This place is perfect if you’re trying to get away from the city, but only a short drive to a city. It’s pretty secluded and it has an awesome yard for pups. I loved my stay here and I’ll definitely stay again when I’m back in Asheville.

Very clean home, equipped with all you need for a nice getaway. Very good, prompt communication with hosts which was appreciated!!! Although It is a little distance from town, it is definitely not dealbreaker as quiet night sky offers great views. Driveway entrance can be a bit confusing but other than that, wonderful! Would recommend and would stay again!

Clean, comfortable house with everything we needed for our short stay. Great, large, fenced yard for our small dog. Wrap around deck was terrific for the mornings and afternoon.

We adored this house! Beautiful view and very tranquil. The porch was perfect for playing games and relaxing every afternoon. We even saw a mother deer and her babies every morning coming down the hill in back. The grill and firepit were a nice addition and everything you could possibly need was provided plus more. Very thoughtful hosts. Easy to find after the first attempt. We missed the street and driveway the first time. Already planning a longer trip next year. Can't wait.

We're happy to echo the other reviews; this is a great place to stay. Very convenient to dog-friendly restaurants and breweries/cideries in Weaverville, Woodfin, and Asheville. A/C worked great, which was much appreciated because it was very hot during our stay Fourth of July weekend. I think many folks are selecting this place for the fenced yard for their dogs, so I'll add some details I was unsure of in advance. We have a 6' fence at home, and from the posted pictures this fence appeared lower, I was thinking 4'. The fence is actually more like 3' high. Our dog is not a fence-jumper and she was never in the yard unsupervised, but this could be an issue with some dogs. The fence (in conjunction with the retaining wall one one side) was solid and secure with no gaps. Also, the pictures show the stairs up to the deck from the driveway are wide open, but during our stay there was a folding gate at the top of the stairs (maybe 2' high) that could be opened to block the whole span of the stairs. It was a perfect feature for us and our dog. Prior to the visit, being the place is surrounded by woods, I was also concerned about ticks and such in the grassy yard but upon our arrival it was obviously freshly mowed well-cropped grass. Everything was in great condition, and it's obvious the owners care about their guests' experience and comfort. In summary, it was a great visit and we're already booked to return in the fall.

The house was very nice. Perfect size for our family of 5 and two dogs. Loved the fenced in yard. Comfortable beds. Communication with the hosts was great. The ONLY thing that was a slight challenge was finding the road to the house and the driveway. The road is very tucked away and the road sign on the opposite side was damaged and in the trees. Then the driveway to the property is immediately to the right as you turn on the road. Once we got that figured out, it was easy to find afterwards. Would definitely love to stay again.

This was a cozy home that was perfect for our family, including our fur babies! Our hosts were pleasant and accommodating and the house was clean and had everything we needed. We were able to sit on the deck and enjoy the view while our kids played in the yard. The drive to Asheville was not far so good location to be close but not too close. Would definitely stay again!

The house was perfect. We were able to walk right in and get settled pretty quickly. The house was in the perfect spot for our travels, as it wasn't too far from downtown Weaverville or the Reems Creek Golf course. The beds were comfy and the views were great! Will definitely check to see if this place is available on our next visit!

We had an absolutely amazing stay. The house is very comfortable and clean and the wrap-around porch and fenced in yard were just wonderful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Owner was responsive & very nice. House was clean and comfy. Loved the deck and fenced yard for the pups. Nights were peaceful on the covered deck. Close to everything Asheville offers. Wish we had discovered French Broad Chocolate earlier! Hope to come back one day.

We had the best week in Alexander! Check in was easy and the hosts were attentive when we had questions. The house is very clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The house is in a great location about 10 minutes from Weaverville where we shopped for groceries and about 25 minutes from Asheville. We spent a lot of time on the large porch that has the best mountain view, chairs for relaxing and a table for dining or playing games. The fenced yard was wonderful for our dogs. We can’t recommend this property enough!

Owners were helpful in giving directions to the home. The home was exactly as listed. We didn’t spend much time at the house, but it covered everything we needed!

We enjoyed a wonderful week at this cozy mountain home. It had everything we needed for our stay and was a easy drive to all we wanted to see. We enjoyed mornings on the big porch with our dogs seeing the sunrise and watching the variety of birds. The views were amazing! But I think our dogs would say the best part was the big fenced in yard. We appreciated our hosts checking in and making the whole process so simple. We hope to come back!

Everything about this property was top notch- the communication with the hosts, the amenities (fenced in yard, large porch with sweeping views, kid friendly 1 story with gates, comfortable beds (pillows were heavenly), well stocked kitchen, etc. Truly a home away from home. Didn't use the grill or fire pit because it was too cold, but would definitely use next time. Great value and a short drive to downtown and Weaverville. Driveway was a little tight, but we'll marked and a good driver will get used to it after 1 or 2 times.

Stayed here with my husband, mom, and daughter and we were very comfortable. This is the perfect cottage and the hosts have thought of everything. We had such a lovely stay for our long weekend in the NC mountains. We have stayed in several VRBOs and this home had everything we needed, thoughtfully laid out for guests. The wraparound porch offered lovely views of the mountain vistas, was peaceful, clean, and charming. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard so much! Would definitely stay here again.

This home was exactly as described. The yad was very large and completely secured with a chain link style fence. Inside, the home was immaculately clean with everything you need from cooking to laundry supplies. Hosts are very responsive, helpful, and kind. 10/10 highly recommend and would stay here every time I am in the area.

Jef and Karen’s home is very comfortable. We enjoyed our short stay very much. Anyone wanting to stay for a short time or longer I believe would be comfortable. Views are beautiful. Fenced in yard was nice to have for my four legged friend. I would suggest arriving during daylight if you can. Jef and Karen are quick to respond if you have questions.
