Beautiful house, comfy and inviting living room with fireplace which is perfect to hang out and enjoy family&friend time, as well as, an awesome deck to enjoy the outdoors and peaceful surroundings. Nice hiking and biking close to the house. The owner is super responsive and so very helpful. Absolutely loved our stay.

We just got back from spending the most wonderful “white” Christmas holiday at this cabin! Tons of snow−it was magical! The memories we made with our family will be with us for a lifetime. I feel so grateful to you Woutje for renting it to us. You were beyond gracious. Thank you! I’m an interior designer, and quite picky as to where I will stay. It exceeded my expectations. From a design and architectural standpoint, it was exciting to take it all in. It’s very special, and you should definitely rent this home! The cabin is rustic, yet light, bright, homey, and warm, with private views (on all sides) to the snowy woods beyond. Every morning it was fun to awake to find new critter footprints crossing the outside snowy deck. Everybody would try to guess what overnight visitor had come by. My daughter-in-law and I spent most of our time cooking in the fabulous (huge) kitchen. It was equipped with most everything you would need (including a Wolf range). Once we were there, we were so comfortable that we didn't want to leave. When we weren't cooking, we spent our time chatting, enjoying a glass of wine, or napping in front of the 2-story stone fireplace (which was toasty−heated the entire house). There were also games, puzzles, books, and an upstairs TV with movies to enjoy. So relaxing! Our 5-year old grandson and the guys enjoyed sledding down the hill in the backyard. It went all the way down to the ski run at Tahoe Donner Ski Resort. We were not familiar with that resort, as we usually go to NorthStar. But it looked perfect for families. Next time we’ll take that in as well. The rental price of the cabin included discount tickets to use all the amenities at the resort. Can’t beat that! True Cabin Experience with touch of modern day amenities. Not sure I can express enough words that shares our wonderful experience. Family vacation with just the three of us, Brian, Jennie and Baby Bennett. From the incredible kitchen, the warm fireplace, to the stars out on the deck...you are instantly relaxed, feeling at home, and enjoying life in the Sierras! We will be returning for sure! As previous reviewers have noted, one of the best places they have stayed, I would echo this 100x. The first thing you notice is how quiet and peaceful everything is, of course, you get the occasional chipmunk and deer..but you soon melt into the incredible kitchen, making breakfast or dinner watching the wildlife outside. If its later in the evening, enjoy a warm fire in the fireplace. It lights up the family room and takes the chill off approaching winter. The owners have gone above and beyond to make life simple and enjoyable here..it's a place you will forever remember!!

I stay in Vacation rentals all over the country regularly (for work and vacation), always renting “luxury” type properties with the highest ratings. This cabin was hands down the nicest, cleanest, most comfortable, luxurious place I’ve ever stayed. It had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be back!!!

Truly unique and beautiful house. We had several couples and 2 small children for a long weekend. We had everything we needed and the location was great. We had nice conversation areas and space to play games and it was very peaceful.

The house was gorgeous - great atmosphere, very clean, large kitchen with good pots and pans for cooking. Tahoe Donner has many lovely amenities as well - the beach and pools were great. We even took our little one on a pony ride. The host was responsive and kind. The only thing I’ll mention is there are a lot of rules - a whole binder full of them. It was helpful to have all the information about the house but also a bit nerve wracking to make sure we didn’t do anything wrong.

This is not an ordinary ski cabin rental. It is a work of art. Thoughtfully and exquisitely appointed (think comfortable beds, luxurious duvets, magnificent kitchen, marvelous bathrooms!), the home is tastefully decorated and beautifully designed. It really feels like someone's home. The host is attentive and considerate and has thought out every detail to ensure you enjoy your stay.

We were attending a wedding nearby and staying in this home was just a lovely place to land at night. The sheets were so soft and it had everything we needed. Wonderful place to rejuvenate and relax. We loved every moment of our stay there at the log home.

This property is everything and more! This was our yearly vacation and it did not disappoint 👏 Clean, big, views for days, chef kitchen, and sledding out the back door on the property. Cute neighborhood stores and ski slopes right below. It was so great we already booked for next year! The owners were super amazing!
