the flat at the lodge was extremely convenient, spacious and extremely well equipped. What made our stay outstanding was the extreme kindness of the owners. They made us feel welcome, gave us nice tips and tricks to visit the city, and they went above and beyond with helping us with a little problem we had with our car.

the location requires a transport of your own because even Uber is quite tricky to get.

Sadly no closet to put your clothes and valuables in. Cutlery wasn’t clean on arrival.

It is really very big and spacefull apartment. Good place - close to free of charge ferry to the town (accesible by bike or by car with quite cheap daily parking close to ferry). As well it is good starting position for trips to nice places like Volendam, Zaanse Schans, etc.

But generally I was strongly disappointed by this accommodation. Yes, it is really very big and spacefull apartment. But with so small and bad equipped kitchen and small and unventilated (so still wet) bathroom with leaking shower box (I can´t imagine how much water would be on the floor after 6 guests) and sink which does not drain so water stays in the sink. As well there were the cheapest and terribly uncomfortable mattresses, or "wannabe" funny or ecological(?) bedside tables from old suitcases but you can´t use them as nothing stands on this and falls down, etc. Some kitchen details are as well surprising. Like for example small fridge and even without any freezer(!). How this size would be enough for 6 people? No idea ... Last but not least was the parking. After arrival I recognized that it is not allowed park inside on the fenced farm lot and you should use public parking in front of the gate. And second sentence was: "Do not leave anything inside of the car, because they would broke the windows to steal it." So you stay in huge fenced lot, but your car is in danger and you can just hope that you will be able to continue next day in your trip ...

Wonderfully spacious apartment, well equipped and perfect for a family with children/toddlers. The mattresses are really good (we're the type that gets backaches from lousy beds). The kitchen is great (gas stove, hurray!). The lodge is surrounded by green with lots of places for kids to roam freely, play and explore. Albeit right next to the motorway it's very quiet; this also makes it very convenient for traveling anywhere by car. The hotel is run by lovely, welcoming people. The location is great as you can reach the centre of Amsterdam quickly, great beaches are only 30 minutes by car. We hope to book again soon!

Everything about our stay was perfect. The grounds were very relaxing in a beautiful part of Amsterdam. Roger and his wife were super hospitable and gave us all the info we needed and more, even drawing locations on maps for us to explore (which we would never have found without local knowledge). The accommodation itself was very comfortable and nicely done, we didn't want for anything. I would definitely stay again :)

If we could have hired bikes on the site that would have made things a little easier for us, but they were all hired out by the time we arrived, which couldn't be helped. Roger gave us other options of where to rent bikes nearby.
