We had a wonderful time at this Lake house. It is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Clean and comfortable. An excellent location. Star gazing was amazing on clear nights off the deck. We rented a pontoon boat and floated and fished. My husband caught the biggest small mouth bass ever ! Great day, great stay. The hosts are awesome.

The house at Copake Lake was lovely. According to our hosts, their old family vacation home was torn down and rebuilt about 5 years ago. The master has a private bathroom with a huge shower, as well as a stacked washer drier in one of its two closets. The king-size bed was very comfortable. The other 2 bedrooms share a bathroom with a tub. A screened in porch with couches was lovely--we dined in it once and didn't have to worry about insects! I used their private dock for for launching my personal kayak—.16 miles —a short walk from the house. (This dock is near a public boat launch, if you have a motor boat and want to moor it for your stay.) Sites enjoyed nearby: Bish Bash Falls (via the New York parking lot) for a 1.5 mile RT walk (there is a shorter but more challenging hike to the falls from the Mass. side); Copake Iron Works Historic Site. Under Mountain Golf Course- a short course that was well maintained; Lake Taghkanic State Park -for swimming, & kayaking. (This lake also has hiking trails and other offerings. If you don't have a boat, the state park rents kayaks and paddle boats.) The weather was great, so we didn't get to the museums I looked up for rainy day options. Major supermarkets are about 20-25 min. away. ShopRite is in Hudson & Big Y is in Great Barrington, MA. Great Barrington has theater & many restaurants. I greatly appreciated that the bedding & towels had been washed in unscented laundry detergent due to my sensitivity.

The property was extremely clean and well stocked. We really enjoyed our stay. The home is on the small side but we had 5 adults and 2 dogs and still were very comfortable. The home has only 1 air conditioner and we were there when temps hit 95 degrees. Fortunately we brought some fans to direct the cool air into the bedrooms so for the most part we were comfortable. The rap around deck was great and there was plenty of deck furniture. The only downside to the trip was the lake dock. While we were there the dock collapsed. They repaired the dock the next day so that was great. I would suggest that the owner seriously considers to replace the dock soon. By the way the fishing was GREAT!
