away in the trees.

The home was inviting, clean, easy to get around and find things. The hot tub was easy to use and soaking in it under the full moon was so peaceful. Will definitely come back.

Loved the property as a whole. Plenty of space. Very clean. Quiet and private. Only a couple of critiques. They're minor. The towels were not great for the bathroom or the hot tub. They're very thin and older. The hot tub has two broken jets and the lights didn't work. No wood for the fireplace. Other then those minor things, it was a great getaway.

The hose is beautifully situated on the north side of a tidal inlet. It boasts a lovely grass yard, a sizable deck and floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the water. I particularly liked the south facing orientation for ample sunshine.

Happy with our experience and would stay there again. We visited in August and although there were fans placed throughout the house it was too hot to be there between 10 am to 8 pm. With windows open the house did cool down at night. I can't blame the owners for not having air conditioning in a place where you probably only need it for 1-2 weeks out of the year. Most shops in town also didn't have AC. Also - like many other reviewers I would suggest at least one of the trees along the back deck be removed. Outside of this the home was very nice to stay in - clean, private, dog friendly and on the water. Trees and bushes along the property line made the yard feel very secluded and the little cove is quiet and away from most boat traffic. We also quite enjoyed the drive from the ferry across the island. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was stocked. Bathrooms felt new and clean. The location of Mitchell Bay was fabulous for boating. We had family with a boat staying at snug harbor (5 minutes away in the same cove) and we'd head out each day to visit roche, Friday, deer, and other harbors. Nearly every day on our way back we would see dolphins, humpback or orcas. If whale watching is on your agenda - the location is fantastic. Overall - our stay was wonderful and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

Great location! Enjoyed the neighborhood. Morning and evening paddle on kayaks/ sup. The yard was great for games like bocce ball and corn hole. We enjoyed hanging outside on the deck and at nite we played games in the house. Wonderful stay. Thank u

This is a beautiful place with lots of windows with views of the water. There is a lot of space to relax and we enjoyed being there. There are two bedrooms that were comfortable enough. The pullout couch was very uncomfortable unfortunately so sleeping options didn't really work for us - a couple with two adult children. The master bedroom does not have any door separating the bathroom from the sleeping area which is a bit odd. There is no shampoo, conditioner, lotion or tissues, although there was soap provided. The kitchen was functional. Our only real complaint was that on our second (and last) morning the lawn care guy was there power mowing, trimming, and leaf blowing for at least an hour starting at 8:20 or 8:30. It was really loud and interfered with peaceful enjoyment of the property for our last morning. There was no way to sit outside while this was going on and it was super loud inside too. Since we paid a small fortune for that peacefulness it was disappointing to have one of our two mornings lost. We would have appreciated the loud garden care to happen after our 10 am check out. It was also weird that someone came to spray for ants while we were there. We didn't want to sit outside during that either. Plus it felt strange being asked to authorize something we knew nothing about.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! My husband and I started with my parents and our 9 month old for a long weekend on San Juan. We brought our paddleboards and went right into the bay from the backyard. When not at high tide we had to cross write a bit of mud but it wasn't too bad. We even saw seals in the bay! The house was comfortable and very light filled. I wasn't sure what to expect because some earlier reviews said it was really outdated, but we found it to be very nice and perfectly appropriate for a low-key island getaway. I'd definitely come back.

We loved the island, lots to do and the house is nicely secluded for a fun private stay. If possible, I would suggest a door be added to the master bathroom and maybe new drapes on the French doors to help with the early 5:45 am sunrise.
Overall it was a good stay and I would recommend this property.

Clean, well kept vacation rental for sure. The home was comfortable but for the money it has some issues. The dinner plates will not fit in the dishwasher. The dishwasher is so old that the rack inside is rusting out and missing pieces. Cheap towels and utensils. Nice quiet neighborhood and the house is clean and well kept. Just wish it was updated some and had simple things like kleenex in it. Very old hot tub. In general this could be a great rental with some upgrades. Great location

the property was as it says in the description, except for the furniture that is old. the couch that is in the living room was very uncomfortable for sleeping, and it was still cold, so we couldn't sleep there and we ended up sleeping two adults and two kids in one queen bed.

we wanted a quiet spot on the water to relax, the photo on the listing is out of date and in late fall/winter. There is a large hedge lining three-quarters of the shore that obstructs the view of the bay along with 3 small trees right along the deck. You have to position chairs off the deck to get a view. As my husband said as we left, "it could have been great..."

We very much enjoyed the house and the location. We loved being able to launch kayaks and paddleboards right from the back yard! As mentioned in previous reviews, the two couches desperately need replacing. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would stay there again.

Great location!
As the pics indicate, this property has a great location for watching the water and playing catch in the backyeard. Watching sunsent from the hot tub is also a plus! The property is expensive for the shapte that it is in - it definitely is looking shabby and needs some updates making it a little expensive for what you get overall. But overall, a good choice for a family with 2 kids.

The setting was very nice and I was able to get out in my kayak a couple of times. I was a little disappointed in the accommodations. Worn and tired. The hot tub jets were not fully functioning. The appliances functioned but could do with a little upkeep. I was put off by the yard maintenance showing up without prior notice. Picture in web page is not accurate and view cut off by hedge. Overall satisfied, but for the price disappointed.

This rental is in a lovely, quiet location, about 18 minutes from Friday Harbor. The furnishings and paint are somewhat shabby, the couches particularly uncomfortable--hard with little back support. Paint on doors was battered and scratched. Main vanity top damaged from water exposure. The bed in the master bedroom was good. TV room French doors leaked in the rain, leaving a large puddle on the tile floor due to problems with weather stripping. Kitchen poorly equipped. Only one, flimsy plastic spatula, no wooden spoons, no colander/strainer to wash berries or lettuce in. Kitchen faucet leaked at base. Kitchen lighting was poor--difficult for cooking. Bathrooms both need rubber bathmats and cloth ones next to shower and tub as the tile is quite slick when wet. TV is small, old and outdated with poor sound quality. While much of this is acceptable for a short vacation, the rent was too high, given the shortfalls in maintenance. We have stayed at much better places on the islands for the same price or less. The premises were clean overall and we observed that the yard and hot tub were maintained while we were there. We enjoyed hiking and visiting farm stores, but would be unlikely to rent here again.

We had a great getaway to San Juan Island staying at Mitchell Bay Shores. The home's location is ideal, close enough to everything to be able to explore, but out the of the way enough to feel like serene. The home was clean, nicely updated, and we enjoyed the yard and the bay. The only downside is the TV. It was fine for our use, but it could use updating to a larger more modern TV.

The location was amazing. We were 5-15 minutes from Roche Harbor, Friday Harbor, English Camp, American Camp, Westcott Bay and oyster farm (yummy), golf, winery, brewery, and Sculpture Park (amazing and dog friendly). The home has a beautiful view of Mitchell Bay (the trees and bushes desperately need to be trimmed back to make it a spectacular view). We were able to kayak right from the back yard (very convenient for morning and evening launches). The home was well equipped for cooking and bbqing. The beds are comfortable. The living room and family room furniture need to be updated for comfortability. The tv needs to be updated and larger. The carpets need to have the doggie spots removed. That mentioned the home and neighborhood are very welcoming.

We loved the waterfront access (great for paddle boarding!) and the large, quiet yard. The living area was spacious, bright, and open and the bedrooms were great. Note for sharing the rooms: the master bathroom is an open plan (no door between room and bathroom) but this wasn’t an issue for us. Great to have washer/dryer on-site.

It is a lovely home on the ocean. Great kitchen. We did not come to watch TV, which is good because the cable TV didn't work while we were there. Kitchen is nice. Property is on the ocean but it's not a beach, very muddy if you go into the water. The hot tub is old and only half the jets worked. The big thing is the fees associated with the rental. We rented a different property then decided to change so we spoke directly with San Juan Properties. Our original house was going to be difficult for a friend with mobility issues. They made the change for us. Then I noticed they also charged us $100 for a cancellation fee, even though it was a transfer. The person on the phone did not mention that they were adding $650 in service fees and another $165 in taxes. We stayed 3 nights for $450 per night, equals $1350. They charged me $2,167. Definitely avoid at those prices, not remotely worth it.
