The location was superb, right on the seaside promenade with easy access to restaurants, shops and a variety of swimming spots. Our view over the bay and across to mountains was beautiful. The terrace was large enough for a good sized table, two chairs, and a stand to dry clothes and towels. The bathroom was a decent size, hot water worked well. The closet easily held all over our clothes and travel bags. Valentina, our host, responded very punctually via email and WhatsApp text. She even allowed us to check in early. She was not at all fluent in Serb-Croatian, nor English, relying on translating soft ware. She helped in every way we needed. But it worked out OK.She was a beautiful host. Good Wifi. The staff at the comfortable restaurant downstairs was very nice. We had a very relaxed 5 days here.

The kitchen accessories (plates, utensils, etc) were limited, and minimal quality, a surprise in consideration of the rest of the decor. We needed to ask for a dish drain. No dish towels provided, but paper towels were provided as an alternative. No instructions were provided on how to use the television.

Communication was excellent, check in really easy, we were met by Valentina on arrival, who is very lovely and organised. We were pleased to find that she also sorted the tourist tax which we were expecting to do ourselves. The apartment was bright and airy and spotlessly clean. Kitchen area with fridge,kettle, hob and everything you need to be able to make basic meals if needed. The bed was so comfy with clean fresh smelling linen. The view… well it was beautiful, blue sea, mountains, just stunning. We could have sat on the balcony and stared at it all day. Waking up and having coffee on the balcony was perfect. The beach is literally in the doorstep. Straight out of the apartment is the promenade can walk along to the old town or to Igalo. There are multiple bars, shops and restaurants and beach areas with sun beds parasols etc. Boat hire and trips easy to book. All the staff are friendly. We had a perfect week here and have come home totally relaxed and a little bit in love with Montenegro. We visited Kotor on the bus which is super easy, went to Rose on the boat taxi which is a little piece of paradise. Can’t recommend Apartment Joy enough.
