Hosts were wonderful and breakfast was amazing!
The beds were very uncomfortable. You could feel the springs.😐 Yet, we still enjoyed ourselves.

In advance of the trip, communication with Niall was great. He gave a quick overview of the village highlighting the local restaurants and where advance booking would be required.
On arrival, check in was easy and he facilitated an early one when I enquired about some luggage storage.
In terms of the property, lovely room with everything you need and owners on site at all times should you have any questions or needs.

On both mornings of our stay we were presented with an excellent fully cooked Scottish breakfast, pipping hot. Juices, cereals, hot drinks etc were all also available.
Location wise it was perfectly situated near to the golf course, distilleries and multiple eating and drinking establishments.
Our host was kind enough to help with organising our transport and indeed provided us with a few lifts to and from the golf course which exceeded any expectations but were gratefully accepted.
Special mention to the homemade shortbread in our room too. Superb.

The hosts are very nice and always willing to help or share useful information. The breakfast provided is really exceptional! The rooms have everything they need and are decorated with love for small but lovely details.

The breakfast was a great well cooked Scottish breakfast or a superb macedonia with waffles, All Excellent, Our hosts were exceptionally nice people and we had a lovely time listening to our host playing the accordion while his delightful daughter Iona, danced some Scottish dances beautifully for us. What more could you ask for?! Special thanks to our hosts also for helping with our travel arrangments

The owners Niall and Linda were great hosts. They provided us with all the information about Islay that was relevant to our stay both prior to and during our stay. Nialls breakfasts were amazing especially the haggis and also his eggs and hollandaise sauce!. We would return again if we are ever back this way and highly recommend to anyone thinking about a stay on Islay!!Forgot to mention that every day there was fantastic shortbread in our room that was made by Linda's mum I believe

Absolutely superb. Very handy for the ferry. Friendly, attentive host, and one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in any B&B or hotel, home or abroad. Would fully recommend to anyone.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome and Niall could not have been a more accommodating host. This was exemplified by the exceptional breakfast which was served piping hot each morning which set you up for the day. The room we booked (Ardbeg) was more than adequate for our needs though was a tad on the small side and didn't come with an en-suite, instead we had private use of the large house bathroom just across the hall. All in all a great stay (4 nts) and I would thoroughly recommend.

Brilliant breakfast - nice bacon great portions good selection of stuff and you choose exactly what goes on your plate. Recommend trying the waffle something a bit different and very tasty! Niall has a great knowledge of the Island and is an excellent host.

Very clean, comfortable, spacious. Kind touches such as coffee, tea, biscotti in the room. Liquid soap smelled wonderful. Fantastic location, ten minutes from the ferry, easy walking to the Three Distilleries Path. On the same street as the Islay bus route. Great breakfast.

The host is very nice, friendly and kind. When I left my car at the distillery for tasting, he drove me to pick it up the next day, saving me 30mins of walking. Really appreciate his help :) Also the breakfast is awesome

We had a great stay at the Trout Fly Guest House when we visited Islay. The rooms are clean, breakfast was excellent, and the hosts are so helpful and kind. It was a great location to start the Three Distilleries walk from and visit Laphroaig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg.

Staying at Neils' was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone going to this amazing Island of Islay.
You feel at Trout Fly guest house like at home, the rooms are really cosy and the whole place is really clean!
On top of that, Neils is a really nice person that will give you the best advice so your trip goes smoth.
Anyway I do recommend this place and I'll certainly come back when I'll get the chance to visit Islay again :)
