The location was perfect, across the road from the beach. There was a 4 square convenience store right next door and the main town mins walking distance away. Beautiful outdoor patio and private access. The house is very big, your room was on it's own wing of the house, so although the owners lived there, you never heard them. Breakfast was EVERYTHING. Hot and cold food, you would spend $30+ per person at a cafe for the food they prepared for you, not to mention a beautiful view of the water whilst you eat. The room was so clean, tidy, and had everything you needed (and some). The hosts were great, extremely accommodating. You only ever saw them during breakfast time and were happy to give you all the space you wanted, and if you wanted a chat, you only had to walk upstairs. They have a double garage and allowed us to park inside with access straight in the house. Would highly recommend staying here and will absolutely be back.

It was somebody's house, which is something we're not use to (probably my fault for not reading the description properly) however, everything exceeded our expections so it's definitely not worth losing any ratings over.

Our hosts were amazing people, and we felt like we were part of their family. We are already missing the delicious breakfasts Heather and Don served up each day, better than any hotel. The location was great, an easy walk to restaurants, the wharf and shops, and with a fabulous view of Mercury Bay.

The hosts / owners of the property were awesome and such a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome and at home. Beautifully appointed room and meticulous attention to detail. Breakfast was as good as any 5* hotel. The property is perfectly located for a stay in Whitianga with great ocean views.

We were very impressed with everything about our stay. Our hosts, Heather and Don, were wonderfully hospitable, striking a perfect balance of friendliness and helpfulness. My wife requires gluten-free food, and this was catered for brilliantly. The decor was fresh and modern, and the little extras provided in the room were deeply appreciated. The breakfasts were better than anything we had at any hotel during our trip, and the location near the beach and town was perfect.

There was nothing 'not to like'. We are struggling to think of suggestions for improvement but we can't think of any.
