We had a great time at the Merlot! We were constantly seeing all kinds of critters around the property- deer, frogs, butterflies and all kinds of birds. Beautiful area and beautiful home! Very clean and hospitable.

Right off the highway for convenience, yet nestled into a pocket of woods with all the wildlife you could hope to see. Sitting in one of the many rocking chairs on the wrap around porch one morning we watched the deer graze while drinking our coffee. Very peaceful! Clean! Beds were very comfortable. Hot tub was a great way to end the night after all our exploring with the kids. Definitely will stay again as there is so much to do in the area.

We had lots to do not only on the property but close by. The only part was that the tv in the bedroom on the first floor went out. And according to my granddaughters the tv on the top floor wouldn’t work. Another thing is no wifi we had to go off the property to make and receive calls

We had a nice weekend at the Merlot Cabin with family. The house was as specified in the listing so we knew what to expect. The small issues we had were not knowing how to operate the fireplace since the remote's display didn't seem to be functioning properly, and there was a pretty strong sulpher smell from the water, even the filtered water from the fridge. Some of the outlets at the house were also not very helpful since they were covered with faceplates that blocked part of the plug and prevented some plugs going in. We enjoyed the backyard fire ring and my daughter was happy with the playground.

The main problem with this rental is the lack of being able to communicate with whomever is staying at the lodge, with lack of cell service, and no wifi. If my wife or one of her friends had an emergency at home, there is no way to reach them. They do have a landline, but you need some sort of code to be able to call long distance. Communication with the property manager was very pleasant and professional. They really enjoyed their stay, it was a girls weekend. I believe I would have to think hard about staying again, just because of the the lack of wifi, or cell service.

Your home was beautiful! Very clean and well stocked. The kids loved the pool table, fire pit and hottub. They all agreed that it was one of their favorite trips. Thanks for letting us stay in your home.

Location was close to all the attractions. House was spotless and had lots of toys for the kids. Firepit was prepped for use when we got there. Thanks for the great stay!

If we could give this property 10 stars we would. The home is absolutely beautiful! We felt like we were at home. It’s well taken care of, has great amenities, and very well stocked with the essentials. The location is perfect and easily accessible to all the caves and Hocking Hills State Park. The owners were excellent with communicating and very responsive to anything we needed. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stayed. We definitely will be back!!

Our family stayed thanksgiving weekend at your beautiful log home. The grounds were stunning and the amenities were perfect. The home was located to so many different trails and with the fire pit and hot tub, it was absolutely fabulous! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!!

This cabin is perfection - well built, impeccably appointed, close to the highway yet secluded, fully equipped with everything one could possibly need and extremely clean. Everything worked. We had a fantastic time.

Cabin was all set up with everything we needed to laugh,eat, have a fire and make great memories… close to hiking and rafting… we will be back.

Loved the property! Very clean and comfy and centrally located to many attractions in the Hocking Hills area. We are planning on booking again either in the fall or next summer. Owners are very prompt in replying to questions. Highly recommended!

We had a great time at the Merlot. The weather was a bit of a hindrance but with games, a pool table and a hot tub we still had a great time. We were able to do a bit of hiking as so many of the trails were close by that when there was a break in the rain, we could easily get to a location to squeeze a hike in. Beautiful house that is immaculate. Highly recommend!

The Merlot cabin was perfect for our family weekend. Beautifully furnished. Kitchen was well stocked. Game room in the basement was terrific. Fire pit was a nice addition. Wraparound deck was lovely. The online pictures don’t do it justice. Would definitely book again. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our time at this location. Very clean and well maintained. They had a fully equipped kitchen and even provided facial tissue, plenty of paper towels and lots of bath towels and hot tub towels. There were even condiments in the fridge. Large yard for outside games and the wrap around porch with the furniture was awesome. My only complaint was the noise from the highway near by.

Loved our time at Merlot. The owner, Kate, is so easy to work with and was very accessible via text. For our time at Hocking Hills, we took our family of 6 (adults and teens) and there was plenty to do - while also having time to wind down. Teens were a little distressed at first that Wifi was non-existent, but it made them appreciate it more when we were at restaurants, etc. where it was more available. Lol. It also allowed them to be more present when together at the cabin. Cabin was very clean, and had all of the towels, bedding, kitchen gadgets, and grill for our stay. Only disappointment was that the heating element was broken in the oven (stovetop worked) and we had packed a cooler of food to prepare in the oven. However, we got creative and were able to cook our items by using the provided griddle and outdoor grill. The teens loved hanging out in the hot tub, playing pool, and even pulling out a board game. Both a positive and negative is that the cabin is by a very busy road. The trees are a buffer....negative is that it is a little loud, but positive is that the road is very well paved and provides easy access to all that we wanted to do. Hiked at Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, ate ice cream at Treehouse Treats and Treasures and played 18 holes at the putt putt golf right beside it in Logan. Also went to Nelsonville one afternoon and checked out the Rocky Factory Outlet store and ate at Starbrick BBQ (very tasty!). Nelsonville itself was a little run down, however. Also kayaked/rented a pontoon boat at Lake Hope for a lazy afternoon. There was so much more we could have done, but we also enjoyed the peacefulness of nature and time together. If we ever take the same grouping of people again, we would definitely see if the Merlot was available to book.

The Merlot Cabin was perfect for our annual girls trip! The first thing we noticed was how clean the cabin was. The accommodations were a comfortable fit for our group of 6 with plenty of sleeping space, 2 full bathrooms, a large kitchen table for eating and playing games, a big porch with chairs and tables for enjoying the outdoors either in front or in back of the cabin (we did both), and a new, spacious, very clean hot tub. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking and it was nice to have all linens and towels provided. The location was very convenient and easy to find. The yard is surrounded by trees so it is private, however there is a main road just through the trees. During the day there is quite a bit of road noise, but after 5-6pm it dies down considerably. One thing to note is there is no wifi and none of us could get cellular service so we were completely "off the grid" while there, which none of us minded. Overall, it does have the feel of a private getaway, yet it is so close to many things to do in the Hocking Hills area so it is the best of both worlds! We would definitely book this property again.

Great location in Hocking Hills, only draw back was cabin was quite close to busy road. It is a beautiful cabin with lots of space and amenities. Very close to all the great nature spots and an awesome glass blowing art studio which is a must stop! Had a great time and fabulous weather for spring!

We really enjoyed the property and lack of Wi-Fi was really nice. If you’re hiking in the area plan your trips ahead and know where you’re going. Cell service throughout the area is spotty.
