Great apartment with tons of restaurants, shops and the Vatican nearby. We spend our Christmas holiday and this place and it was decorated with a Xmas tree for us to enjoy. A bottle of Prosecco and chocolates was left by the host, nice touch!
Our host was gracious and arranged transportation from fumicino airport and to our ship in Civitavecchia!
We did manage to get our steps in during our stay! This apartment has no lift! But we managed and planned our travel in and out of the apartment!
Overall a great place!

Maria was an amazing host, she went way above and beyond to help us. She scheduled the shuttles from the train station and to the airport, called us several times to help us navigate our way to our driver. She was so, so helpful!
The apartment was spacious and filled with, what I assumed, are family heirlooms. Beautiful vintage and antique furniture.
The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay, and the balcony, with the Vatican and St. Peter’s dome view, was our nightly wine enjoyment spot.
I would highly recommend this Vatican View Penthouse.
Thank you for a lovely visit Maria!

Six of us came to Rome to explore this beautiful city and also to enjoy a day at the Ryder Cup. The apartment was lovely and ideally situated, we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the terrace for coffee in the morning and wine at the end of the night! Maria could not have been more helpful, and organised taxis to and from the airport for us. I would definitely stay in this apartment again.

Stay was short in Rome. Place was ver nice mix of old world and New. Phenomenal location

Great apartment and Maria and her daughter were extremely accommodating. Rome was extremely hot in August but the air conditioning in the home was great so it didn't bother us at night. Walking distance to the Vatican with a number of good restaurants near by as well as a large taxi stand close by. Highly recommend and would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in Rome and this apartment was a comfortable place to come back to each evening. The air conditioning was a reprieve from the hot weather outside. We enjoyed the evening breezes on the rooftop deck as well as the views. Easy walk to Vatican City. Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance, too.

The apartment is huge, and the AC works perfectly (we stayed in Rome during the hottest week of Summer 2023), a 10-minute walk from the Vatican Museums, and great restaurants, supermarkets, and stores nearby. The host, Maria, booked 2 transfers for us which were extremely helpful (from Fiumicino and to Roma Termini). She always answered my questions and was super friendly. Thanks for hosting us!

We were very happy with our stay. The air conditioning worked so good and the three bathrooms and three bedrooms worked perfect for our family of 5. The beds were very comfortable. Check in process was so easy. Maria was so nice to help book a van to pick us up at the train station and pick us up again early for the airport on the day we left. Washing machine worked great and there were racks to hang towels on to dry. Would definitely recommend staying here. Only a 10 minute walk to the Vatican and around a 10 minute walk to the metro.

Able to check in on landing, assistance to travel from airport on landing, outdoor patio. All wonderful. Would stay again.

The apartment is very close to the Vatican! All the rooms are very large with ample space for my large family. Beautiful kitchen, dining area and a fabulous balcony! The only thing to consider when renting the apartment is the stairs. They are not for the faint of heart. But, after walking all over Rome… the stairs aren’t a problem. Beautiful Place! Wonderful Host! I would definitely return. Bella Italia!

This was our first trip to Rome, Maria was super helpful and accommodating. Excellent location for walking to all the sites. Apartment is very clean and had plenty of room for our family.

Camilla was an amazing, friendly and responsive host. She could not have been nicer. The apartment is in a great location, is very roomy and has a wonderful outdoor space. That said, the one big issue for me, and the reason I can’t give 5 stars is because of how very old, very dated and very worn everything in the apartment is. The beds, sheets, pillows, couches/cushions, etc, even the spare pillows in the closets (which are actually stained), everything smells and feels old and worn. I didn’t sleep well because I kept thinking of how many people had laid their heads on the lumpy and uncomfortable pillow I was trying to sleep on. I finally took a fresh bath towel and covered the pillow with it. You can only wash those types of things so many times over the years when at some point, they just stop feeling clean and fresh. The apartment in general is in desperate need of being updated, but If nothing else, the mattresses, linens, sofas and pillows need to be bought new. I didn’t even mind all of the many old personal effects of the owners or the old lamps, end tables, beds, etc which date back to I don’t know how many decades ago, but as a traveler, I need to feel like I can settle in to a clean, comfortable space and for me, that was not possible. If you’re not concerned with this type of thing when you travel, you may not mind it, but for myself it would most definitely prevent me from recommending to family or friends.

We had such an amazing time in Rome and the apartment size, location and host experience made all the difference. Maria and Camilla arranged transportation for us throughout our stay, gave us amazing local restaurant and experiences to enjoy which made the difference in us being able to have an authentic Italian vacation. If you’re going to Rome, you must stay in this apartment!

This apartment is in a central location to restaurants, shopping, and tourist sites. The Vatican IS steps away. It is a 30 minute taxi from FCO and just over a mile to the train station. It is on the top floor but the steps didn’t bother us at all. It appears to be a historic building. She has decorated it with antiques and numerous tourist books. There are 3 bedrooms: a king, a queen, and twin beds. The den couch is comfortable enough to sleep on and there is a sofa bed in the dining room. The bathroom off the queen room is modern. The pink bath is a tub with a handheld shower, a step down to sink and clothes washer. No dryer but many racks. The bath in the hall is tiny. The kitchen is well equipped: fridge, oven, micro, dishwasher, utensils, etc. There are two televisions and good wifi. The apartment is very home-like and comfortably lived-in. We were given two towels and one pillow for each guest. There are many pillows and blankets in the armoires but no pillow cases or washcloths. There were bottles of body wash in each bathroom so bring your own soap, shampoo, and wash cloth. The patio is cute. You must walk through the Q bedroom to access it. Overall, it is a large, homey apartment in a great location that needs just a little updating to be perfect.

Terrific experience very pleased with this selection. Would recommend to others

The apartment requires 68 stairs to reach. Under amenities in the listing it clearly says “inaccessible” and “elevator.” Elsewhere the listing says it is a historic building with no lift. Other than this confusion, the apartment is in a great location and has a fantastic outdoor area. But there are those 68 stairs.

Maria was very accommodating and allowed us to check in early as the apartment had been vacated early.
The apartment is well situated for the Vatican and shopping with a good market a few minutes walk.
Be warned though there are 5 flights of stairs to climb with no lift available, this could be a problem if you have heavy luggage, we had hand luggage fortunately so just managed.
The apartment was refurbished in 2013 it says in the details and is ready for another refurbishment as it is very tired. The bathrooms all need attention. No curtain or screen in the main bathroom, the en-suite shower head needs replacing and the shower tray has seen better days. All the towel holders are wonky and various lights do not work. The bed linen is poor and with nothing between the sheet and mattress very unhygienic. The wardrobe space is pretty well non existent with a double one in a bedroom full of old pillows and bedding, leaving little room for hanging without rearranging the whole space ( which we had to do ). The only other wardrobe (single) had the hoover in it! Many of the storage units were full of other personal items which were not of any use to the rental of the apartment and appeared to possibly belong to the owner, we have never come across this before whilst renting holiday accommodation overseas.
The outside terrace was a bonus and was partly the reason we decided on this apartment.
However, even with these problems mentioned we, the four of us, did
Enjoy our stay in Rome for five nights, seeing as many of the wonderful sights as possible in that time.
Would we recommend this apartment, only if improvements are made. The high price does not reflect in the condition I’m afraid.

Great host! Great location for food, shopping, and the vatican. Better than expected.
Pro tip - if you have rented scooters in other major cities, DON'T in Rome :)

A stones throw from the Vatican
My family and I really loved this apartment. It's so close to the Vatican and a few short blocks to the Metro. The apartment had the best air conditioning as the temps were close to 40 C during our stay. We loved the outdoor patio. The apartment was well stocked and very clean. I texted Maria several times with questions and was answered very quickly. The one thing I would have changed is the stairs getting to the apartment. There are 3-4 flights of stairs/ no elevator in the unit. Lugging groceries and luggage up them was no treat but overall totally worth it.

4 days in Rome
The apartment was as described and you can’t beat the location. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage kids. We were able to check in by 12:30pm and check in was a breeze. Maria was so helpful with transport and tours. She offered to arrange all our private transports from airport to cruise port to apartment. We were also able to arrange a discount with livtours for a private food tour (amazing) Rome in a Day tour and Tivoli tour with a discount. This streamlined our time in Rome and at the end of every day we had the apartment with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping. There were many Gluten Free options for my wife. The first day we shopped at a Market and bought fresh fruit and veggies. The kitchen had a stove, nespresso machine (with pods) 3 bathrooms and a washer. We dried on the patio with drying racks.
Beware there are really 4 flights of stairs to the apartment, so just take your time up the stairs with your luggage. There were a few issues, I had to re-set the AC when we arrived, it was easy and Maria provides nice instructions in a folder for any issues. Also one bathroom door was damaged and could not close completely, but my kids were still able to use the bathroom to shower etc no problem. I used the patio every evening and it was perfect to relax after a long day of touring. Maria communicates well and is quick to respond. Highly recommend.

We really loved this Rome apartment! The kitchen was well-appointed, the beds were great, and the veranda was fantastic! We could see enough of the tops of St. Peter’s and the Vatican museum entrance to make for an amazing view. The hostess was very responsive and informative. Overall, clean and beautiful. Super area with great shopping and quick access to the metro. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We just returned from a week in Rome. There were 7 of us. 2 very experienced,2 moderate experienced, and 3 novices to Rome. This apartment was fantastic and allowed all of us to really enjoy our stay. The common space was a great meeting place and the outdoor terrace allowed us to soak up the Roman experience. Maria was easy to work with.

The photos do not do justice to the size of the apartment. We were really impressed by the large rooms, huge balcony, and by how well equipped it was. Everything was provided, from the welcome basket full of treats, milk and eggs in the fridge, to washing powder and toilet rolls. We were also very impressed by how close we actually were to the Vatican - literally a 5min walk. Maria, the owner was also very helpful in organising taxi transfers for us to and from the airport. We would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to return to Rome. One of the best holidays we've had!

Great location! Maria and her daughter Camilla were fantastic to work with!
Maria’s apartment was exactly what we needed for a family of 5....more than enough room to spread out but comfortable and homey at the same time. It was in a great location and Maria and her daughter were very easy to work with! We found out (by us inquiring about tour company options) that Camilla worked for a local one. We had already booked with another one but then also booked additional tours with the company that Camilla works for. A side note....the company that Camilla works is now one of our favorite companies to do tours with!
Within the 8 days that we stayed, one day the hot water and heat weren’t working. I contacted Maria and very quickly she had someone over to fix the problem at a time that was convenient for us and our kids. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would highly recommend her apartment!!! Far superior to staying in a cramped hotel room!!!
