After seeing the shared room, I chose a private room. The room was nice, spacious, has a ventilator and air conditioning, wifi is pretty good, everything is being cleaned a few times a day. Kitchen available to cook, although not very well equiped with utensils. But pretty decent price and location for your money in Bucerias. Hostel has lockers too to store your stuff.
The shared room has around 14 beds, if I'm not mistaking. It's a lot. Not the best choice for a quiet night. Also just one bathroom for 14 people. Otherwise you'll have to go downstairs to shower.
The kitchen could be better equiped. There is a fridge with a lot of space, there are plates and cups, but almost no sharp knifes, good pans with lids etc.

The hostal is close to a convenience store, little tienditas and a big grocery store one block away. It is also 4 or 5 blocks from the beach. You can go to the arts & regional crafts market and find tostadas with ceviche for 50 pesos, if you go where the Mexicans eat and not to expensive restaurants. Prices have gone up a lot in the last 4 years. There are good musical shows from the window at night: music from the '80s, bossa nova, reggae style, etc. The Mexican workers come and go and a few gringos. The workers are friendly, especially 'el ché'.
What I liked less is that the TV is often on and loud in the daytime, when one wants to read or be online. There used to be lawn in the backyard, but now there is a restaurant bar downstairs. Not the ideal place for someone who wants tranquility. The hostel is also right by the main Banderas boulevard, so there is a lot of traffic nearby.

Everything was really nice, the rooms are clean and with a lot of luminosity. The personal was so nice with me, thank you so much for this few days. I highly recommend this hostal to discover the region of Puerto Vallarta ☺️

I didn’t like having the hostel not answer their phone, text, email or doorbell. I didn’t like arriving to discover we were locked out (most hostels have a night person, usually the phone number posted at the door is answered).

Hostal Bucerias has a good central location, friendly and helpful staff and a nice atmosphere.
Dorm room beds are comfortable and relatively spacious. Housekeeping freshens up each bed daily. Showers and bathrooms are clean and plentiful and hot water availability seemed adequate. There's a couple of common areas, including an outdoor terrace with a restaurant. Filtered water available in kitchen/common area.
The kitchen could use some better pots and eating dishes (plates, bowls) ideally made of porcelain - not plastic. Perhaps it's to avoid breakage, but for hygienic and health reasons, I prefer another material. The pillow is too thin, so I augmented with my puffer jacket, and the upper bunk in my bed was a little too low for me to comfortably sit in my bed for reading, etc. It's often quite noisy as it's on the main highway.

After 20 years of experience in worldwide hostel, here they charge you to keep your backpack few hours after your checkout. That's not in the hostel spirit, and not even in a hotel spirit. It's just a kindness to the client.

The pool was great and bed was really comfortable. clean bathroom and big rooms with AC and fen as well.
I had to two times change the room because there was misunderstanding during the communication. But everything was fine then. In the kitchen wasn’t soap. I had apartment before and there were so many things for cook (pot, pan, soap..) and it was much more cheaper and close to the beach and shops.

Gustavo the night reception is amazing. Very helpful and friendly. Everytime I come back I feel like I'm visiting with a friend.
The pendeja that cleans in the morning has NO RESPECT FOR QUIET HOURS. She comes into the dorms multiple times in the morning long before check out, making noise, opening the curtains, leaves the door open which lets in ALL the noise from the busy street and let's out ALL the aircon that she's a control freak about. So you get to be woken up several times by her. I thought it was off day for her the first three times it happened, but apparently that's her m.o. Maybe admin doesn't know it's happening so here's a review to open their eyes. If she spent as much time working as she does on her phone she could get all of work done in the dorms AFTER CHECK OUT.

Comfy couch, netflix, friendly, social staff, the restaurant and bar outside in the courtyard, the value for money. High quality Internet.

All of the staff is helpful and pleasant. Love the backyard bar and food.
some hooks to hold your clothes or items in the bathrooms and showers would be nice, but overall super happy
