Casa Vana Hiriketiya

6x nights spent at Casa Vana in the Garden Patio Villa. Beautiful private villa, big comfy bed with mosquito net, outdoor bathroom (so if monkeys/ other animals aren’t your thing I would reconsider), the room is quite spacious and all you need. I loved the private patio with a square lounger that can sit 4-6 comfortably and a table and 2x chairs), and ceiling fan- very private feeling with bamboos lining the fence. Superb location! Great shops close by incl. a mini mart for water. Ulu Pilates around the corner, and lots of food options. Felt very central to everything, rarely took a tuk, and walked everywhere. Maybe 5mins walk to the beach and 8-10mins to the busier strip of beach bars, restaurants and clubs along the cove. Easy walk or tuk to Dickwella and Blue Island. Super friendly manager and all staff.

Worth mentioning - lots of storage and hanging space but only 2x clothes hangers provided, so not really able to use the space. There isn’t a mini bar fridge in the room, so you can’t keep fruit/snacks or water cold. There is some construction happening opp the patio- it didn’t disturb me too much but to mention. And with some workers coming and going up and down the stairs, they can be in line of sight into the bathroom- I kind of had to plan showers around this. There was also two jungle parties during my stay, which is in a property behind the villas, again didn’t keep me up as I can block out noise with ear plugs pretty well, but the parties are regular during on season and I imagine more frequent, so I can imagine it being a lot more louder than what I experienced.

Super friendly and helpful staff. The cabin I had was so comfortable and felt like a little sanctuary. The location of the property is absolutely perfect. Close to the beach, shops and business but a quiet sanctuary during weekdays.

Maybe having a little fridge in the room would be nice to keep drinks cool and maybe be able to store some snacks/yoghurt. Apart from that nothing negative to say

Central location, really easy to walk to the beach and cafes/ restaurants. Clean. Very responsive hosts. Felt like an oasis. Loved the outdoor shower.

Central location means that it is very noisy. You will hear the karaoke at the local bar until midnight. Mosquito nets were poor so we got bitten.

It was a great location and we had a lovely balcony. Plus, the staff were very helpful

Very noisey at night time and building work early morning. The bed wasn’t very comfortable. Had to fix the mosquito net in 3/4 places but still managed to get bit. The furniture in the room was minimal at best and we weren’t given a bed sheet to sleep under till we asked for one. Also, the curtains were thinner than paper so all light got through.
