Everything was as described in the listing and we would be happy to stay there again. I would recommend a small fence to block some of the pool filter noise at the pool as it runs constantly. The pool is smaller than I anticipated, but was perfect for the two of us. The cleaning crew definitely needs to spend a little more care in cleaning as I didn't appreciate finding prior guests hairs in multiple spots in the master bath.

The house was at the end of a court so it was great for the kids riding their bikes and scooters around the end of the drive way. Also, beach access was really close and easy to get to. The only thing that we think would have been nice would be for the house to have beach umbrellas for guests to use. We have rented several OBX vacation homes and this is the first that didn't have beach equipment which takes up a lot of room in the car when traveling with kids/large families.

Pros: HVAC system kept up and house was comfortable, generally well maintained as they just replaced a lot of exterior railing and stairs, location is great, pool and hot tub well maintained, quality cookware and utensils. Cons: When they say (1) roll of toilet paper, they mean (1)…..not (1) per bathroom. Not a big deal since Harris Teeter is close, but so you’re aware. The screen porch door was badly damaged upon arrival and we reported it to the property management company. They never came out to repair, and the screen porch became a “bug trap” for the week. Basically useless. Cleaning crew could’ve been better….there was sand around the fridge, ceiling fans looked like they haven’t been dusted in over a year, and there was someone’s clothes left in the one bedroom. Sliding doors could use a little maintenance. An investment in some decent outdoor seating could go a long way. Overall it’s a decent house and good location. But I’ve paid less for a better rentals at the beach.

We had the best time at this wonderful vacation house, the views of the ocean, very spacious, great (small) pool and a hot tub were all fantastic! The walk to the beach was very minimal, and we never had a problem finding a spot to put up our umbrella. It was very family orientated in the neighborhood, which was nice, not super loud but everyone having a great time. The only issue we had was trying to get information from the rental company by email, we needed the wifi password and never got it, but if I called I am sure I would have received it. It was my vacation and I didn't need it that bad! Anyway, great place and wonderful views! I highly recommend it!

Upon arrival we found that most of the house appeared very clean however there were a few places that the floors were sticky. We also found a few days later that the screen was roped pretty back in the screened in appear so we weren’t able to sit outside in the evening unless we wanted to sit with lots of bugs. There was also a major spider problem. There were a few webs in corners that looked like they had Ben there a while. Also could see spiders crawling on ceilings. We killed a lot of them but icing on the cake was when we found one in a bed. It was reports to the rental agency who said they would have someone come out and spray. We were to get a call prior to the coming. That was Wednesday morning. As of Saturday am at checkout no one had come and no one ever called me to let me now when to expect them. Lots of spiders outside along the decking and outside of doors. I would not rent this particular unit again.

The ships watch room is a great place to spend time eating, playing card games during happy hour, or even reading.
