Wonderful cabin and service to match the great cabin. Just an excellent Adirondack experience!

Cabin was the perfect setting for enjoying the beautiful fall scenery. We did a little hiking and there were several trails to choose from close by. Can’t wait to go back.

Clean, comfortable, charming cabin. Back porch facing woods, with delightful sound of John’s Brook just beyond, offered relaxation and ideal spot for meditation.

My friend and I returned to the Brookside Cabin for another hiking weekend after our first excellent experience last year. Everyone from Lana the property manager to the cleaning team to the maintenance folks was helpful, kind, and responsive. The cabin itself is great and the setting is unrivaled, especially for post-hike recovery. I anticipate returning again!

This is a well-equipped, very clean, and comfortable cabin with an excellent location fronting a brook. It was ideal for the two of us. The surroundings were very quiet without being too isolated. The cookies were a very nice treat. We recommend this property.

We loved our stay at the Brookside Cabin! The cabin was very cozy,clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked so we cooked a number of meals. The best part is the location which is right next to a beautiful, pristine brook!! The sound of the brook was mesmerizing and so relaxing. Our only complaint is we had difficulty getting the heat to turn on our first, somewhat chilly night. All in all though, probably the best vrbo rental we have ever had (& we've had a lot)! Will surely come back!!

We had a great time staying at this cabin for a long weekend in Keene Valley, a great location for hiking in the high peaks and lots of great local hikes. The cabin was warm and welcoming and had everything we needed to be comfortable to stay and cook our own meals. My children loved the outdoors and access to see the river. The cabin was exactly as described, a lovely cabin , plenty of room for 4, and very responsive communication from the property manager. We had a great stay!

The real estate agent called us in advance to alert us of an incoming snowstorm the day of our arrival, and the owners made the cabin available to us one day earlier so we would not have to travel in the storm. I left work a day early and worked remotely from their cozy loft with a desk and window overlooking a great view of the fir trees and falling snow. We enjoyed the homemade cookies, and ventured out to the river in the backyard. Our adventures from the cabin included snowshoeing up Mt. Esther, cross-country skiing, ice hockey on Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, and snowboarding. Great location, well stocked home, and owners who really cared about us enjoying our stay.

This cabin was an amazing getaway. The cabin and the area were both beautiful. The cabin had everything you could ask for and was close enough to the ski resorts that we got to celebrate the Olympics with some time at an old Olympics site. We are hoping to stay again!

Radiant floor heating yields no cold spots and you stay toasty warm (9 degrees was the lowest temp when we stayed) Nice fireplace, comfortable bed and well appointed kitchen. The lean-to by the brook has an outdoor fire pit and two ADK chairs. The loft is a great place to work a put 1, maybe two, small children. The owner's home sits at the top of the hill on the property so it is not as private as the pictures lead you to believe but no one bothered us. This would be a 5 star property all the way around if the living room furniture was updated. It's hard to enjoy a comfortable night in with a rustic love seat and chair that have wooden arms and little resilience from their cushions.

Great cabin on a more than gorgeous Brook. Very nice decorated cabin in the Adirondack style. Great lean to outside. 25 minutes to Whiteface. Loved it!

My husband and I stayed at the house for my 40th birthday. The house was great, just what the pictures reflected. Behind the cabin is a river that was amazing and felt secluded. The location is off the beaten path in a small town but within 30 minutes of Lake Placid and 60 minutes to Lake George. It was perfect. Overall experience was an A+.

We absolutely Loved the Brookside cabin! Yes, I highly recommend it! As soon as we stepped into the cabin, there was a welcoming warmth - yup, from the feeling of the home! The bed was so comfortable; and I had an amazing sleep! The kids, too, all slept wonderfully on the trundle bed in the loft. Nina's thoughtful, personal touches were so kind and appreciated - fresh wildflowers, homemade chocolate chip cookies and even a personal note! The home was immaculate & just beautiful! Oh, and the fireplace was prepared and ready for a fire that evening. So convenient & appreciated having a washer & dryer. The brook running behind the home was gorgeous; and we could've spent nearly a whole day there! The lean-to is perfect for an evening fire & s'mores. Really, this place is a gem and we would return in a heart beat. Nina is a gem too!

My friend and I stayed at the Brookside Cabin for a summer hiking weekend and had a fantastic time. The cabin - more of a rustic house with all the modern trappings - was immaculate. As an avid camper and backpacker, it was nice to come home from a 12-hour hike to a private shower and washer/dryer for a change. It was very hot and humid when we were there, so the upstairs loft was a bit tough for sleeping (admittedly, we didn’t look for any fans - there may have been some stowed away). Because of the heat, we also didn’t feel compelled to use the fireplace, so I’m looking forward to coming back in the cool weather sometime. I would very gladly stay here again!

What a sweet little cabin in the woods! Perfect for my husband and me. ( the loft would add a space for some children if they are of an age to not fall down steps). There is only one bathroom but not an issue for us. The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything I needed to cook meals “at home”. There is no air conditioning but also not a problem…a beautiful breeze seemed to always be present. The constant sound of the brook was magical. Would recommend this place for anyone who needs to get away for a while. There are many hikes in close proximity to the cabin. Would definitely return.

This property has the quintessential cabin in the woods feel but is close to everything. Beautifully maintained property perfect for anyone interested in hiking the high peaks or wanting to head into Lake Placid. Absolutely loved the property, location, and our experience. The cabin was carefully prepared for our arrival with a fire ready to start in the fireplace and fresh homemade cookies. The kitchen has everything you would need, just like home. Very nicely furnished and really, really clean. Hiking trails to the High Peaks Mountains start a short walk down the road.
