The house was wonderful, there was enough space for everyone, my kids loved all of the board games available inside and the beautiful lake outside. I cannot say enough good things about this property and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a house to rent. We have 3 young kids and they loved it. Don was very helpful and responsive. There are grocery stores and pharmacies nearby as well as other great amenities. If you order through shipt.com you can have Weis groceries delivered to the house. If you’re an accident prone person like me there’s an urgent care facility 20 minutes away too. The property location was wonderful, we loved the kayaks that came with the house. Made loading and unloading cars challenging. However, it was definitely all worth it! House and location was beautiful. Had the rustic lake house charm we were looking for. Loved the screened in porch. Came in very handy for the couple times we had rain. Many memorable memories; from sitting on the dock in the mornings and watching the beautiful sunrises, kayaking the cove and the campfires by the lake, just to name a few. The most memorable was, while sitting on the dock watching the sunrise, an eagle swooped down in front of us and grabbed its morning breakfast fish from the lake! Absolutely amazing to witness! Thank you Don for sharing your home. A GREAT time was had by all. Hope to be back next year.

Our host did a great job steering us to our destination and once there everything was just fine for a wonderful week by the lake. Our group focused on fishing and the early hours and late day fishing was most enjoyable. There is however a lot of high powered cruisers on the lake and some not so courteous with no wake zones. No reservation endorsing a recommendation.

Don’s home is so beautiful! He was very friendly and explained everything to a tee! Checking in was with ease and everything that you could ever need was there for you! Where his home is located has a breathtaking view of the lake! Very peaceful and relaxing!

Our family, including my two children (ages, 2 and 3 months), had a wonderful week at the lake house in early September. The property was just as described and Don was available to quickly answer any questions I had. The lakefront access was great for small children, given that it was on a slighter grade than other properties at the lake and did not have stairs. As another reviewer mentioned, there are a lot of rocks on the shore and as you enter the lake so we brought water shoes, which solved any issues. We all had a great time!

The house was awesome. My little boy loved the dock to fish and swim all day long. We caught tons of fish which my son thought was the best. For me it is one of the best coves to stay in. The water was very clam in the cove. We would stay again! Thanks Don!

This house was so much more than we expected. With the master suite, screened-in porch, and perfect back-yard leading to the lake we had an amazing week! I have been going to Lake Wallenpaupack for many years now this house was at the top of the list! We will definitely be coming back :)

The house was well maintained and clean and the location is great. We found good trails nearby for light hikes, and enjoyed swimming and fishing in the lake. Only minus from our perspective is that the lake itself is quite busy with motorboats and jetskis especially on weekends, so not necessarily a place for peaceful, quiet reflection. This aspect is improved during the work week.

The home was extremely well-appointed and had lots of extras like a tree house and fishing rods that we got a TON of use out of! The dock made for relaxing hours of fishing, swimming, floating, kayaking and boating. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. My only advice would be to make sure to wear sandals on the dock (duh) b/c when we didn't we got a few splinters. Definitely not a fatal flaw! Just evidence of how much fun the kids were having using the house :) We would definitely come back. Thanks, Don!

We had a great time. Came primarily for a family fishing trip. Location in the cove is perfect for kids to play in the water. Dock accommodated two fishing boats. Was a pleasure to work with the owner don.

We had an excellent weekend at this home. It is the perfect cabin right on the lake. We’ve stayed on lake Wallenpaupack for the past 5 years in different houses and this is the first time that bed linens and towels have been provided. Having dishwasher and laundry detergent available was also a first for us. It just shows how generous the owners are and how they really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable as if you are in your own home. We were also welcome to use their lawn chairs, fire wood, family-sized row boat, blow up kayak and floats. My kids loved the loft upstairs and something we’ve never encountered before- a tree house that they spent hours in. It is on a beautiful part of the lake and our “beach” area at the lake offers both sun and shade. This was our favorite home yet and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy cabin with the lake just steps away.

I actually hesitate to say how awesome this place was, in fear of it being unavailable next year. Truly an excellent experience. Btw, the pictures do not do it justice. It has everything you need for a great vacation. Just add food and drink.

Wonderful house with a great view of the lake. The house fit the 8 of us perfectly and had everything we needed. Kids favorite part was the campfire right on the lake. Lots of s’mores were eaten! Mr. Don was great to work with. If you’re looking for a great rental in a great location on the lake, this is the house for you!!

Great cabin located in the lakes largest cove. Built in the 1950's with some modern upgrades. Includes a dock for those that love boating and skiing. Kids fished from the dock and caught everything from bass to pickerel. Dad set the record though with a large mouth bass. Hope to return someday.

Don is a very attentive owner and ensures you have everything you need. The house was very clean and had everything needed for a great week. The lake was great and sitting outside was very relaxing. Beautiful area.. Totally recommend

My family and I had yet another perfect week at Lake Wallenpaupack. The lakefront chalet was as described if not better. It was convenient that the bedding and bath towels were provided, one less thing to drag along. The house had all of the basics and more, including a Keurig coffee maker (along with a traditional coffee maker) and anything else we needed was a short drive away with several convenience/grocery stores to choose from. The dock is in very good condition and rather large, nice spot to sit and watch boats go past. The house is located in a very large cove that makes it nice to take kids in and out on tubes, water skis, etc. and in my opinion this is the best spot on the lake (Briar Hill). The owners were extremely easy to communicate with, always getting back to my questions within minutes, not exaggerating, and seemed genuinely concerned that everything about our stay went smoothly. It's apparent that they take pride in their Lakefront Gumble Chalet, even putting together a binder book for guests to refer to with an array of information regarding the lake and surrounding area. I do not have one negative thing to say about the property, it really was perfect and we hope to return. "Thank you" to Mr. Don and family for sharing your home with us.

Don is a wonderful host! Quickly replied to our texts and calls when we had questions. House has modern amenities but still has that rustic cabin feel. Ample parking for three vehicles. The three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were able to handle my group of 7 very comfortably. The large table in the screened porch area allowed us to all sit together for meals. The property has a rustic mountain feel and was large enough for my 4 year old to roam and have fun. The dock is great for lounging or fishing or even skipping rocks. There are plenty of rocks on the shoreline. The kitchen is large enough to prepare a large meal or if you prefer to just make snacks, this kitchen fits the bill. The deck is large enough to accommodate a group of 8 without having to bump into anyone. The loft has room for 3 to 4 more people to sleep. We will definitely be renting this house again. Don allowed us to use some of his life jackets and floats. This was a great time and money saver for us. The fire pit by the lake is great for nighttime campfires and roasting marshmallows. The neighbors are very friendly and this area of the lake is active so there will not be a time when you are bored. Although this area is active, it is quiet when on the deck. I was able to read 3 books this week. There is nothing bad I can say about this property. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Don, The Magro's

Our family (5 adults, 2 kids) had a very enjoyable week on Lake Wallenpaupack. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed for a quiet relaxing vacation. The swimming area is excellent for small children, but water shoes are recommended for walking on the stony bottom. The dock was very good for mooring our boat and for fishing and swimming. My grandchildren caught many good sized sunnies and blue gills. Their Pop caught several very large pickerel right off the dock. Mr. Don was great! When a problem arose with the cable TV reception, he immediately called the company and the problem was remedied quickly. I would highly recommend this home to any lake lover!

Beautiful cabin with a great screened-in porch we used for games and eating. Great for rainy days. Nice deck as well- grill and sit in the sun to eat out. Dock is wonderful kids jumping off front into deeper waters. The fishing is amazing! Son caught 7-8lb catfish right off dock. Morning noon and night fishing off dock and also from boat. 4 stars because of crazy lake traffic with speedboats on the weekends fishing drops off at these times water churned up. Owner is wonderful to deal with. Very helpful and has a well maintained beautiful home.

The cabin was very clean and stocked well with dishes, etc. the dock was perfect for watching the sunrise and sunset. We swam from the dock and rented a boat for 3 days. The owner was great to work with and very helpful. We loved the book the owner's family made for guests, referring to it often. The Lake was busy on the weekends but settled down during the week making for a peaceful time. We would definitely return in the future.

We just got back from our first lake vacation. We are a beach family, so this was all new to us! Don is so very, very easy to work with. He answers all questions (even silly ones like "what do you do on a lake vacation?"). He always responded within 12 hours and was very friendly and accommodating. The house is even nicer than the photos. The TV room was our favorite room. The walk down to the lake isn't long and has an easier slope than other houses I saw. Although there are trees by the house, you can still see the lake through them (about 50%) and you can see that from the deck and kitchen table. The grill worked great, we loved cooking out and eating on the deck at night. The master bed was comfortable, the master bathroom newly renovated (granite). It has a modern, cozy feel through most of the house. He had rafts and chairs we could use. He had board games, books to read, and a guest tackle box and fishing rods. The kids caught several fish off the dock. The dock is set up in an "L" shape which is very nice for younger children...creates a pool like effect so they don't wander too far. It is a shallow walk into the water. Kid wore water shoes (rocky) and it worked great. It's a nice size cove. Weekends have some boaters, waterskiers, and wave runners (kids love the residual waves from that) and weekdays are more quiet. The dock is large enough to bring chairs on. Dock gets sun, but most of the land is in shade. Very cool trees that great a nice roof over you when sitting around the fire. The fire pit is placed perfectly, you are about 12 feet from the water and about 3 feet up from it. LOVED sitting by the fire looking at the lake. Hammock to lie on overlooking lake also. VERY relaxing vacation. Our weather was a little chilly in the beginning, and I wish we had rented a boat for 3-4 days, but other than that, it was perfect for us. Kitchen has many utensils, pots, etc.
