Our third time staying at this beautiful property . Comfortable spaces inside and out , so close to our favorite places , too. House manager is very quickly responsive as is the owner . Just a nonstressful beautiful place to stay.!

What a fantastic property and location! Breathtaking views on all sides - just a fabulous setting for a vacation retreat. Only suggestions I would give are 1) if you have small children you need to watch them closely in the backyard given the steep dropoff and 2) if you rent bikes, rent e-bikes as the area is super hilly!

We enjoyed the views, the comfortable beds (including the futon beds in the basement), the large lawns, fire pit and s’mores, comfortable gathering space in the living room and nice big dining table for all 8 of us. It was a great home base for our trips to sleeping bears dunes and Sutton’s Bay—lots of wineries close by. Would love to come back.

Incredible - location, accommodations, views, cleanliness - all exceeded our expectations!

I’d like to find something negative to say, as I don’t want to find it booked on “our week”, but truth is, this is the ONLY place we’ll stay. When it’s not available, we don’t take a vacation.

Our second time here, just a lovely spot!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Serenity. The view was incredible (looking directly at the manitou islands and sleeping bear dunes) and the yard was large and flat, which allowed our children to play without worry. It was also away from any major streets. The house is pretty kid proof. Floors are concrete downstairs. Kitchen is well stocked. Only downside is the beach is about 300 steps down and very rocky.

We are a family of six adults ( my husband, me, and two grown sons and their wives) and two grandchildren, ages 2 and 5 months. The setup was perfect for us to each have our own comfortable room. The views, the views, the views! Pictures can't adequately capture the beauty , the vast expanse of Lake Michigan that is viewable from virtually every angle of the property. The view of Lake Leelanau was far greater than we had expected. It is truly a special property to afford such a scenic vista from every spot on the property. The grounds are gorgeous and obviously well tended to. Flowers and berry bushes of all kinds frame the yards. TWO huge lawns, both in the front and in the back of the property with the softest grass for kids to play on or to take naps! We utilized the game room table downstairs every night for card and dice games. The upstairs deck was perfect for lunches or late afternoon sunning. We have stayed in numerous rental homes over the years and this one had the best equipped kitchen. When on vacation it is so nice not to have to change cooking plans because of a lack of utensils or pots and pans. We also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit on an evening when the air was still. We enjoyed the northern look of the post and beam construction throughout the house. The family room had comfortable seating for everyone. Two car garage was a plus. Leland is our second home, basically, so we are very familiar with all that the area has to offer. Of course Carlson's for smoked whitefish and spread, Fischer's Happy Hour cheeseburgers or broasted chicken followed by Sanders hot fudge sundaes are to die for. The Bluebird's Sunday Brunch is absolutely a must. The Cove , with its chubby Marys, cherry chicken wraps and whitefish tacos always satisfy. We recommend the Hop Lot in Suttons Bay, and of course the wineries. I loved Trish's Dishes for breakfast, and the Blue Boat for lattes or a cold cherry espresso brew. Serenity provided the most peaceful ambiance, coupled with the convenience of many fun things nearby. Everyone who comes must travel to Glen Arbor to climb the famous Sleeping Bear Dunes, followed by the Lake Michigan overlook of the Pierce Stocking scenic drive. The owner of this property is an absolute pleasure to communicate with. She stopped by and gave us a tour of her garden and even let us dig in and pull some ingredients for an abundant salad. We definitely created memories and will be back in 2018!

The house itself is warm and comfortable and plenty of room, games, books, etc. in the finished downstairs to keep the kids entertained while the adults relax. This was our third year staying two weeks at Serenity. First off, it may be the most beautiful location and view in area... with stunning views of Lake Michigan and Lake Leelanau. The owners are meticulous with the grounds... gorgeous grass yard and garden. The home itself is clean, simple and enjoyable. There are Very few downsides, and these are only if you have small children. (Perfect home for adults and older children) You need to bring toys and other outdoor items to help keep them busy.... the steps to Lake are a plus bc the sheer number and steepness make it difficult for children to maneuver. The entrance to stairs is also somewhat hidden and not tempting for young children. The location is great to town, easy enough to bike or walk. The street is quiet and very pretty/safe. Aside from concrete floors/no rugs (high noise level) and some rooms have no or little protection from sun/daylight... these issues can be remedied with fans or noise machines. It is a glorious spot to sit back, enjoy the view with cup of coffee in morning and/or cocktails over the heavenly endless evenings and sunsets. The owners are friendly, accommodating and accessible.

This house is perfection for my family. Secluded enough to feel privacy, but close enough to everything to be convenient. The view is not to be believed! The pictures are great, but the real thing is better. We've already booked our week for next year. Outstanding in every way...the lake is cold in early July, but wetsuits fixed that. The beach was rocky because the water levels are high this year, but 10 feet out it was all sand...we were in the water every day.

This is an amazing home on a premier piece of property. We have stayed there twice and would not hesitate to stay again.

The house was absolutely beautiful! It was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Great location with beautiful views from every room. Our stay was enjoyed by our whole family!

This was our second stay at this property and we cant say enough how great it is. The home is spotless, beautifully decorated, spacious, full of light, and well equipped. Every room had wonderful views of either Lake Michigan, lake leelanau, or both. The lovely outdoor spaces were enjoyed by everyone in our group, ranging from age 4 to 70. Didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back!

This was by far my favorite VRBO stay out of about 6 wonderful locations! It was picture perfect! I wanted to move in and never leave. The only bad thing was the fruit flies, but the owners definitely can't help that as we have them at our house as well in Michigan and it is harvest time, so expected. Another thing to consider - there are 250 steps to the beach. My family and I are all in very good shape and it was still a workout. I actually thought it was kind of fun and challenging, but probably wouldn't be ideal for people over 65 or in bad health. The private beach was amazing and the house had every thing you would ever need. Highly recommend but hate to let the secret out. We will definitely be back!

I couldn't have stayed anywhere better! Beautiful sunrise views over Lake Leelanau, gorgeous panoramic sunset views over Lake Michigan, brand new set of stairs down to your own private Lake Michigan Beach, fire pit, tons of outdoor seating, extremely clean, great for entertaining small groups and it couldn't have been better. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, it came with everything we needed plus some. We loved it so much we want to make it a tradition to come back every year.

The property is lovely, with tremendous views! It was clean, elegant and very well equipped. The outdoor patio area was super! The owner provided excellent customer service. We thought the location was perfect. I would highly recommend.

This house was a wonderful get away. The house was beautiful and very clean. Great lay out for families. It would have been nice to have cable tv and I am not sure I would stay here in the summer until,the steps to the beach are installed. Over all, great house in a great location with beautiful views.

Beautiful house with a spectacular setting! All was as described. The owner was very responsive to all questions we had. Multiple close beaches and restaurants. Easy shopping nearby if you plan to cook in. A wonderful time had by all 8 in our party. We would absolutely rent again!
