Abbiamo portato questa vecchia casa di adobe nei mattoni di fango e l'abbiamo ristrutturata a mano con materiali per lo più bonificati in un cottage caldo e contemporaneo. È una camera da letto di 850 piedi quadrati con pavimenti in legno in tutto. C'è una stufa a legna nella stanza di fronte e un divano letto 12'x4 'su misura che può ospitare due in un pizzico. Ottimo per rilassarsi fianco a fianco davanti al fuoco. Un pavimento del bagno piastrellato in penny, cuscini fatti a mano, tessuti unici e opere d'arte originali conferiscono alla casa un fascino particolare in stile Marfa. C'è un bagno con vasca e doccia, riscaldamento a gas, un dispositivo di raffreddamento della palude, cucina completa, grande armadio, portico posteriore coperto e un grande cortile recintato con una buca per il fuoco. La casa si trova a un isolato a sud del Thunderbird Hotel e del bar e ristorante Capri, vicino a tutto in città (tutto è vicino a tutto).

We had a lovely stay at this art-filled home. Our dogs loved the back yard and we enjoyed napping on the hammock. The location is close to all the places that make Marfa special.

We enjoyed our visit to Marfa and were especially happy to be able to see the Marfa Lights. The house was well appointed and has a convenient, quiet location.

We enjoyed our visit and would stay here again. Although the house has been rented out for a decade, it feels like someone's home and is welcoming and generous in various small touches and creature comforts. A lot of thought has been put into anticipating the wants and needs of guests. It has many charming details, and you feel well cared for as a guest.
Some aspects of the property have changed and aren't reflected in the description. The stove has been replaced by one that is less interesting but likely easier to use and more familiar; the window AC unit has been replaced by a quieter mini-split system that cools more effectively. However, the photos can be somewhat misleading in that they represent the property at an earlier age. The grass in the backyard has receded dramatically, leaving mostly dirt, and there are a few dead trees, perhaps the result of the extreme weather in 2021. The wood floors are nice but are showing wear and tear evidently due to previous canine guests.
We did encounter an issue with the new AC system early in our stay, and the owner was very responsive despite living out of state. Although it took a couple of days to resolve, we felt she was doing her best to help us resolve the situation.

This place has been my go-to for over a decade. And just got some wonderful upgrades! Everything about the space is perfect. You won’t be disappointed.

We had such a great time at FPL. It was the best setup for our trip. We had our pup with us and he enjoyed the backyard and getting to go in and out at his convenience. The house was clean and the bed was comfortable. We loved sitting out on the patio in the evenings and just enjoying the quietness of Marfa. Will be coming back again!

Perfect Place
We had such a great time at FPL. It was the best setup for our trip. We had our pup with us and he enjoyed the backyard and getting to go in and out at his convenience. The house was clean and the bed was comfortable. We loved sitting out on the patio in the evenings and just enjoying the quietness of Marfa. Will be coming back again!

Great location and we were able to ride our bikes or walk to anywhere in town. Nice sized back yard with beautiful giant Agaves and a fire pit. Couldn’t be more happy with our stay. Wonderful Thanksgiving Stay
The house was perfect! It was very clean, well stocked/appointed (That chamberlain stove is legit!) and comfortable for our week long stay over Thanksgiving for my wife, son and I. Great location and we were able to ride our bikes or walk to anywhere in town. Nice sized back yard with beautiful giant Agaves and a fire pit. Couldn’t be more happy with our stay. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

The house was exactly what we were looking for! The location was perfect to walk to different spots in town. The house gave all the comforts needed for coffee with a fire in the morning, plenty of natural lighting and easy ways to enjoy the stars at night. We will definitely be back!

Cute Desert Art House
My husband and I stayed at Fancy Pony Land House for a week-long getaway from our tiny apartment in the city. This was the perfect place to reset and enjoy the remoteness of west Texas. This home is nice to relax in as well as spend quality time with family. It’s close to everything either walking, driving, or riding a bike. The price and the home are perfectly matched so I highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a charming Marfa stay.

Love the Fancy Pony house in Marfa! Warm and welcoming with a nice kitchen, comfy bedroom and front room with a cute fireplace. We spent a few days with this as a convenient home base for Chinati Weekend adventures.

Relaxing and wonderful!
My husband and I spend a glorious four days here for a long weekend, and had the most relaxing and beautiful time. The house is so creatively done, and welcoming. It was cold when we arrived, and the house took a day or two to warm up using the wood stove and gas heaters (one of which struggled a bit to stay on)...but it was really just a great excuse to curl up in front of the stove with blankets and relax. We spent every spare minute in the back yard, swinging in the hammock and the sunshine during the day. We are truly grateful for this sweet house and our time in Marfa seeing the art, and eating yummy food!

Great Marfa House and Location
Lorna's house is really a perfect spot in Marfa when visiting there for a few days. It's classic Marfa architecture, beautiful back yard and a short stroll to the grocery store.

Clean, comfortable and well located
We are grateful for our stay at Fancy Pony Land in Marfa! It was perfectly sized for 2 adults and located within walking distance of many great Marfa highlights.
I give 4 stars as I am a light sleeper and the trains that come through town during the night were very loud! I imagine the only way to not hear the trains would be to stay outside town!

Cute, quirky and comfy
We loved the Fancy Pony Land House (but still really want to know why it is called that!) The property owner and the on-site manager are both super responsive and helpful. There's an awesome binder that explains how everything works along with recommendations on local activities and explanation of the art in the house. We loved the back yard space (the kids adored the hammock) the retro kitchen area (I LOVED the yellow formica table) and the bathroom floor tiled in pennies. Loved less: the old gas stove that I had to light with a match (very cute and charming but I didn't love cooking on it) and the fact that there wasn't a TV. WiFi worked well and although there isn't central air, the cottage was pleasantly cool in the June heat. I stayed here as a solo parent traveling with two young kids and it was perfect for us. I'd strongly recommend this for a couple traveling together looking for a retreat with some artsy charm.
