We enjoyed our first trip to Montauk and especially loved this cottage. The small beach nearby was just as described. All the amenities were top notch. The bed was very soft and comfortable, the bathroom had nice upgrades, and you are provided anything needed. It made for a perfect weekend getaway.

I love Montauk! It's been my favorite place since I was a little kid. After losing the family summer house in Montauk, it's been hard to spend time there and have the level of comfort and the feeling of being "at home". Noel's place provided some of that. Beautiful location with the lake just feet away and centrally located. Would love to come back.

This is a lovely property. The cottage is attached to a larger home which is also lovely ( you can’t hear the residents at all). You can throw a rock from the property and land it in the lake beach (which feels like a secluded beach in the south of France) and Ditch isn’t far either. Noel was very friendly and welcomed me and my two spaniels who had the time of their lives. I’ll be back! Thank you!

Great stay
This is a lovely property. The cottage is attached to a larger home which is also lovely ( you can’t hear the residents at all). You can throw a rock from the property and land it in the lake beach (which feels like a secluded beach in the south of France) and Ditch isn’t far either. Noel was very friendly and welcomed me and my two spaniels who had the time of their lives. I’ll be back! Thank you!

Had a fantastic stay here over New Year’s - we wanted a quiet, cozy getaway and that’s exactly what we got. The cottage is adorable and well-stocked with necessities. It’s a short drive Into town but still feels very private and remote. We brought our chihuahua and she really enjoyed exploring the large back yard. For those bringing dogs - The yard isn’t fenced, but it is surrounded on most sides by tall brush, so that does provide some containment. We saw deer and rabbits several times during our stay, so if you have a dog with a strong prey drive, you may want to consider keeping them on a leash since there’s not a fully-enclosed space. Highly recommend - we will definitely be back!

The host is very personable and easy to communicate with. All in all, a great stay. We would definitely stay here again, next time we are in the area.

Great stay in the off-season
We had a great stay at Dana's cottage. The location is excellent, close enough to town to be convenient but far enough way that it's nice and quiet. The house was clean and as-described, no issues checking in. The outdoor shower was a nice touch, I was pleasantly surprised that the water was warm enough to be comfortable in late October.

We had perfect weather. Ate all our meals outside. Used the outdoor shower. Biked to the beach & the lighthouse.

A Lovely Quiet Cottage Between Lake and Sea
We enjoyed every detail of our week-long stay at The Love Shack. The cottage is situated between Montauk Lake and Ditch Plains Beach, just east of Montauk town center (ride a bike to town) on the road out to the Lighthouse. This is an ideal location with everything nearby. Best of all is the peace, quiet, and natural beauty of the street and property with easy access to all the excitement and great food available in town or out at the harbor, just a short drive away.
We loved the simple decor and art objects in this comfortable cottage, took most of our meals outside, and settled in immediately. Noel was a perfect host: kind, helpful, and respectful of our privacy.
Lovely outdoor shower. A perfect reatreat cottage. We spent the week biking, surfing, paddling and generally decompressing. Living on the memories of the peace and beauty of Montauk. Enjoy.

Cute lakeside cottage
My family and I loved this house and our trip to Montauk. The house was in the perfect location to several beaches, downtown and the lake. The house was clean and the owners are very friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Great option in Montauk!
Stayed here for a week with my wife and daughter. We had a great time! The house is clean, quiet, well situated, has everything you need. Short walk to the lake and bike ride to the beach. Short drive to town. Nice area in front to grill and relax.
Dana and her dad were very helpful and great hosts. In fact, the refrigerator stopped cooling all of a sudden and they arranged for a new one to be delivered right away, and gave us a cooler with ice for the meantime. Can't ask for anything better.
Definitely happy with our choice.

This house was perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
The property was located close to everything, town, beaches and restaurants. The best part was the access to the lake which was steps away from the home. A nice quiet beach for watching sunsets and swimming. We hope to be back again next year.

Memorial Day Weekend Trip
We had a great weekend at the Lake Montauk cottage. The cottage was beautiful and is such an amazing location. The yard is huge and the lake is literally right down the street. It also was only a couple minutes drive to town and across the street from a gorgeous hiking trail. We will definitely stay here again for future trips. Dana was very accessible on text and all logistics were easy. Thank you!!

Cute House
I rented this house for a weekend getaway with my parents, husband and 2 year old son. House was clean, well appointed and spacious enough for all of us. We went on a rainy weekend in May before the 'summer' season so were not able to take advantage of all the outdoor activities but the house and yard were well appointed with outdoor shower, ping pong table, paddle boards, bikes, etc! Wish we could have used them! Walking distance to a lake on a quite street and a very short drive to beach or town. Be sure to avoid the backyard. There was some miscommunication with daughter after I text her regarding some firewood that was in the front yard and visible from our driveway and received a stern text back advising to stay out of the backyard! Regardless, this house would be a perfect summer rental for a weekend or few weeks!

Great space in Montauk!
Noel and Dana's place in Montauk was a fantastic getaway for our family for a few days in May! Beautiful weather, lovely yard, super close to Lake Montauk and a short walk to Ditch Plains beach. The place is nicely appointed and very cozy. We would absolutely return in the future. Highly recommended.

Great Location!!
We enjoyed our stay tremendously! The property is perfectly located with direct access to the lake (just about a "block" away) and a short walk or bike ride to the ocean. Easy drive to town or the Montauk marinas. Even though this property is attached to the owner's house, we hardly noticed. The front yard faces the road but the short dead end road is not frequently traveled so the yard feels very private. Our only negative comments are the bed was too soft for our liking and the kitchen was very sparsely equipped so if you plan to do a lot of cooking, you may be disappointed. Everything else was as described and we were very happy with our stay.

Our favorite part of Noel's apartment was the location! Bike ride into town for lunch or take a nice walk to ditch plains to watch the surfers. Every night we walked to the end of the street to watch the beautiful sunsets over lake Montauk. The cottage was clean and functional and was the perfect size for two of us and my mom and sister who came to visit for a night. Noel and his daughter Dana were very accommodating and we had a lovely stay!
