Private, cozy Cottage in 1,000 Islands area on St. Lawrence River
Godetevi e rilassatevi in questo cottage privato, proprio sulla St. Fiume Lawrence. Il casolare è situato sul lato canadese delle 1.000 isole. Il cottage è stato costruito negli anni '20 e nel rinnovamento abbiamo cercato di mantenere l'aspetto del passato. L'ambiente è molto tranquillo e privato, ma vicino a molte avventure e attività. È comodamente situato a 8 minuti da Brockville, ON .... noto come la città delle 1.000 isole. Mentre a Brockville potrete godervi l'Aquatarium Discovery Center di nuova costruzione, immersioni subacquee, ristoranti, teatri, negozi, ecc. Ottawa, la capitale delle nazioni è di 1 ora. Sud, Montreal è 2 ore. Est e Toronto sono 3 ore. Ovest. Il sistema Canal Rideau e Upper Canada Village sono vicini da esplorare. Godetevi il golf e le 1.000 Island Seaway Cruises (tra cui Boldt Castle e Singer Island). Il parco estivo Skywood Eco Adventure e il Parco Provinciale Browns Bay sono raggiungibili a piedi: offrendo un'avventura e una spiaggia di sabbia. Godetevi il nuoto e la pesca direttamente dal molo, nonché la bicicletta sulla pista ciclabile Parkways o le avventure attraverso i sentieri Jone's Creek. Il cottage è dotato di una cucina completa e bagno. Le sistemazioni per il sonno sono disponibili al piano terra e alla zona soppalcata al piano superiore. Grande terrazzo con barbecue. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing retreat to escape to then this is the place to go. I loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the view! The host, Peggy, was great

We had a lovely stay at this charming waterfront cottage! It’s clean and comfortable, and Peggy was communicative and helpful from check in to departure. The cottage is private and secluded, and very quiet. Although there is no dock, we were able to walk down the steps and right into the river to launch our paddleboards. It’s a lovely area for paddling with Jones Creek close by (much calmer than the St Lawrence and only a five minute paddle off the big river.) Paddleboarders should be aware that the conditions can change rapidly on the St Lawrence, and the wind can really pick up. Certainly didn’t stop us from going out but I wouldn’t recommend venturing out past the small islands, it’s much rougher and windier out there than in the bay. The screened in porch allows a lovely breeze and we enjoyed watching the boat traffic from the deck. With windows on three sides there is no need for air conditioning, there always seemed to be a breeze off the river. Absolutely perfect in the evenings. Location of the cottage is awesome if you’re looking to go hiking. Landon’s Bay, Jones Creek, and Mallorytown Landing hikes are close by. It’s a 15 minute drive into Brockville for everything you may need, and about a half hour from Gananoque if you’re interested in a boat cruise or kayak tour of the Islands. Overall I can’t recommend this cottage enough, it’s perfectly situated as a home base if you want to enjoy the activities in the area, or comfortable enough to just chill.

This is a lovely rustic cottage but has all the perks you could want. Excellent view, great deck, well equipped kitchen. Comfy front room. Full bath (although the shower controls were a bit tricky). Bedrooms were as advertised and the loft space was well ventilated if the windows were open. Everyday we noticed the quiet. Lovely.
On the downside, the deck could use some repair work, the dock was totally unusable and the trees could use a massive trim (they both block part of the excellent view and contribute to the mosquito problem we had each evening)
Overall an excellent 2 weeks.
