The Houghton Hotel, Spa, Wellness & Golf

We loved everything about this hotel and what makes this hotel a destination in Johannesburg is the staff right from the front desk who helped with check in and our request for a late checkout. Thabo at Nova was absolutely the best ensuring all our needs were met including a scrumptious vegan meal for my husband. Samson and Blessing for the golf cart rides to the golf club. The lovely little box of chocolates as a birthday treat for my husband. The turndown service with the extra bottles of water and a sweet treat also made it special. What we loved the most is that we could chose our pillows so we felt right at home right there.

Although the hotel gave us a better room with a better view we were still not too impressed with the view as advertised by booking.com and you do pay more for a room with a view, so its on booking.com to ensure that if you advertise a room with a view and its paid for its as per the advertised picture when you are in the booking phase.

The staff is so professional and very efficient, they are kind and respectful as well. Highly appreciated their help, especially at front desk as well as Mr Peter.

I love the facilities, the staff was very friendly & welcoming

The room was not entirely clean. We stayed in Room 323 there was a couch in the room that had stains not sure what type of stains they were but it made it made us uncomfortable. The gowns were not changed after housekeeping cleaned the room and we only noticed once the floor/housekeeping manager brought it to the attention of the house keeper assigned to clean our room.
