This was our second stay here. Great location, especially if you enjoy privacy as we did. The weather didn't cooperate with us, but we were still able to enjoy our view right from the living room area and the fire ring on the property got a lot of use in the cool evenings. Owner responded almost immediately to any questions we had and was very helpful.

We just finished our stay and are quite disappointed with both the property and the owner’s response to the numerous issues we had. Let me start by stating, my family has been renting fishing cottages in Canada and NY for the last 50 years. Some did not have electricity or indoor plumbing, we are very familiar with life on the lake. The problems we encountered throughout the week began as soon as we got there and found dirty towels and sheets in the bedrooms and bathroom. The place looked as though it was not cleaned. After contacting Anny about numerous other issues, she stated that her cleaning lady stopped working 2 weeks prior to our stay. This means she knew the property wasn’t going to be cleaned prior to our stay, however did not feel the need to tell us this and have us bring our own sheets or towels. We spent our first day washing sheets and towels and cleaning a house we paid to stay in. Also during the first day we noticed mouse droppings throughout the kitchen, and then a half eaten cookie and many droppings in the silverware drawer. Due to a response that her handyman has stopped working for her and she doesn’t have another we ended up setting our own mouse traps. We caught 3 mice in the short time we were there. On top of this there was an awful sewage smell coming from the bathroom our entire stay which only got worse. By Monday morning (we arrived Friday) the toilet was flushing extremely slow and not at all. After multiple calls back and forth with Anny who is extremely difficult to understand and speak with on the phone, a septic service came out Tuesday night. He pumped the tank, but stated that the leach field had issues that she wasn’t willing to pay to repair, the tank would be full again in no time. This also did not resolve the smell, the bathroom still smelled of sewage for the duration of our stay. 5 people in the home The problems with the house could have been handled to minimize the impact to our stay but Anny is not properly equipped to manage this property. It is extremely difficult to communicate with her, and she doesn’t currently have a cleaning service or a handyman. Throughout our numerous phone calls she would just laugh and try to brush off our problems. The fact that she knew the property wasn’t going to be cleaned and didn’t tell us ahead of time, or offer any sort of refund for the “cleaning fee” is astounding. Anny needs to learn how to be more accommodating to her guests.

Overall the property is nice. Used the onsite kayak on the dock, great! There were a couple issues: - the cleanup between clients looks like it never happened. The bathroom sink, toilet and floor were dirty and the sheets and towels were wet and lying on the bathroom floor - beds were not made; we washed the sheets and put them on the bed - mice got into our dry goods which were unopened in a cabinet with a latch; also black ants inside - roof leaks near fireplace, we put a pot under to prevent damage

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. However, the house sits very close to Rt. 49, so there was a lot of road noise. We also experienced daily noise from surrounding properties. Fortunately, things were quiet at night. The house and grounds are not well kept. There were other aspects that were disappointing that I will not mention, but the shortcomings are reflected in the price per night compared to others in the area. If you're looking for a bargain, this place fits the bill.

It was comfortable, quiet, and had the necessities you’d need inside and the extras you’d want outside for a relaxing stay on the lake. It’s removed from the tourist area to feel like home, but close enough to run over there any time you want for fun and food.

The location is awesome but the yard was not cut or maintained . Weeds and high grass were a haven for bugs and misquotes. The dwelling was nice but needs some tender loving care and a good cleaning in the bathroom.

We enjoyed our stay, cottage was spacious, clean and cute. Lake was beautiful, and we heard bands on the weekends from the pub down the road. They have great food too. Definitely want to go there next year.

I was very excited to book Anny's Place because it is on the water and on same street as other family. I was aware that it is a little shabby because other people I know had rented it and I was ok with that. We had 2 decent days even though there was a slight sewer smell outside and in the hall. Then on July 4th the toilet began either not flushing or flushing slowly and the sewer smell increased. We slept in living room only to wake up to leaky roof during rain. Anny called many times, had the septic emptied but never once responded to VRBO messaging, email or texts. She has a strong accent making calls difficult and her voicemails were garbled and impossible to understand. She canceled our reservation stating, "guest left property" when we hadn't left or said we were leaving. No part of a refund was offered. Luckily we found another place to stay. We could handle shabby and unmowed lake shore and lawn but not that sewer smell or sketchy toilet flush. Plus we were hardly at the camp because of visiting friends and family.

Excellent views. Nice place to stay. Loved the room overlooking the lake.

Loved the lakefront and the wide open views from the house! Anny is very sweet and accommodating. I contacted her in regards to the lawn not being mowed for several weeks and the grounds not being kept up on our first day there. She immediately contacted her handyman to come mow. He however did not show for 4 days. Anny had him come immediately after I contacted her a second time. Loved the house!

A perfect place for a quiet winter weekend away. Clean, comfortable, outstanding view. We spent hours watching the birds on the lake.

The property and area were nice. The view of the lake was very pretty. The cabin itself upon entering was covered in mouse droppings all throughout the kitchen including the drawers, pots and pans, and inside the toaster oven (there was also a smell). We set our own traps and caught mice during our stay. The owner sent someone but not a professional exterminator which is really what was (and on a lake) needed. The light cover on the ceiling in the bedroom was filled with hundreds of dead flies, there seems to be a hole in the ceiling when you come in. The entire cabin had one A/C in the living space far from any of the other rooms. The fridge seems to be on its way to breaking. The overall state of the cabin was a bit dreary. If you are traveling with young children like we were you may not feel comfortable using the kitchen. While the owner "responded" the cabin needs serious attention not just a quick wipe now and then.

Oneida Lake provides a beautiful backdrop to this house. Right on the lake, complete with private dock, large yard and beautiful picture windows to enjoy the view. We liked the living room, with it's comfortable couches, big picture window and air conditioning (the only room with AC). However, the rest of the house was disappointing. There were numerous maintenance issues that we discussed with the owner and which she hopefully will address for future guests.

Large lawn and shallow sandy bottom lake for swimming, we didn’t have a problem docking our boat but larger boats may need to drop anchor slightly off shore. The location of this property was nice. The lake was beautiful. Unfortunately our stay was spoiled by mice in the house (including droppings in the silverware drawer and pots and pans). Initially we cleaned everything prior to using it, thinking maybe the droppings were old. But after several days we saw a mouse which confirmed our suspicions that the mice were active. We contacted the owner who did offer to have the handyman address the problem. We preferred not to stay. The owner chose not refund us for the days we were unable to stay because of the mice.

Everything you could ask for and more. Beautiful, clean and fully stocked of any supplies you may need. Only items to bring are food and beverages (there are local grocery stores). Local restaurants and even fresh picked blueberries or pick your own. Boat dock is right on property and we were on the water day and night. Huge picture window overlooking the lake and our boat. We plan on going back next year.

Enjoyed our week on the lake! I notified the owner of a leaking roof during some strong downpours. The rooms in the house are great and very comfortable. The large window facing the lake is awesome. The waterfront property outside is beautiful. Some cleanliness issues need to be addressed that I notified Anny of. She is accommodating. Overall, very nice.
