Questa è una casa della famiglia Salt Spring sull'estuario di Booth Bay, a cinque minuti dalla città di Gange. Originariamente era di proprietà della famiglia Acland e in seguito divenne Booth Bay Resort and Cottages. Il terreno è stato diviso e la nostra casa è la casa originale della famiglia Acland. Lo chiamiamo cottage Booth Bay anche se ha cinque camere da letto e cinque bagni. Mi ricorda i cottage estivi per famiglie nel Maine o sui Grandi Laghi. È ben attrezzato e i letti sono tutti di alta qualità e confortevoli, il riscaldamento e il raffreddamento geotermico rendono la casa confortevole tutto l'anno e ci sono due caminetti a propano, uno nella biblioteca / sala tv e uno nella sala da pranzo. Ci sono piccoli riscaldatori esterni sui due portici. La piscina è favolosa e c'è una piccola palestra con tapis roulant, cyclette e pesi liberi. Nel Gange è possibile noleggiare kayak, bici e canoe, andare su una barca da pesca o una crociera. Il momento clou delle settimane di primavera di Salt sono i nostri due mercati all'aperto: solo prodotti biologici il martedì pomeriggio e tutto fatto o coltivato a mano il sabato mattina. Questi mercati iniziano a Pasqua e attraversano il Giorno del Ringraziamento canadese ad ottobre. Questa casa funziona bene per riunioni di diverse generazioni.

What a beautiful property! So comfortable with lots of room for everyone. Spectacular views and lots of wildlife to watch. Everyone enjoyed the pool as well. We really enjoyed our stay!

I can’t get over this place. It’s an absolute dream. Best time with friends playing board games, watching the sea creatures come and float, relaxing by the cozy fire place, and of course, the pool and hot tube. It was all so much better than I even imagined 💗 I am so thankful to have this experience and hope we can come back one day 💗

Although we expected a bit of snow on Saltspring Island, we were shocked by over a foot of snow and well below freezing temperatures. But the snow looked spectacular in the extensive gardens, the pool/hot tub were a welcome retreat, and the property managers were quick to make us very comfortable during these unexpected conditions in this amazing heritage home. Staying here where a family has obviously enjoyed many years, raised a family, and appointed the historic facilities to a high standard allowed our family to have the best Xmas retreat ever. Would go back in a heartbeat.

This was an amazing find. After several years apart or with limited contacts, this was a location for having family and friends together. The space is large enough and with comfortable beds, excellent host contact, and an amazing view and access to the beach. The dining room allowed a communal meal, the home is clean and well stocked, and the swimming pool reminded us how invigorating a morning swim can be. This is a place I'll easily want to return to for another visit.

We stayed at Erin’s place with our extended family and pets - 6 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs - and it was the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property was just amazing with tons of amenities, fully stocked kitchen, ocean view and just lots of space for a large group. Communication with the host and property manager were great, they made sure our stay was comfortable and we had everything that we needed. Would highly recommend staying here.

This is a majestic property nestled in a bay on the island. It’s quiet and lovely. There is ample room for a large family or group, a well stocked and immaculate kitchen. The clincher is the the view, overlooking the bay. Although the pool was out of commission, we managed to swim in the bay and enjoy a few great days on the shore. We managed to pick some fresh fruits and herbs to add to our meals. Highest recommendation!

We had an amazing stay here at Erin's beautiful home. Ten of my family stayed, and were aged from 18 to 79. The house had so many rooms to sleep, and the beds and pillows so comfortable. For a heritage home the updates and cleanliness of the home were fabulous! There was so much space for everyone, and fabulous dinners where we could all sit in the dining room. The deck was great to sit at, as well as going down to the beach. I stayed here about 25 years ago about 4 times (once each year for a week) by myself in the beautiful upstairs bedroom with a view, when it had the Pomodori Restaurant on the main floor and operated 2 rooms as a B&B. The house was so special then, and I always wished to return. Renting the whole house was even more fabulous. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub often. I tried to read and find information on the house. Who actually built it? The land on both sides of the canal was owned by the Croftons, and then the Aclands. Did the Aclands build Acland house? It is amazing. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been able to experience our time in this home and would like to continue returning! Thank you Erin so much for allowing us this experience.

We had a wonderful time in this home - great indoor and outdoor spaces to gather and spend quality time. Our rainy weekend was enhanced with daily beach walks, and we made the most of outdoor time on the covered patios! All round, a most excellent stay!

This is our forth time staying at this beautiful property. We had three generations come together for a long weekend. The house has everything you need for a big group. The bedrooms are well appointed, there is lots of indoor and outdoor space and the pool is so much fun. The owners are wonderful to deal with. We will be back again next year!

This was our second time staying at this beautiful home and we hope to return again. The house itself is very gracious and feels like home with comfortable furnishings, lovely artwork, comfortable beds and an amazing view. There is plenty of room both inside and out to spread out and find a quiet place to read a book or enjoy nature. It is perfect for a large family gathering and also to host friends to come for a few days. The local property manager contacted us regularly to see if we needed anything and was helpful in answering questions about local services. We have 2 dogs, and they absolutely loved being able to run freely in the large yard, as well as go down to the beach with us to sniff & explore to their hearts content. The indoor pool and hot tub are amazing and an absolute bonus to an experience that was already wonderful. Salt Spring Island was new to us when we first rented this house, but we have discovered many great places that we love, such as Barb's Buns, The Woodshed & Nellies (for gourmet take away food). The Upper Ganges Liquor store has an extensive supply of very nice wines and the two main grocery stores have a surprising array of interesting products. All of this is less than 10 minutes drive from the property. If you wanted to get some exercise, you can walk into town in about an hour (the first 20 minutes is uphill). Overall, this place is really beautiful; from the house itself, to the furnishings and contents, to the beautiful yard, to the view and the array of wildlife (eagles, herons, humming birds, flickers, seals, sea lions) and every kind of small song birds. Our contacts with Erin, the VRBO property manager, were very pleasant. She was so gracious and kept us informed about the local weather on our drive out from Alberta. We are happy to give this property , the owner and the people who take care of, both remotely and locally, the highest possible rating.

We had a 3 generation family stay at this lovely property. There was ample room for all of us to spread out....read, play, swim, explore the beach and neighbourhood, as well as watch for seals and deer!The home was wonderfully stocked for cooking and dining; the pool and hot tub were excellent, and the beds were comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more!

Right from the very beginning, with the welcome smile from the house manager Nathalie, it felt like home. Beautiful vistas, ample accommodation for the 8 adults, the welcome hot tub after long hikes (runs by the younger ones) and a fully kitted out kitchen - we could not ask for more.

It is hard to pinpoint what makes our time at this magical property so relaxing and enjoyable, but this was our third visit and we hope to return next year. My family loves that the house is beautiful yet so comfortable and inviting that we immediately feel right at home. Lots of space to explore and play, read a book on the front porch, watch the sunset, or jump in the pool. Something for everyone.

Lovely extremely large heritage home right on the beach. Beautfully decorated with lovely art. All the supplies that one needs are in the house. Lovely indoor pool and hot top. Big porches one with outdoor heaters to sit and have coffee or a a drink looking at the Salish Sea. The only weak link is railings for the hot tub and pool for getting in and out would be a welcome addition as I have MS and need the railings to enter and exit safely. I was able to pull over the sturdy bench in pool area and use it to hold onto going in and out of pool. This home would be stupendous for big families. We had beautiful weather so it was a just a great first outing since covid started. For handicapped just be aware you need to negotiate the stairs to the house but it is workable if you go slow and have a partner to hang onto.

This property is even more beautiful than the pictures! It is a huge, comfortable, beautifully furnished mansion where you will feel relaxed and pampered. The kitchen is extensively stocked with good quality cookware, the bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The main floor sitting rooms are out of an English countryside retreat, with two separate porches that overlook a stunning lawn and Booth Bay. There is good access to the ocean down a flight of stairs and we had paddleboards to explore the estuary that goes inland from the bay. The bay is shallow so the water is swimmable at high tide and it’s only a quick run up to the large indoor swimming pool and hot tub. We biked from the Long Harbour ferry to the property in about 30 minutes and easy access to Ganges in about 15 minutes by bike. All in all a wonderful place to pass a weekend.

We are a family of 9; 6 adults, 1 teenager and 2 pre teens. We all had a fantastic time at Erin’s gorgeous property. The home is exactly as described. It is rustic on the outside with modern touches on the inside. It is so comfortable. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. The home is well appointed, extremely clean and has all the dishes, utensils, cookware, etc. that is needed. The home is situated on a very large lot right on Booth Bay with easy access to the ocean at both high and low tides. We spent many hours scavenging at low tide and swimming at high tide. It is a quick 5 minute drive into Ganges should supplies be required. This is a wonderful, well loved family home. We all felt privileged to be able to share it and all hope to be able to return. We have many fond memories of our time spent here.

I feel incredibly lucky that I had an opportunity to stay at such a beautiful property! From the moment the front gates opened and we turned the corner of the driveway, I knew this place was something was going to be something special. We were looking for a rental that had outdoor space for our daughter to run around that was either on the water or had a pool and this place checked all the boxes. An added bonus was the air conditioning as we were there during the record breaking heat wave! There's more than enough seating, places to sleep, bathrooms and overall space for everyone. There's a lot of charm throughout the home and it would be an incredible place to spend the holidays in with all the cozy fires, comfy chairs and stunning views. The chest of toys in the basement was a huge surprise hit with our daughter, as well as watching the seals every day. It's easy to see why this place has repeat guests and I hope to also be one of them. Thank you and we hope to return again!

We absolutely loved this home & property. The location is incredible, right on Booth Bay with wonderful views. The house is gorgeous, beautifully decorated with high quality furnishings & a fully equipped kitchen. We weren't able to have guests due to the Covid Pandemic, but it would have been perfect for the family reunion we had originally planned. We have already booked to return next year.
