We came back for a weeklong winter getaway to reconnect with our friends in SoCal. The location of the property cannot be beat. Steps away from the beach with magnificent shnsets and crashing shores as bgd sound. The responsiveness of the owner was superb. As a beach property we were not expecting pristine but we’re underwhelmed by the upkeep given the nightly rate. Beyond peeling paint, basic outdated kitchen and a heating system that was extremely loud and ineffective. There are plenty of electric blankets to watch the awesome new television in the living room.

The property is large and comfortable to accommodate multiple guests, and the location is absolutely the best! In the future, the owners would need to invest in some remodeling and restocking, to continue sustaining the level of property expected in this price range.

Quiet (except the airplanes) neighborhood. The amazing features tankless hot water heater for endless hot water, beds are comfortable (the fold out chair in twin room could not be slept on) 8 bikes, lots of space to enjoy. Cleaning could be better floors and drawers.

We had a great stay, however like I said above home needs some TLC before renting again.

This was a nice getaway for our family. The house is spacious and the location is excellent.

One block from the beach. Bikes, boogie boards readily available!. Quiet street with friendly neighbors. Lots and lots of fun! Highly recommend.

Stayed for 1 week at NB property in June 2021. Good communication with owner. Easy check in/check out. Location excellent in quieter area of Balboa Peninsula but within easy walking distance to the Balboa Pier and ferry to Balboa Island. Bonus was 2 car garage that eliminated the stress of street parking although street parking was available without too much difficulty during the week. Overall good stay in good location for NB/Balboa.

Pros: Great location! The beach toys/bikes were a blast. Manager was very responsive and checking in and out was easy. Cons: Paint peeling in several areas, upstairs bath only worked as a shower and we did notice ants.

Excellent location close to the beach. Safe quiet neighborhood. Plenty of space in the house for large family. beach gear, toys, and bikes available for guests to use was a really wonderful bonus!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this quiet street and all the amenities of this property. The 6 bikes with 2 baskets were great for our needs, extra beach chairs, beach toys, towels, linens and fully stocked kitchen made our stay simply wonderful.

We had a very nice time. The bikes were a great benefit of this home and being on the more quiet end of Balboa Peninsula with the beach just a short walk away was awesome. Cleanliness was an issue in the kitchen. I don't think the cleaning people cleaned it before our arrival as there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, crumbs on the counter and the kitchen drawers needed some serious cleaning. Also, we discovered there were only 4 or 5 glasses in the whole kitchen so we had to use coffee cups for our beverages! Previous renters' towels were still hanging over the 3rd floor patio railing and the screen on the master bedroom sliding glass door was not sliding properly and kept popping out. Last issue we had was the outlets on the northwest wall of the home did not work . Jason said he was having a maintenance guy come in to fix these last couple items after our departure so I'm sure it will be fine for the next renter. Overall it was a very good home. A little more TLC in the kitchen would make this a 5 star.

Great experience! The check in/out is super easy! We didn’t need a thing- zero calls to management! Great size if traveling with teens, everyone felt they had their own space. Very comfortable, big, clean home. Great location. And....one of my biggest pet peeves about rentals is when they don’t have enough towels or have super flimsy ones. They had plenty of towels! And not cheap thin ones! Wonderful stay. Would love to return!

The house fit our needs, the location for us is the best on the peninsula, the owner is very responsive we only had to reach out to him for a couple minor things, the bikes are a huge plus as we were here for 6 weeks, the only thing I would recommend is having a coffee maker, we would definitely stay here again.

property was in great location - just off beach and walking distance to boardwalk and nearby balboa town. The kitchen was well stocked, the living area was nice and open, and having bikes available was a nice touch. It was chilly at night this time of year and the wall heaters were dated, but the fireplace in the master and the electric blankets kept us warm so it wasn't a big deal. The master was a nice open room, with 2 other standard sized rooms and 1 small room. Overall the place met our needs perfectly.

This is a wonderful place for a family to enjoy and hang out! We had 6 adults and 2 toddlers and everyone felt like we had plenty of space and space where you could find a little time to yourself. Take a walk in either direction and you will find the path to the beach. The description on VRBO does not give you what is in each bedroom so in order to help you decide: Master bedroom: 1 queen bed and room for a blow-up mattress. - The master bath has twin sinks and a standing shower. Bedroom #2: bunk beds with a full-on the bottom and twin on top. Bedroom #3: full-size bed Bedroom #4: twin bed The second bathroom has a tub/shower The garage has two parking spaces for normal or small cars and a third bay that holds 6 adult bikes in good condition it also has beach chairs, and assorted toys - but bring sand buckets and other castle building items for that activity. (they have one bike lock so you may want to bring one if you have a large group). The kitchen is well stocked so you can cook, however, it does not have a coffee maker it has a single-use Kruig coffee maker so we just went out and bought a coffee press. Plates are all glass but there were paper plates that we used and then replaced for the kiddos. If you have small children bring plastic cups for them. The living room has a huge comfortable couch, wonderful lighting, nice coffee table, and a big TV. There are books, games, and movies for your enjoyment. Also near the living room is a 1/2 bath. Open the patio doors and enjoy the cool breeze this fenced front area is perfect for little kids to run around and play. They also offer a gas BBQ - though we did have to go get gas (no big deal). Don't forget to spend some time on one of the awesome decks. The top deck has 3 lounge chairs. Important notes: **** place the trash and recycling cans out in front of the garage doors on Sunday night! **** Monday mornings they do street-sweeping so you can not park in front of the house between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:30 pm! it is an $80 fine per car! signs that say this are at the other end of the street so you may miss it. They do the other side of the street on Wednesday. This is a quiet neighborhood so take the time to walk around and view the beautiful houses. We can't wait to go back!

This was a great rental very family friendly for us and our 3 kids and another couple with a baby. Very close to the beach and bay! The owner Jason was very responsive and made the stay enjoyable.

The house was perfect!! Location could not be beat. We loved the patios and decks - when we weren’t at the beach we were outside enjoying the ocean air. The house was comfy and spacious and was equipped with all the essentials. So appreciated that! Chairs, beach toys, bikes, towels & the best washer & dryer ever!! The welcome basket was a lovely touch and we won’t forget having our morning coffee on the roof deck staring at the ocean after falling asleep to the sound of the crashing waves. Thanks for creating a special place for our family to gather and make wonderful memories.
